Ever wonder why you hear ancient stories about wild raging tyranitar burning villages to the ground, but in trainer battles on tv, a well trained lycanroc can get hit by a hyper beam from one and still be standing? Type advantage aside, thats thanks to power seals!

A standard diagram of a heal ball here. The blue rim, in different colors but in all pokeballs, is where your power seal is. PSA: If you ever notice a crack in that, GO TO YOUR NEAREST POKEMON CENTER IMMEDIATELY! Trade machines can exchange the same pokemon to another empty pokeball, and if you tell a nurse joy its because the seal is broken they’ll transfer your pokemon to a new pokeball for free

But anyway, power seals do exactly what it sounds like: they limit the power of a pokemon’s moves, so that in battles you can only ever knock out your opponents pokemon, and that a trainer’s togedemaru shocking you on accident wont literally kill you. Some people forget because they grow up around pokemon owned by trainers, but wild pokemon are way stronger than we give them credit for. Seriously, we don’t tell kids to avoid the tall grass for nothing. A power seal on your pokeball breaking means your pokemon is suddenly at its full power and very likely to actually hurt other pokemon in battles, so you need to get the pokeball replaced immediately

And if it worries you, pretty much all wild pokemon are aware that being caught means their power being limited, even if they don’t know exactly how. Thats why even the sweetest wild garchomp you have a bond to likely won’t just agree to be caught, lots of pokemon want a battle before you can catch them because they want you to prove you’re stronger than the power they’d be giving up

Aita for imposing a "Cheese Tax" on friend?

I (17x) have a small fridge that contains partly my pokemon’s food, and my food. I am an avid lover of cheese. Recently, on the day of my birthday, I found out my friend (17f) has been breaking into my room and stealing my cheese. All this time, I thought it was my pokemon getting up to shenanigans. I went to the nurse multiple times to make sure my pokemon didn’t have too much cheddar or plastic wrapping in their system. Nope, it was just her again. Stealing my food. Even though she could afford quintuple of my groceries’ worth. Naturally, when I learned this, I was pissed. First thing when I arrived to the party, I told her off. She was really nonchalant about it though. Another friend suggested I could break into her room, and I let it go at the time.

So after this I devised a plan for revenge. With my lockpicks I am able to enter any room I want, and I don’t use this privilege lightly. It took a while, but I was able to calculate the amount of cheese she stole from me (In hindsight I don’t understand why I didn’t catch on, because she would just take a slice out of the cheese brick using a knife. There’s only so many pokemon I have that could do something like this, and normally most would ask for permission before they take a bite).

But anyways. The time came, I went to her room during her daily workout and picked the lock. I then left a document, which I taped to her cheese, containing a bill of the cheese amount she owes me. I accidentally blurted out a part of this story to my mom, and she got angry at me. Part of me kinda feels bad for breaking into my friend’s room, but this was funny, right? It wasn’t not deserved or anything?

I (14M) have found a mythical Pokémon. people keep saying I'm rude for not releasing it instead of keeping it. I really like it. Now, recently, someone I do not know (seemed around 65M?) came over to my dorm room and demanded I hand the mythical over to him. I refused, and he began to get harsher, saying that I had ruined the flow of time. I called security, got him out of there, easy. But after that, strange things are occurring. People's birthdays are coming later and later. My Clodsire has become a Wooper. Songs sometimes devolve into only vocals or a small piece of the background music, for no reason. I think I've seriously fucked up the time stream, and now everything in my life is fading. The man even came back, more pleading, to give it to him. I declined again, but I'm afraid this is having serious consequences. So, AITA?

Am I the asshole for pushing away my gay crush?

I (24M) am a researcher of the controversial phenomena of Anon Magic events. Several days ago I met this really cute boy, lets call them T (22M). They immediately stole and hacked the laptop I was using to conduct my studies. They stole, tampered, and cleaned most of my laptop. I managed to get the computer back but I... really like them.

Anyways, I got hacked again and my search history was leaked, also he got sent to the hospital too. I ended up blocking T. T managed to talk me out of it and I'm now a bit more comfortable with my sexuality but I don't think I'm ready to confess to him...

Am I the Asshole for overthrowing the Kanto and Johto governments?

I (16f) am the leader of Team Rocket in my universe after kicking Giovanni out. I decided that just a mafia was too boring and there were plenty of systemic issues in the Kanto and Johto governments. I gathered and strengthens our forces and we lead a coup d’état and successfully ousted those in control and put myself as the leader. From there we dismantled the government and put in a temporary replacement one until we figure out a way to ensure that the government will keep people safe and not make the mistakes of the capitalist governments before it. Many people including former members of the old government and civilians are outraged by this change and demand we reinstate the former government and release Lance from prison despite the fact he’s killed rocket grunts before.
