I think amatonormativity got everyone a little fucked up. Like the people who have endured awful relationships because they thought it was better than being alone. The people who have given up everything for "love", maybe their careers, maybe their friends, who knows, because they thought it'd make them happier.
There's probably more examples of this but I wanted to emphasize how this is not just a problem for aromantics, how it affects everyone including allos

Friendly reminder Eric Matthews has the Holiday tradition of running around naked. #ficprompt #jeric #thepossibilitiesareendless

I’m making all these longing looks Jack gives Eric posts but like, just wait until I get to Eric. He is the king of looking at Jack like he’s head over heels in love with him and has been all his life. Just you wait. It’s gonna be so much.

Nothing in my mind just Jack holding Eric's arm like they fricking are in their wedding day for me 💭
Jack was so scared that the crazy Luther would have hurt the both of them so he was using Eric as his protection and safe place 🥺

The pure irony of Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World dumbing down Eric’s character when he is the ✨most✨ emotionally intelligent out of all of the characters by a landslide

Just finished my rewatch of Boy Meets World, so please enjoy this list that I absolutely could expand of things canonically said either by Eric and Jack to each other, or about each other to others, that sound ~totally~ 1000% straight:
Cory: “You guys are so perfect for each other, you should be married!” Eric: “…I’m not ready.”
Eric: “Jack has made it perfectly clear that I’m just his roommate, I dunno why I’m letting this bug me.”
Mr. Feeny: “Well if he was ‘just your roommate,’ you wouldn’t be out here talking to me.”
Jack: “Wait a minute, Rachel’s not here anymore.”
Eric: “What are we still doin’ with our pants on?”
Jack, taking off his: “After you!”
Eric, also taking off his: “Why, thank you!”
Eric "You know somethin’ Jack, if I were a woman, I’d think you were swell.”
Jack, cheerful: “…Really?”
Jack: “What are you doing?”
Eric, staring: “Loving you with my eyes.”
Cory: “Why do you stay with [Eric]?“
Jack: "Because he’s my friend. Because I like him. And no matter what crazy things he says or does, I still like him. God help me, I still like him.”
Eric: “You don’t like girls! You know somethin’, I kinda knew that.”
Jack: “I like girls!”
Eric: “No, you just think you like girls!”
Jack: “What is this power you have over me?”
Eric: “I dunno.”
Eric: “Dude, don’t know if it’s the right time to say it…I love you, man."
Jack: "Dude don’t even, man. I’m the one that loves you!”
Eric:“Dude!”
Both: “DUDE!”
Bonus - Girl Meets World quotes that are ~totally straight~ as well:
Jack, to Eric: “Not a day goes by that your voice still isn’t inside my head, no matter what I do.”
Eric, about Jack, to his face: “…but the evil company is scum who turns clean water into dirty water, and hires really good-looking employees with pocket squares…and hair that goes ‘swoosh’…”
Cory: “How’s life treating you?”
Jack: “Well, you know, I’m at a middle school dance and your brother’s my date.”
Cory: “So, nothing’s changed.”
Jack, to Eric: “Keeping you around was always the best choice I ever made, wasn’t it?”

the boy meets world writers creating the most heartbreaking narrative about growing up queer and closeted in 90's you've ever seen (it is entirely through subtext and poorly aged, sorta problematic jokes)
