I think Zoro is the type to not care about normal gifts, like doesn’t feel loved from them, BUT— 

What he does care about are well loved hand-me-downs. 

Robin gives him a bookmark that she’s used for years and the edges are all crumbled? Treasure that.

Franky’s getting rid of an old work bench that he’s upgraded but it’s falling apart from use? That’s Zoro’s new weights bench. 

Usopp’s pre-timeskip bandana that’s got a rip and tear in it? That’s on Zoro’s arm now. 

There’s a single pen stashed in his locker, it’s Nami’s.

Luffy’s never owned anything but the clothes on his back, but Zoro’s favorite shirt is patched with fabric from Luffy’s old vest. 

And the Cook… 

Well Sanji doesn’t know, and what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. He broke a knife once, one that he had brought from the Baratie.

He was getting frustrated with a sea king dish he was preparing and the blade ended up snapping cleanly in half. Sanji had been equal parts outraged at the blade’s failure, and ashamed at himself for ruining a good knife.

Zoro had happened to be in the room (looking for booze) and Sanji had shoved the knife into his hands, told him to chuck it overboard so Sanji didn’t have to see it again. 

Zoro had grumbled. He’d gone out to the deck and, as instructed, threw the snapped-off end into the sea.

He kept the other half, though. The part with the handle. 

Perfectly good, perfectly sharp, perfectly used and broken in. 

He’s used it as a straight razor ever since, hidden beneath his bathroom supplies (3-in-1 soap) so Sanji doesn’t question it.

Maybe, if anyone confronted him, he’d say he’s just being practical. It’s all stuff that’s still useful, clearly. 

But maybe, when he’s drunk his weight in saké and is in just the right mood, he’ll admit it’s because whenever he uses those items he thinks of his crew.

And Zoro loves his crew.
