Now about Christine. I actually liked what they did with her. Would I have wanted her to survive? Absolutely! She may still come back. I tried to think of things they could have done to "redeem" her character. I mean, she's willingly sacrificed other peoples children! People who trusted her to take care of their kids. She let her own daughter walk into that prom when she should have just called the whole thing off. She killed Tom. Her final act was only for Candace, screw everyone else.

I’m with u, it made sense for the plot, was in character. Frankly, because she was a fan favorite people are sad, hell I’m sad. I’ve been calling for Zombine (zombie Christine) I think Geri Hall was amazing as Christine, and as always (god willing we get a second season) show plans change. But as explained on twitter, you can’t pitch a multi season show without setting up a second season (now I wasn’t expecting it, but we know I love angst and I love big ole cliffhangers, even if I want to phase out of existence when the shows I like get inevitably canceled because I guess I have obscure taste.) but damn that was a hell of a finale, frankly it’s fun tv.

Yay! How did I know I’d find sanity on your Tumblr? This may become more than one post and I do know to get an account but! I liked the finale too. Yeah there were some editing choices I questioned but it’s a baby show. Candace and Lilly were the tops! I LOVED that moment when Candace forcibly adjusts Lilly’s hands on her shoulders. Their couple dynamic is going to be so much fun in season two. 🤞I’m sorry for the fans who put too much stock in a fun little show. That’s hard.

💛 now we know I love a little angst 😭😭😭 I think, and this is what my opinion is, that FortWell is routinely the forefront of the shows plot. That means that like things are going to be more complex for them in general than Astrow who don’t have the same history together/ don’t get the same amount of screen time. I think that people have a tendency, Bourne of what I’m not sure, to think the only good representation is when things go perfectly. Frankly, that is not at all my expectation or experience. This isn’t even a “well at least they aren’t dead” I’m like THESE ARE ACTUAL CHARACTERS! It is completely in character for Candace to lash out because of other things going on (the bullying, the kissing booth and spiking lemonade) and for Lilly to not confront them on things immediately (we see Lilly working on this, but still she does this with Astrid and Candace) I think, well so when my partners dad died unexpectedly, it was an incredibly delicate situation that I wasn’t sure how to handle 100% and we were both 21, so much older and much more mature than either Lilly or Candace. As for the editing, the turn around on this show was insane, they finished filming like end of last year? Then episodes were airing in January, there’s been some rough editing in general- but it’s a campy little monster show with real emotional stakes. Again the fact that Candace and Lilly have actual emotions isn’t just good- in fact it’s a breath of fresh air after a bunch of shows where sapphic characters are together but don’t even seem to love each other, or have traits at all. Scap! Have you seen the finale of AALSTW? I have thoughts but I don't want to spoil anything.

I have seen!! I watched live, I've been working 12 hour shifts all week so that's quite the feat (I told them "I have to go at 5pm," so I only worked ten hours yesterday) (Also that's why this blog is currently gif-less for the finale, RIP ME.) Can I say here now that I 100% enjoyed the finale. I'm not going to pontificate on this ask because I have thoughts, and you have thoughts! That I want to hear! So in an incredibly rare show of brevity, I end this with thanks :) I love to come home to a little ask!

I’ve seen some people worried that Candace will betray Lilly and join her mother but I’m like??? What loyalty does she have to her mother?? She would 100% join the fight against her. The only way she would be on her mother’s side is if she gets put under that spell or something.

I think in the finale Christine will realize that the Guardian isn’t some angel of mercy and that she’s actually been working with a demon from hell. Maybe Candace is the one who tells her what’s been going on, or maybe when she sees all the people dying she finally realizes for herself that the Guardian isn’t who he said he was and that she made a big mistake. Either way I think by the end of the episode Christine will be trying to help them stop the monster she created. I also think that when she finds out about Lilly and Candace, while she won’t be totally supportive of it, she can’t really say anything about it either because she was just working with the devil which is a lot worse.

