Chenford + 'I can't be your aide anymore' 🧡
Lucy paced around the bullpen and began to nervously bite the nail on her thumb. She didn’t know how she had messed up this bad. Falling for her training officer turned Sergeant? She thought she had put all relationships with co-workers behind her when she and Nolan broke up rookie year.
Lucy sighed and stopped biting her nail. There was an easy fix to this; she knew what she had to do, but she didn’t want to. Tim was her best friend – she didn’t want to stop riding with him. Tim, the man who held her while she cried over Jackson, who saved her from a serial killer and always pushed her to be the better version of herself. She straightened her back and began walking towards Tim’s desk. She had to do this, because she couldn’t lose him.
She gave a soft smile when she sees him at his desk with his forehead scrunched up with wrinkles. He was no doubt putting in the paperwork from their recent arrest, and he was not having fun doing it. She paused as he yawned and put his hand over his mouth. Maybe now wasn’t a good time? She strengthened her resolve. She whispered under her breath, “it’s now or never, I guess.”
“Tim.”
He looked up from his stack of paperwork and gave her a small smile as she approached his desk. She returned the smile.
“I just wanted to give you a heads up that I’m requesting to partnered with Nolan for future assignments. I’m not going to be your aide anymore.” She took a deep breath and waited as she searched for the understanding and any other emotion he might have to dance across his face.
His tired eyes met hers, “okay. Goodnight, Officer Chen.”
She felt her eyes widen. He wasn’t going to try to convince her to change her mind? She stumbled out a “goodnight” and began walking towards the locker room. Lucy felt the hot tears start to pool in her eyes. She thought he might at least be upset.
As Lucy disappeared from his view, Tim saw Angela walking toward him and he let out the deep sigh that he had been holding.
“What the hell was that? What did you say to her Bradford.” Angela looked at Tim accusingly.
Tim looked toward Angela with big eyes and shrugged his shoulders. “What are you talking about? She told me that she didn’t want to ride with me anymore and I said okay, goodnight.”
Angela slaps the back of Tim’s head. “Ow, what was that for?”
“Are you really that stupid?” Angela questions with a hard look on her face.
Tim looks up at her where she’s leaned against his desk. “What? I’m not going to try to change her mind. When Lucy’s got her mind set on something, she’s going to do it. There was no use in trying to question it.”
Angela rolled her eyes. “Tim, she was practically crying as she walked away from you. Did you stop to think about why she didn’t want to ride with you anymore?”
She waited for the recognition to light in Tim’s eyes. Angela watched as Tim finally met her eyes and abruptly stood up.
“I have to go.” Tim states simply.
“You bet your ass you do.” Angela gives him a crooked smile. “Go get her, Bradford.”

To the Rescue
request: Will you do a Luke Alvez x Reader Drabble where you’re taken by an Unsub and he just barely rescues you and it’s all fluff and all love and all goodness!
a/n: part 2 will contain the fluff !
....
Luke paced around the bullpen anxiously. You weren’t answering any of his texts or calls. Normally, this wouldn’t worry him. He knew you usually took a while to respond, but right now the team had just gotten a case in D.C. and the unsub’s type fit you exactly. When he had seen the pictures of the unsub’s victims, it felt like he had been drenched in ice water. They could have been your mirror image.
He nervously dialed your number again and put the phone up to his ear, “c’mon, c’mon Y/N. Please pick up.”
“Hey, this is Y/N! Leave a message and I’ll call you back.” Your bubbly voice resounded in his ear. Luke quietly cursed to himself. He was going to have to ask Garcia to ping your phone.
Luke practically ran to where Garcia was sitting with Emily in the conference room. “Hey, uh, Garcia. I need you to ping Y/N’s phone for me please.”
Penelope quirked her eyebrow questioningly, but began typing on her tablet.
Emily looked at him concerned, “Luke, what’s wrong?”
“Y/N fits the unsub’s type and I can’t get her on the phone. Oh god... what if he has her Emily.” He was very quickly breaking down and he knew that, but the thought of a serial killer kidnapping you was enough to make him panic.
Emily nodded, “Garcia, did you find anything?”
Garcia stared at her tablet, “Yeah, her phone last pinged right outside your apartment complex. But that was three hours ago.”
