Plastic Beach (Jotaro Kujo x Self Insert)
Tumblr media
Notes: I've been imagining this fanfic for a while and it's about time I want to make it for real, no matter how bad it looks from the outside in. After consideration from manifesting, it's now real. Enjoy.
Summary: After a few years since Jotaro had defeated Dio, he returns to the status quo of blending into the crowd without the use of his Stand. Now he has a new problem on the rise: a woman with complicated feelings for him who is willing to do what she can to please the vampire.
2.9k words || ao3 version
---
It’s been so long. How long has it been?
Jotaro opens his eyes, seeing nothing but the pitch dark void, standing instead of floating in space. It’s hard to tell if he’s asleep or awake, as there's barely any sign of a light source, and use only his eyesight to guide him. There’s no way for him to even go anywhere but forward, picking up his feet and moving forward.
His feet come in contact with something soft like food, but it’s not to the point that it could be crushed by the soles of his shoe. He relies on his touch and picks it up, feeling the chills that came with it. It feels cold, like it was covered in liquid. A source of light was seen at a distance from him, identifying the soft and wet like object to reveal itself to be a severed forearm, stained in fresh blood.
From the look of seeing two darkened forearms and silver bracelets, he knew who this was from. He drops one of the severed arms and immediately backs away from it, only to feel the bottom of his feet stumble into a gap on the floor. Underneath him were large gaps of what could’ve been pieces of the floor as if someone was trying to demolish the unknown building.
It wasn’t long for the delinquent to identify what this place was, the infamous mansion in Cairo to defeat a certain vampire that tried to destroy him like his ancestor prior.
His head perked up to hear his name again. It was Kakyoin’s voice..it was the first time he heard his voice since the battle in Egypt. A sign that he was alive all along and survived Dio’s attack.
Off in the distance were sounds of someone calling out his name. That voice sounds awfully familiar coming out from a yard or so away, is it who he think he is?
“...Jotaro!”
“Jotaro..!!”
The redhead shouts at him again, followed by a dog’s howl. That must be Iggy.
He hears his name cry out once again, hearing a different man’s voice. Is Avdol alive too? Are they all alive, he thought. If they must be alive or in help, they must need him, right?
The constant cry of their voices sounds like they’re coming closer. Are they nearby? The delinquent was concerned for a moment but now that the vampire has been long dead, it’s best to say that the coast is now clear.
He starts to run, moving himself whenever he can get himself out and wondering where the three went, but no one seems to be around. Everywhere he looks is nothing but the now worn out state and destruction of the mansion.
Just as when the sound of his name slowly grows louder that it’s impossible to cover his ears without the unbearable volume of the deceased crusaders crying out his own name. Their voices were cries of agony that he was distracted from seeing two pairs of hands grab his arms and torso, restricting him from any movement before being pulled into the water, muffling the voices of suffering and deceased.
He couldn’t breathe, the ocean that usually calms his nerves and mind is trying to drown him. The distance between him and the surface started to increase like there’s a weight attached to his body that he cannot get himself out of. Just as when he’s on the last bit of oxygen in his lungs, he hears one last voice that whispers in his ear. That voice he heard was one that spewed poison every word he spoke.
“Our battle did not stop in Cairo, Jotaro.”
Just as when he heard Dio’s voice, it was time to finally wake up. His eyes shot open and dart in all directions, heart thumping so loud that it left him in a panicked state before calming down within a couple of seconds as he checked his surroundings. Surrounding him were just passengers around him, minding their own business as some were catching up on sleep while others were taking care of themselves. The Joestar sat carelessly in an airplane as if nothing had changed to avoid any sign of concern from anyone.
It has been over a few years since he had experienced 50 days of exploring the world to save his mother from knocking on death’s door but at the cost of his friends whose lives were short-lived. Now as a young adult and studying for his oceanography degree, he was finally able to catch himself to reach the status quo once more, blending into the crowd once more now that the Stand business of the past is behind him.
He turns to face the window next to him, the clouds that obstruct the view are finally clearing up after hours of being airborne to reveal the ground, several hundred feet above him. As the place slowly tilts below the clouds for the first time.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have begun our descent into Puerto Vallarta. Please turn off all portable electronic devices and stow them until we have arrived at the gate." As the flight attendant announced their destination, everyone wanted to take a look over by the window, people wanting to take a look after a long period of being high above the clouds.
