Choosing peace is hard when people online are committed to being obtuse, unhinged and stupid and you're an argumentative bastard raised in a home where everyone silencing you was never right like even once. i have to say that while i appreciate liam's confidence that his time travel plan would have worked, i disagree with him entirely and for one big reason:

caleb's parents were, by all accounts, good people who loved their son.

there is no way on the gods' green earth they would have left him to rot in a sanatorium for eleven years or not gone looking for him. seventeen years is a long time.

not taking them and the actions they could take into account would have screwed the timeline so hard.

i’m genuinely so emotional about the drei right now that i can’t even think

i’m going to...i don’t know if enjoy is the right word, but i’m going to revel in finishing the drei epic. i always knew how it was gonna go and i aways knew it would likely diverge from canon and it has, but goddamn.

i am incredibly grateful for the story that liam has told. i...seriously. i am standing on the bones of his story and building my own little sandcastle, and it may not seem like much to anyone else, but for two years i’ve angrily staked all of my trauma, bit by bit as i’ve uncovered it, onto caleb. and then later onto astrid and wulf. and i truly can’t even put into words what that’s done to lighten my soul.