“Penelope! Where is she now?” Luke took a shuddering breath. He had to remain rational. Maybe you had turned your phone off for some reason once you were in the apartment.
Please. Please. Please. Be in the apartment Y/N.
“Here is the video footage from the camera near where her phone was last pinged.” Garcia pressed play and the three of them watched as you walked down the sidewalk.
Luke’s breath hitched in his throat as he saw a man approach you and start talking. No alarms bells appeared to be going off in your head. You seemed calm. You pointed down the street and the man nodded his head. As soon as you turned your back, the man forced a cloth over your mouth.
“Oh my god.” Penelope breathed out. They were watching your abduction.
Luke watched as you resisted at first then quickly surrendered to the drugs. Your limp body was then thrown into a nearby van. The whole interaction had take 2 minutes.
“Damn it!” Luke tightened his hand into a first and punched the table. He tightly closed his eyes with his fist resting on the table. Truth be told, it was the only thing keeping him from falling over right now. God, this couldn’t be happening.
“Penelope, track that van and run facial rec. I’m going to get the team.” Emily commanded as she stood up.
She walked over and placed a hand on Luke’s shoulder. “We’re going to get her back Luke.”
Luke bit his lip. He wasn’t one to cry in front of others, but right now, he was fighting like hell to not break down sobbing in the conference room. He pushed himself up off the table. There was only one thought running through his mind now - he had to get you back.
....
You groggily shook your head. Where were you?
You winced as the memories came flooding back to you. Shit. Someone had kidnapped you. Panic began to overtake you and you struggled against the restraints that we hanging you from the ceiling.
How could you have been so stupid. You had pepper spray and you hadn’t even used it. Luke would be so disappointed that you hadn’t fought back hard enough. Luke.
You took a deep breath to keep from crying. Luke was going to find you. You had to believe that.
Footsteps sounded from the hallway near where you were being held. Your eyes widened. Oh god, he was probably a serial killer. You couldn’t survive this. Luke was the tough one in your relationship. He was strong and good and could handle all the bad that the world had to offer. You couldn’t.
He was going to save you. Luke was coming for you.
You pulled against your restraints as hard as you could as a man appeared in front of you with a knife. You cried as you felt him press the cool metal of the blade against your throat.
His breath fanned your face and he smiled, “I’m gonna have fun with you.”
....
Luke paced the floor and exhaustedly ran his hands through his hair. “What are we missing? We have to be missing something,” he demanded looking around to the team members who were tirelessly working in the bullpen.
“Luke,” Emily started gently, “it’s been 3 days. You haven’t left and you’ve barely slept. You need a break.”
Luke scoffed, “do you think she’s gotten a break from the unrelenting hell this unsub is no doubt putting her through?” Heavy silence met his rhetorical question.
“Yeah, me neither. Emily we’re running out of time. He keeps them for 4 days at most. He tortures them, brands them, then dumps their body; and I.. I can’t -“ his voice broke.
Emily stepped towards him and looked him in the eye, “Luke, we can’t think like that. Okay? We’re missing something. You’ve studied this case more than anyone. What are we missing?”
Luke stared at the board in response. What was he missing?
“Hey Spencer!” he began putting together the dots of thoughts in his mind.
Spencer looked up from where he was sitting at his desk, “yeah?”
“Do you have that geological profile?” Spencer nodded and held the map up, which Luke snatched out of his hand.
Luke slammed the paper on the table, “there it is! the letters are of the streets the bodies were found are spelling out my name. Atlantic Street, Lawrence Avenue, Victor Street, East Capital. There’s no Z because that’s where he has her.”
Prentiss’ eyes widened. “Spencer, what street names in D.C. start with a Z?”
Spencer racked his brain, “There’s only one. It’s called Zei Alley. It’s two minutes away from the White House. Do we think he’s that bold?”
“No, I think he’s that stupid.” Luke grabbed the keys from his desk and paused when no one was moving. “Let’s go! He kills them at that location on the 4th day. She doesn’t have that much time.”
Prentiss nodded, “you heard the man. let’s go save Y/N.”
....
Your body was on fire. Anytime you moved, you felt the sharp sting of the cuts that littered your body. Luckily, he hadn’t cut too deeply. Unluckily, everything he did seemed to be because he wanted to cause you maximum pain.