I also could definitely see the big twist or betrayal having to do with Brutus because we know so little about him. He could definitely have been working for the bad guys this whole time but then developed a soft spot for humans like Astrid and Lilly so he tries to protect them instead?? All I hope is that the cliffhanger isn’t too big (just incase we don’t get a season 2). Like I hope it ends with all of them at the dance having a good time thinking they stopped the Guardian and closed the portals, but then it cuts to a monster who made it through one of the portals - suggesting that Astrid and Lilly have more monsters to kill next season. Nothing too major that leaves the show feeling unfinished if it doesn’t get renewed, but just enough to leave it open for another season.

The more I think about it the more I want the end of the season to be a very cute and very cheesy group hug. But still IDK LOL! Yeah, I don't really see a reason Candace would work with her mom, like... my mom is a better person than Christine and I wouldn't even betray my partner for her... I think people are just generally nervous because we don't really watch too many Week-to-week dramedies, people really just kinda binge watch?? in my experience that creates different feelings and predictions about the next ep... and brews worst-case scenarios...

Christine is interesting, I'm not too sure how she is going to react to anything, although she will likely say some innuendo-y things, as she does. I hope she does see the error of her ways, but Idk if she is, like, self-aware enough to catch that she's helping a big Big Bad. I'm 98% that Candace Screw-everyone-Screw-it-Screw-this, suddenly excited for the Formal, sudden character growth Powell, is likely not going to do anything to intentionally hurt Astrid or Lilly.

The official twitter has been a little spoiler-y, but I think the angle is more like Astrid & Lilly and their ragtag group of monster hunters save the school (and win the student body over in the process? or maybe the student body just won't care LOL.) As for the ending, I think depending on Brutus, yeah potentially its a big Cliffhanger, but hell- nothing will ever EVER be as Cliffhanger-y as Teenage Bounty Hunters... That was... I mean- that was... like practically cruel without a second season. I hope it is a soft Cliff, like a... a Hill... just for my own sanity.

But hell we're gonna figure it out in 23 hours LMAO, heres hoping for a second szn.

Are you nervous at all that Lilly and Candace might not get a happy ending this season? Like do you think there’s a chance that something could go wrong in the finale or are you fairly optimistic that they’ll end in a good place, especially considering they just made it through some conflict already.

I can see it going two ways;

1) They are in a good place sorta: The (probably inevitable) cliffhanger is a Brutus/Astrid related thing that will not be fun for Lilly, but generally Christine / Candace stuff is generally resolved/out in the open. SO it's angsty, but supportive, and Candace is able to be there for Lilly through whatever the Finale is going to put them through (Along with Astrid, Tate, Eggs, Val, and Pod-people!Sparrow)

2) Bad place: The (because they 100% are going to try to set up another szn) cliffhanger is still Brutus/Astrid, but the Christine Stuff goes BAD, and theres lots of angst and Candace hurts Lilly again! but I don't really think that this will happen... I don't see why Candace would be loyal to Christine... at all. And we already saw that she was like openly affectionate in public.

That's to say, I'm not sure we're going to end on like... a happy Lilly. Although, they could go for like a really silly cute group hug ending, if everybody is safe. I am not sure what kind of tone to expect from a finale, it could be a really Campy come-together moment, or we end up like really sad... It depends on the amount of guts that get uhhh... gone.

We also aren't super aware of how this whole portal thing works, who Brutus is (If that is even his name) what his vision was abt, what's the deal with the orbs (one for opening and one for closing? idk)... so it still feels like they've kinda withheld some of this info about the mechanics of the fantasy (Should I call it sci-fi?) stuff so that we can find all this shit out at the exact same time as Astrid and Lilly.

Anyways watch it, like, not even end on a cliffhanger lmao.

I love that you gif scenes of Astrid as well. She’s freakin hilarious! If you’re still taking requests one of my fave Astrid moments, apparent from the ridiculously funny one you already gifed, is when she volunteers to kill Candace since Lilly couldn’t. Her energy was immaculate and had me rolling!

Yay! You managed to gif my scene before Saturday. I swear Lilly's love for her two girls just warms my heart. I should probably stop but one more gif request. The scene where Brutus asks Lilly to fill a "Brotus" in. She was so sad and pathetic once again sidelining her own feelings to deal with the monster issue.