A view of the top of buildings and architecture in hues of green, orange, and white with waves of the Pacific blue washing over the sandy edge of the shore calmly. To Jotaro, it seemed to be a peaceful moment to witness a breathtaking look at where he will be for the week and a way to watch and study the marine life within. A place that is unique and a breath of fresh air like no other, the town known as Puerto Vallarta, or known for its nickname…Plastic Beach.
Mexico is well known for many things, ranging from its ancient ruins, range of flavorful cuisines, and its gorgeous beaches. Beach season is drawing closer than it is and people are already working to prepare for tourists that will come and go throughout the spring and summer season. Day to night, rain or shine, tourists and the people who live in the coastal town had at least something to do, dreams that needed to be reached to see the stars and beyond…or at least what most people believe, of course.
Stepping outside of the plane with the other students, he witnessed the beauty with his own two eyes. It was a wonderful town from where Jotaro stood at the entrance of the airport, following other university students as they pass through the scenery of it all.  Buildings stood tall far and wide with multiple colors, white architecture with hues of orange and yellow roofs, exposing bricks to show age and foundation. Townsfolk living a normal life, greeting relatives, friends, tourists alike, having conversation and so forth. Mountains far from the distant beams with life at the peak of spring and upcoming summer. Everywhere they turn, life is there for them as the people who live near the shore live happily without a single care in their life…
…if only Jotaro himself could see that.
As he and the other students followed the professor to their designated location, one of the girls behind him were falling behind. Taking a glimpse from the back, he sees a girl or two smiling happily at him, as if they were ogling at his exterior with one falling in front of them. The girls wave back at him with dreamy expressions, still maintaining their appearance despite having one of their members fall in front of them.
Even in university, some things have never changed.
Slowly turning around, his entire body had stopped as he bumped himself against another classmate in front of him. She was short, no shorter than 5’2 with an average and soft stature, possibly confused as a young teenager when in reality she is around Jotaro’s age. Natural black hair with wavy textures and pale/fair skin. Her face was covered up by a black mask, only covering her face that it was impossible to tell how she’s feeling if it weren’t for her eyebrows.
“Let go of my hand.” He suggests, patience growing thin quickly by the second from feeling his hand grasped by someone that wasn’t familiar.
“I’m sorry…” she apologize, “I-I didn’t mean to–”
“Save it.” He scoffs at her clumsiness but tries to calm his nerves, not pissed off but…better than what he was a few years back. “Here…are you injured?” The girl shakes her head and accepts his hand, grabbing his hand a little too tight by squeezing it after getting up, lengthening the time of holding his hand. Jotaro takes notice of how tight she’s grabbing him.
“Oh…sorry about that.” She murmurs quietly to him, not enough to audibly for him to hear and quickly pulls her hand away. From the furrow eyebrows, she must have been upset that he helped her get up from falling onto the sidewalk.
So much for helping, he supposed.
She pats away the dirt on her clothes and keeps walking with them, albeit on the edge of the road, away from the girls but at the risk of walking on the road. Enough to distance herself from the other girls but at the risk of being a distraction to anyone that drives nearby.
He relaxed his expression but kept an eye on the girl, ignoring the ones that were swooning his way and turned back to follow everyone else ahead of him on the way to their destination: the hotel.
The building’s interior was like every other building. It wasn’t fancy similar to resorts and spas, but enough to be comfortable to live with without looking too flashy. The center where the reception desk is surrounded by two story rows of rooms where the sky-like painted ceiling felt like it was daylight that never fades to darkness, making it feel so small despite the building being 2 stories high. Is this what heaven feels like, he thought. If it was, then it would be enough to hear the ocean waves without a single care in the world. Dropping the heavy work he’s putting himself into by that point to take a short moment to stare at the beauty of the sky and sea.
As the class of university students head to the designated hotel room, not far from the port, the professor and a chaperone come together to organize how the trip would work out considering the timing of beach season may affect their education, even if they were still young and about. For a moderate size, it should be no problem to the two as they plan out the rules that apply the entire time of the week-long trip.
The only rule that were laid out for the students is that they can only come in pairs through a buddy system during down time in fear of losing people like other schools that had to deal with reports of missing people, which was understandable considering the crime rate in the town is safer than Cancun but it wouldn’t hurt to be extra cautious when strolling around the streets.