You tried to lift yourself up on the top of your tip toes to give your arms some much needed relief. Being shackled from the ceiling was torture in itself.
You felt tears fall freely from your face as you heard footsteps coming toward you. You closed your eyes in dread. You knew what was coming, and you couldn’t take anymore.
“Please, please stop,” you sobbed.
“Shhh. It’ll all be over soon.” He grunted as he lifted your body against his so that he could undo your chains. He let your arms fall unceremoniously to your sides.
You screamed at the blinding pain that was taking over you. If you thought your arms had hurt before, boy were you wrong.
Your captor sneered at you, “Oh, shut up.”
He placed some a damp cloth against your mouth, and you welcomed the sweet darkness that it brought with it.
...
It wasn’t long before the team arrived at the location that the ubsub was going to bring you to. There was no sign of you yet, but everyone was waiting undercover and ready to jump in the second they saw you.
After 2 hours of waiting, a white van pulled up by Zei alley.
Luke immediately brought the team’s attention to this new development. “Guys, I’ve got a white van by the alley.”
Emily looked over the newspaper that she was holding as she sat on a bench. “I’ve got eyes on the van.”
They watched as the driver got out and approached the passenger side. He pulled the passenger out and help them up.
“Passenger looks unconscious. This is definitely our guy. Move in.” Prentiss commanded.
As the unsub shuffled you into the alley, he was surrounded. He held your body close to his and used you as a shield for protection.
Luke’s breath caught in his throat. You weren’t even awake. You couldn’t fight back. He wanted to scream in anger - how was this fair?
Luke licked his lips as he was thinking and his eyes darted between you and the unsub. “Okay, I’m going to put my gun away, and they’re going to back up, okay?” Luke slowly placed his weapon in its holster.
The unsub tightened his grip around you and shoved the knife deeper into your throat, so droplets of blood were now appearing on your skin.
“Hey, hey, look. You want me, right? That’s why you were spelling out Alvez, huh? Now take me instead of her okay?” At this point Luke was practically begging, but he didn’t care.
“You don’t want it to go down like this, okay man? You don’t wanna do this,” Luke pleaded.
The unsub was seemingly persuaded and loosened his grip on you for a second. A look of hatred flashed in his eyes. “You’re wrong,” he snarled and plunged the knife into your side.
....
You were trying so hard to open your eyes. Something was going on, but you couldn’t open your eyes. You thought you heard Luke’s voice faintly come in and out of focus. “down....don’t wanna..”
Was Luke coming to save you?
You suddenly felt a searing pain in your side and immediately screamed Luke’s name.
Gunshots sounded and you fell to the ground with the unsub. Everything was hazy and pain was consuming all your senses, but you knew without a shadow of a doubt when someone picked you up that it was Luke.
Your eyes kept fluttering open. Trying to stay conscious to see Luke was hard.
“Hey, hey, hey. I need you to stay awake for me Y/N. Can you do that?” Luke pleaded with you. His voice was like crystal water washing over you. So refreshing. Just what you wanted and exactly what you needed.
Even though you were pretty sure you were bleeding out, his voice was enough to make you quirk the side of your mouth into a slight smile. You knew you couldn’t talk, but you kept your eyes open long enough to meet Luke’s concerned gaze for a second before finally falling unconscious.
“No. No. Don’t do this Y/N.” He grabbed your face in his hands. “Come on. Please...” Tears were freely falling from his eyes and he desperately held pressure to your wound while begging you, pleading with you to stay with him.
In a second, medics ripped you from his arms and began applying pressure to your stab wound. They rushed to place you on the gurney and into the ambulance. Luke blindly followed them, unwilling to be apart from you for even a second.

Could you do a drabble about Spencer bopping noses with reader during work to see them smile? 🥺
Unsolvable
You sighed in frustration. This case that you were consulting on was unsolvable. You had been studying it for hours and nothing made sense. The unsub displayed no clear motive for his killings and the victims were seemingly random.
You looked around the bullpen for a possible distraction. Spencer saw your searching glances and nodded toward the break room. You quickly picked up your empty coffee mug off your desk and headed that way.
He tentatively grabbed your mug from your grasp and began refilling it for you. “Okay, what’s wrong Y/N. You’ve been frowning at your desk for the past 46 minutes.”
