does anyone have any race/ethnicity thoughts about the new cast? nothing is very canon yet so i'd love to hear other people's headcanons :)
so far i think raj is south indian, priya is north indian, chase is filipino, bowie is aa (he gives new yorker vibes, sorry to american-ize him) millie is creole, axel is arab & mexican, zee is honduran, ripper is italian-canadian, and mk is vietnamese.
The day fandoms realize someone else’s headcanon/ship can’t ruin anything because it isn’t canon will be the day I can finally be put to rest
Anyway
i hate raynebow. like okay go take the canon gay couple and put all focus on the white boy best friend. it ruins wayne and raj’s wonderfully written friendship by adding romance, and usually completely eliminates bowie from the narrative to make it about wayne being sad. be honest youre just mad rayne didnt go canon instead
Every time I go to write a fanfic and think “oh god this is horrible. This is the worst thing Ive ever done” I have to remember all of the cringiest shit I read when I was 12. Wattpad was OVERRUN with preteens making the most cursed fics known to man with the WILDEST concepts and we were all so chill about it
If an mpreg fic with approximately two(2) punctuation marks had thousands of avid readers, I think i’ll be okay
Maybe I'm being optimistic about, get this, the writing in TOTAL DRAMA, but this reboot was designed from the beginning to be two seasons long. The reason certain character arcs feel disappointing and incomplete to you is because they are only halfway complete.
i really love how they didn’t make zee’s limb difference tragic or a detriment at all. zee is super chill and open (to the viewers) about the fact that he was born like this but messes with people for fun. being able to detach his leg actually helps him in the catapult challenge! and when his leg get stuck and he can’t pull it out it’s not strictly an amputee-only situation because characters like alejandro have gotten their shoes stuck in things and struggled to get them out in the past. the reveal was funny as fuck (and i like how zee didn’t shrug it off, he was rightfully bummed about losing a prosthetic he liked) and i appreciated how it wasn’t swept under the rug, after the reveal his prosthetic is visible and he talks about it but not in a Token Disabled Character Way even though he is the token disabled character. i just think the writing was surprisingly good in regard to zee being an amputee!
