did you see that post about what sakura says about her love not changing? it has 1500 notes of how cute it is wth
You don’t understand how sad this makes me that they did that to Sakura’s character after all her growth, but kudos to the artist, though; I seen that post, and it was well done in terms of graphical editing.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Sasuke as a character: his tragic, macabre back-story of witnessing his families murder and sadistic psychological torture that stripped him of his innocence in order to overthrow his ‘villain’ brother makes him an amazing character who you feel wholeheartedly sympathy for as you read/watch him progress through his journey.
I actually think that, with the proper development, Sasuke could have been a great match for Sakura if things went differently with their interactions in the beginning of the manga through till the end.
I’ll negate his actions prior to the truth of Itachi just for the sake of this argument, although I do not excuse his actions towards Sakura in their childhood.
This panel, among others that showed Sasuke’s disinterest in Sakura in the war arc, previously after Sasuke ‘stabbing’ Sakura through the heart with a Chidori was shown exactly 6 chapters before 699; only 7 chapters before the epilogue to ‘The Last’, where he’s married to her, although never home.
This is chapter 678. This can be attributed to Sasuke’s rather blunt personality and reality to the situation, but even Naruto is visibly offended by Sasuke’s attitude and Sakura looks beyond hurt.
This is chapter 676, where Sakura notes that Sauske doesn’t seem to care. Again, this can be attributed to the seriousness of the situation.. however….
This is chapter 680: 20 chapters before the epilogue.
Sasuke admits that he only saved Sakura and Kakashi because they were next to Naruto.
The war arc was abundant in Sasuke’s negative demeanor towards Sakura, in which it was then obvious that this would be the final straw that makes Sakura move on from him: seeing that he doesn’t care for her romantically.
Sasuke did give a helping hand to Sakura, though. After exhausting her energy, in 685, Sakura passed out, he caught her before she collapsed on the ground. This could have been a silver lining for Sakura and Sasuke’s romantic development, though it was promptly shut down in the later chapter 693, where Sasuke expresses his disinterest in her, and that him catching her was more of acknowledging her as she’s always wanted.
Back to the war arc being Sakura’s final catalyst to move on from Sasuke finally, it was enlightened with Kakashi’s statement in when analyzing his team.
Sakura also expresses similar to this when Sasuke is about to go rogue again for his revolution, and she wants badly to it go back to the old days of team 7, says uses past tense and says “I still loved you”, it was teetering on the edge of this being the final blow: right through the heart with a Chidori.
Although this could be argued in favor of Sakura’s lingering feelings for Sasuke, and this does make sense to an extent, Sasuke promptly shuts it down, and harshly truthful and denial shattering, at that.
Another factoid that people seem to miss is that Sakura can love two people at the same time, if the argument that Sakura has not moved on from Sasuke is used. I’m not going to bother arguing manga panels, as one just needs to look at the manga to see the development between Naruto and Sakura.
Instead, I’ll use data-book panels.
I’m only gathering a couple because this post is long enough and frankly, I’m tired of typing. Found one thanks to narusakufactory’s blog.
Translation: ”She herself doesn’t really understand her thoughts/feelings towards Naruto. She really likes Sasuke but, if you notice, she is also looking at Naruto. Right now, it doesn’t seem to be love but, perhaps there maybe a chance!?!?!?!??!”
And before I continue, if one needs evidence besides manga that Naruto loves Sakura…
Here’s the exact date Kishimoto put in SHONEN JUMP that he fell in love with her.
as well as this:
There’s more, but I wont bore you with those.
Anyway….
Here’s grown up Sakura and more feelings for Naruto.
I actually own this databook personally, so I’ll upload direct pictures of this page someday soon.
…………
Now, onto the love never changes…
I’m not going to bore you with my tale of emotionally abusive relationships and how they’re certainly no stranger to the women in my family both physically and mentally in different extremities, but I can assure you, especially under those circumstances where somebody belittles you constantly among other things, love changes as fast as a warped monster finally revealing its true colors.
With the logic that a girls feelings never really change, we’re all still in love with our first love. I’m certainly not in love with the way their words branded themselves hot in my thoughts. I’m positive my mother isn’t still in love with the man who made her fear for her life. What I am positive of? That my mother is in love with my father, who treats her with an unconditional love and hugs her every morning and kisses her goodnight each night the moon rises. Love changes, god, does it change. There’s other stories in my family, but I’d obviously not want to get into them over a Naruto argument, of all things.
Apparently, because Sakura’s a woman, her love can never change.
Naruto on the other hand, I suppose him being a male, and Kishimoto is no stranger to his [sometimes] degradation of women, it was okay for his love to change according to ‘The Last.’
Actually, if I remember correctly, ‘The Last’ was printed was Naruto’s first love according to some advertisements, but it was also disproved, similarly with Sasuke’s feelings for Sakura, with evidence pertaining to the manga, and databooks along with several SHONEN JUMP pages that showed evidence of Naruto’s romantic love for Sakura, as shown above, although there’s several others not listed here.
‘The Last’ and its epilogue had no buildup and no weight, and looks more and more than an advertisement than the final installment of a long running series. There were several mistakes that were notable, among the children having Kyuubi whiskers though it would only come from the womb of the Jinchuuriki and no Byakugan; also it disregarded all factual evidence that the past fifteen years provided along with its notorious out of character behavior.
The ratings, not surprisingly, aren’t doing well in Japan.
Although some fans will provide youtube links of it’s “high success” and barely any dislikes to pirated uploads, they fail to realize that the ones who will watch the movie on youtube/other video sites, or click it in general, are the ones who want to see it. Most people who dislike things, stay far away from the things they don’t want to see, much less click it. These videos “success” is based on the users who want to see the uploaded video. For example, when I make Naruto and Sakura videos, I don’t get Naruto and Hinata fans coming to watch my video, they stay far away from it and pertain to things that fit their respective interests.
I think I’ll wrap this up now, after two hours of typing. Sorry I turned your ask into a huge rant. Here’s a gift of our lovely Sakura watching Naruto sleep.