You threw your hands up in frustration, “Spence, this case is unsolvable.”
He raised an eyebrow, “when have you ever thought a case was unsolvable?”
“I’m not kidding. It’s a trainwreck. Spencer, transfer me some of your intelligence please,” you pratically begged.
He cheekily grinned in response. “You know, I don’t think that’s possible.”
You dramatically pouted at him and grumbled “you just don’t want to share.”
Spencer stifled a laugh at your response and set down your coffee mug. “Okay. Come here.”
You shuffled toward him and put your arms around his waist. He looked down at you and you met his gaze with furrowed brows.
He grinned at you and gently booped your nose with his. He held his nose on yours a second before moving to give your forehead a kiss. “Transfer complete.”
You laughed and hugged him tighter, “Spencer, you’re such a dork.”
Spencer goofily smiled at you, “But I’m your dork.”
You rested your chin on his chest, “true.”
He gave you a quick peck on the lips. “Go solve your case.”
You happily hummed in response and made your way back to your desk. Maybe you could solve this case.

Wear My Clothes
spencer reid x plus!sized fem!reader
summary: you want to wear Spencer’s clothes, but can’t fit them.
...
You angrily balled up Spencer’s shirt in your hands. Spencer was so skinny that you never had imagined you’d be able to fit his shirts, but you had tried anyways. You couldn’t even fit your arms in the sleeves. You sighed and gently picked at the buttons which were obviously not going to button and bit your lip. Was there something so wrong about wanting to wear your boyfriend’s clothes?
You quickly straightened out the balled up shirt and replaced it on the hanger before you started crying. You grabbed your big t-shirt that was laying on the bed and fumbled putting it back on.
You had decided to try on his shirt when Spencer was out on a case, because you didn’t want to cry in front of him. Spencer was kind, and you knew that if Spencer had seen you crying in his clothes, he would have moved moutains to convince you that you were beautiful. But, you didn’t want to hear that. You just wanted to fit effortlessly into your boyfriend’s clothes.
You trudged back into the closet and hung his purple button-up back in its place. Your gaze lingered a little longer on his section of the closet before you closed the door.
You sniffled as you crawled into bed. Spencer was coming back home tomorrow, you should just focus on that.
... later that week ...
Spencer swirled his coffee around in his mug. You had been feeling down the past week and Spencer couldn’t figure out why. When he had gotten home from the last case and unpacked, he noticed some of his clothes were out of place. Were you unhappy with him? Were you packing up his stuff? Did you want him to leave?
Emily and J.J. walked into the breakroom as Spencer sipped his coffee while deep in thought.
The women looked at Spencer and then each other. J.J. cleared her throat and Spencer looked up.
“Oh, hi guys.”
J.J. furrowed her brow, “okay, what’s wrong.”
Spencer sighed deeply, “I think Y/N is unhappy with me and wants me to move out.”
Emily scoffed and had to control herself from rolling her eyes. You and Spencer were so in love with each other that something else definitely had to be going on. “Okay genius, why do you think that.”
“Because everything points to that!” Spencer was beginning to get frustrated and hurt at the thought of you kicking him out.
“Okay Spence, you’re going to have to be a little more specific.” J.J. gently patted his arm and led him over to sit at the table.
“Well.. she’s been unhappy all week...” Spencer began stumbling over his words, “and... and when I came home from the last case some of my clothes were out of place. I really think she wants me to move out and this is her way of telling me.”
Emily and J.J. couldn’t help but share a look and chuckle at Reid.
He pouted and was beginning to grow frustrated, “nevermind guys.”
He started to stand up and march away when J.J. gently stopped him. “Spence, we’re not laughing because we think she’s going to break up with you. We’re laughing because you’re so dense.”
Spencer looked at her confused, “what?”
“Spencer, I wear Will’s shirts to bed all the time. They’re comfy.”
Soencer softened at this, “you think she’s wearing my clothes when I’m on a case?”
“I always take one of Will’s shirts with me when we’re gone. It smells like him and reminds me of who’s waiting for me back home.”
At this, Emily chimed in, “yeah! She probably just misses you, Spencer.”
J.J. cleared her throat and looked down at her own mug that was in her hand. “and um.. I think the reason that she’s unhappy is that she misses you and wants to wear your clothes...” J.J. trailed off.