The first day was unfortunately sluggish for everyone. Despite having the students lounging around the main lobby of the hotel wanting to explore the area of Puerto Vallarta, shopping or otherwise, the only thing they can do at the time was wait until tomorrow where they can finally do the things they want to do that doesn’t involve studying and collecting climate data.
After finally settling in, the professor and the chaperone finalized everything planned for the trip, something that should’ve been done back at the university prior to the trip but regardless of the disorganization, it was enough to relax for the first day from there on out.
Everyone was assigned partners for the remainder of the trip, and bunked with one another. While others sigh in disappointment that they weren’t with the partner they have wanted, some were gleeful as they all headed to their assigned hotel room for the night. Sounds of luggage and bags shuffling through the air and bounding against the stairs, people chattering away as they enter the up and downstairs rooms.
No matter what roommate Jotaro has for the remainder of the trip, as long it isn’t someone that invade his privacy and away from anyone familiar to the business he once stuck his head first into during the start of his adulthood, things would go smoothly as all he ever wanted was simple peace and quiet for the remainder of his life…
Jotaro, on the other hand, was left waiting for his assigned roommate in his hotel room with the phone close to his ear while doing so. Over the phone is his grandpa Joseph, discussing private matters, most likely familial topics before shifting into Stand business. Luckily, no one is around to hear the conversation in case the roommate arrives. Especially now and after the 50-day trip, it has been a sore subject Jotaro had to go through as he just wanted to move past it as much as he possibly could as it’s no longer his responsibility anymore.
“I know you don’t want to get involved in this…Stand user nonsense, but since you’re over in Mexico for the week, do you think there could be any Stands over there? I know you’re mostly busy with your studies but with you getting older and the Speedwagon Foundation struggling to find anyone to do Stand work, do you think it’s possible they’re out there?”
“You should find someone else to do the work instead, I don’t want to get back into doing that Stand business, you know this” Jotaro pinches the bridge of his nose, frustrated at the thought of having to deal with one, not after defeating a vampire with a Stand that is equally if not stronger than his own. “I just want to move on from it and don’t want to use it again.”
“I understand that you’re in university to get that degree,” Joseph replied, “but you don’t know when Stands will eventually come back to your lifetime. Just know that whatever happens, just let me know. Who knows, maybe those Stand Arrows must be where you’re studying.” The older Joestar smiles at his grandson, trying to lighten up the conversation to cheer him up. “You’re stronger than this, and you know what? You defeated Dio so anything is possible for you now.”
Jotaro nods back at him, smiling a bit to cheer up. “...Fine, I’ll see what I can do but I don’t think there would be any Stand at least where I am now. Everything should be alright where I am so —”
Just as Jotaro could finish his sentence, there was a knock on the door. It was the roommate that he will bunk for the trip. He turns to put down the phone to continue his conversation with Joseph later.
By the time he ended his phone call, it was already too late, which makes him wonder what they have been doing for some reason. As the door slowly opened, it was a silhouette of a woman. It was the girl that he bumped into earlier today and it was obvious from how she stood and how tired her dark eyes were, she was his roommate.
“Hey there, it’s nice to meet you.” As the girl enters the room, she gives out a simple gesture to Jotaro without a single word or greeting before settling her things onto her side of the bed.
She stops unpacking her things and leans against the nightstand, sighing in discomfort before facing him. “S-sorry…I gotta use the bathroom, do you think you can watch over my stuff?” She stares at the Joestar, before breaking eye contact and makes a beeline to the shared bathroom, assuming she may have experienced a stomach ache and couldn’t hold back? Whatever it is, it’s not Jotaro’s issue to deal with and leaves to search his second luggage, abandoning her luggage that was supposed to be watched over…
Locking the door from behind with a click, the girl slides her back against the door and slowly pulls out a polaroid photo of Jotaro from a distance. Pulling down the black mask on her face, she starts to hyperventilate a bit, trembling at the photo of him out of anxiousness. Her heart was thumping from the adrenaline at the Joestar.
“Could this be…?” She murmurs to herself, eyes widened at the picture with a letter sent to her that was crumpled in her pocket, making sure that he could be the person she was looking for based on the hand pin on the front crown of his hat. Based on the photo and his current appearance, it was identical and confirms he was truly the person she was seeking.
“Finally…I found him.”