“Well, I don’t have a problem with her wearing my clothes.” Spencer furrowed his brow,” Why would she be unhappy?”
Emily scoffed, “well Spencer, you’re kind of a stick. You weigh like what 130? 140?”
Realization dawned on Spencer. “She wants to wear them, but they don’t fit her,” he breathed out.
“Yeah.” J.J. said.
Spencer jumped up from the table and rushed toward the door while yelling back a quick “thanks!” to Emily and J.J.
Spencer wasted no time in going to the nearest store and buying a variety of men’s clothing in your size. He changed into one of the dressier shirts in his car and tucked the excess material into his waistband. He finished off the outfit by throwing a sweater over his shirt so the fact that it was larger wasn’t as noticeable. He quickly headed back to the office where everyone was gathered in the briefing room.
Hotch looked up from his notes as Reid walked in, “you’re late.”
Spencer looked at him apologetically as Garcia started presenting the case.
The briefing was over in a few minutes with Hotch announcing wheels up in 20. The team was going to Idaho for a case, which was perfect for Spencer’s plan.
Spencer dialed your number on his phone and waited for you to pick up.
He smiled when your soft voice answered, “Hey, Spence.”
“Hey, Y/N. We just got a case, so the team’s going to be heading up to Idaho.”
You hummed in response. “Do you know when you’ll be home?”
Spencer frowned, “Not for a few days at least, but I won’t know until we get to the local PD and start a preliminary profile.”
You sighed. “Okay, call me before going to bed tonight? I love you, Spence.”
“I will. Love you, Y/N.” Spencer ended the call as Derek gestured for him to come on. Spencer hurriedly stuffed a couple of shirts that he bought that morning in his go bag and followed Derek out of the bullpen.
...
As soon as the plane took off, the team gathered around to try and start a profile. As Spencer was moving to be closer to the group, Emily noticed he was wearing different clothes than this morning.
She gave a slight smile before clearing her throat, “Spencer, did you change clothes?”
Spencer blushed at her question as J.J. gave a slight laugh, “Oh my god, he did.”
Morgan raised an eyebrow while looking at Spencer’s attire, “okay, what am I missing?”
Spencer mumbled “nothing,” while Emily and J.J. were both smiling widely at him.
J.J. walked by and tucked Spencer’s collar into his sweater. “He bought bigger shirts to wear so that they will fit his girlfriend. That way when she wants to wear his clothes while he’s gone, she can.”
Derek ruffled Spencer’s hair, “Uh, oh. Pretty boy’s got moves.”
Spencer was blushing wildly now as the team’s continued to coo over how romantic he was. Even Hotch had a small smile as he flipped through the case file.
Garcia popped up on the screen, and Spencer hurriedly changed the topic back to the case, “Garcia, anything new?”
“Yes actually, a new body was just found outside of Boise, I am sending the new information to your tabl- wait, Spencer are you blushing?”
The team stifled their laughs as Derek waved at Garcia, “hey, thank you babygirl. I’ll fill you in later.”
Garcia winked at him, “looking forward to it. Garcia out.”
...
The case had only lasted a few days, and Spencer was more than ready to see you, and you were currently propped on the couch anxiously waiting to see him.
As soon as you heard the key turn in the door, you shuffled to the door. Spencer entered the apartment and tossed his bags on the ground. As he closed the door and turned to you, you bolted into his open arms. You nuzzled your head into his chest and breathed deeply. “I missed you.”
“You know studies have shown that women report feeling comforted when smelling their partner’s scent, and some research has even found that cortisol levels are reduced in stressful situations when paired with a loved one’s scent.”
“Hmm, interesting.” You said as you cuddled into him.
Spencer chuckled and kissed the top of your head. “I know for a fact that I feel more at home with your arms wrapped around me.”
You leaned up your head up slightly so you could see his expression - you smiled broadly when all you saw was Spencer’s look of adoration. He leaned down and gently placed a kiss on your lips. You hummed contentedly. You lingered in Spencer’s arms for a second more before breaking away to grab his bag and take it to the bedroom.
You started unzipping his bag, so that you could throw his clothes in the washer with yours, but Spencer quickly caught your hand in his.
“Y/N... I don’t want you to be offended.” Spencer started.
You furrowed your brows confused as to what Spencer meant. “Why would I be offended?”
“Well before I left I noticed that you were feeling down, and.. well you know I hate it when you feel like that. I wanted to do anything and everything I could to make you feel better, but I couldn’t figure out what was bothering you.” Spencer was talking rapidly now and you sighed deeply.
“Spencer-“ you started. You wanted to reassure him that nothing was wrong, but he cut you off before you finish your thought.
“No... just let me finish. I talked with J.J. and Emily about it, and they gave me a hint as to what might have been wrong. After thinking about it, I came to the same conclusion, but I don’t want it to offend you if I’m wrong.”
“Spencer, I know you would never purposely offend me. Will you please let me open the bag?”
Spencer obliged and moved his hand from ontop of yours. You looked at him for a second to study his expression. He looked slighty worried, but also eager? You couldn’t wrap your head around what would be in the bag to make him feel this way.
You hesitantly unzipped the bag and pulled out a white button-down. You gave Spencer a confused look, “You got new clothes?”
Spencer nodded.
You held up the first shirt that you had grabbed and saw that it was your size. You continued to pull out a couple more button-downs, setting them gently on the bed. You brought one up to your nose and inhaled deeply. They smelled like Spencer. Tears began prickling at your eyes and you looked toward Spencer.
He looked as you held up his shirt with tears in your eyes and immediately began to panic. You looked so hurt, and he had done this. “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I’ll throw them away.”
He reached for the shirt and you jerked it out of his reach, “No!”
Spencer tilted his head confused, “what’s wrong? why are you crying?”
You began crying harder. Spencer was so clueless to how sweet and romantic this gesture was. He stepped forward and enveloped you in his arms. “Talk to me, Y/N.”
You nuzzled into his chest and gripped his shirt tighter as he petted your hair.
“Spencer-“ you broke from his embrace and placed one hand on his cheek. “this is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.”
He let out a relieved sigh and started rambling, “I’m so glad you like it.. J.J. said you probably miss me when I go on cases and she likes to wear Will’s shirts, but you don’t have any of mine to wear. So I wore them for this case so they would have my scent on them. You know experts actually don’t know how long it takes for a shirt to smell like you, so I just estimated based on what was available from the research, and -“
You chuckled and stood on your tip toes to plant a kiss on his lips, “I love you Spencer Reid.”
He smiled and caught your lips in another kiss, “I love you Y/N.”

Spencer Reid x reader who LOVES for him to lay on top of them? They like the weight but he feels like he's crushing them? If that sounds okay
here you go anon! hope you like it 🥰
Lay On Me
spencer reid x reader
.....
It had started off small. Spencer intertwining your legs together as you drifted off. Him nuzzling his head into your neck and smushing himself as close as he could to your side.
Eventually, one night when you couldn’t sleep, you thought about asking him to lay on you.
You bit your lip. You didn’t want to bother him while he was propped up reading on his side of the bed, but you were exhausted and scared. “Spence?” you asked tentatively.
His brows furrowed as he looked up from his book, “what’s wrong Y/N.”
“Well, you know how you always sleep close to me?” Spencer nodded. “It’s really comfortable, but... I want to try something else.”
Spencer placed his book on the nightstand and looked at you curiously waiting for you to continue. “I want you to lay on top of me,” you blurted.
Spencer’s eyes widened and you took this as a blatant no. You curled up under the covers and turned away, “Never mind. Forget I said anything.”
He quickly grabbed your shoulder and turned you back toward him. “No! I..I think that would be nice.”
Your eyes lit up. “Really?”
“Well, yeah.. I want to be as close to you as possible. But..” he hesitated a second. “Wouldn’t I crush you?”
You laughed. “Spencer, you are literally as light as a feather. You definitely wouldn’t crush me. Can we try it now?”
Spencer gave you a quick peck to your temple. “Anything for you.”
He gently climbed on top of you and nestled his head into the crook of your neck. You could tell he was holding back from putting his full weight on you, so you wrapped your arms around him and gave him a little squeeze.
He leaned his head up so he could see your face, “are you sure I’m not hurting you, Y/N?”
You let out a small chuckle and pulled him closer to you. “Spence, you’re so nice and warm. You’re not crushing me. Please don’t move.”
With that assurance, Spencer relaxed his body and placed his head back into the crook of your neck. You sighed contently.
There was something so comfortable, so right, about his body draped over yours. He was your warm security blanket in a cold uncertain world.

For Him
spencer reid x fem!reader
summary: The team is working a case when things start to go awry. After Spencer and reader get kidnapped, some feelings come to light that will change the way they look at each other.
tw: typical criminal minds stuff - kidnapping, mentions of murder
.......
It was a blistering day in Fort Worth, Texas. The team had just landed to investigate a serial killer who was abducting couples and holding them for days before eventually killing them. Hotch started giving out orders as the team began walking from the airplane to the SUVs waiting for them.
“Y/N, Spencer. You go to visit the most recent crime scene. See if you can find anything the local PD missed.”
You nodded and looked toward Spencer who was already smiling your way. You stuck your tongue out playfully at him. He stifled a laugh as Hotch continued to give assignments to the rest of the team. As soon as he finished, the team split up to their own SUVs, with you, Spencer, J.J. and Emily piling into one.
It was a short ride to the first crime scene where Emily dropped you both off before her and J.J. headed to the M.E.’s office. You walked to the police tape and Spencer held it up, so you could easily duck under it.
You entered the house with Spencer following closely behind you. You crossed your hands over your chest. “First impressions?”
“Well, C.O.D. is probably blunt force trauma. If you look at the blood spatter patterns, you can see that the woman was probably sitting here when she was beaten.” Spencer stated.
At this point, you chime in. “Yeah and he had to position the man right here. So he could see everything that the unsub was doing. Positioning may be important to this unsub.”
Spencer paused. “It’s interesting that he beats the women so severely, while the man is relatively untouched, besides the single bullet wound to the head of course.”
“So his rage is against the woman in the relationship. Not surprising. There are a lot of guys out there with hatred toward women.” You half-joked.
Spencer nodded. “The only problem is that we don’t know what’s driving his anger toward these women.”
“We’ll have Garcia check if there are any recent incidents involving violence with women in relationships. I think we can omit domestic violence cases though. This kind of beating is the result of a lot of suppressed rage. Let’s see if we can catch a ride with some of the local PD back to the station.” You shot Spencer a small smile as you walked away from him to talk to a local officer.
.......
As soon as you arrived at the police station, you and Spencer split up. You sought out Hotch to bounce some theories off him of what the crime scene could mean. Spencer quickly busied himself by calling Garcia to ask about violence toward couples excluding domestic violence cases.
“Hotch!” you called out as you saw him walking across the precinct.
He raised his eyebrow in response and waited for you to catch up with him.
“It seems like all the violence is toward the woman. But the thing is, it seems staging is important to this unsub. Spence is having Pen look into cases where there is violence against couples, especially women, but omitting the domestic violence cases.” You stated.
“Good work, Y/L/N. It’s possible that the unsub is sympathetic toward the male in the relationship, which is why he kills them so quickly.”
Your eyes light up. “You know, Hotch. He might see himself as helping these men. Since he makes the men watch before killing them, it’s possible he always wanted to do this to his significant other, but something was stopping him. This could be revenge toward the woman but a mercy kill for the man.”
Hotch nodded. “Let’s go see what Emily and J.J. found out from the medical examiner and then give the profile.”
Emily confirmed that C.O.D. was blunt force trauma for the female victim and gun shot wound for the male victim. Hotch shared your preliminary profile with the team, who added some more possibilities to the mix. Just as the team was finishing up the profile, Garcia called Morgan’s phone.
“Whatcha got baby girl?” Derek asked.
“Well my hunky crimefighter, I am coming up with nada. That is a big ole zilch. There is nothing here with violence against couples that isn’t domestic abuse. If you could give me some more parameters, I might have more luck?” Garcia quickly stated.
“Okay, try men whose girlfriends or wives have left them recently.” You started.
Spencer chimed in, “they might have left because of a specific incident that revealed to them the unsub’s true nature.”
“Also, look at any cases that have ended violently, with one of the couple in the hospital,” Derek added.
“You all are wonderful. Just WONDERFUL. I am working on it know. Hit you back when I have something. Garcia out.” Penelop stated, already typing away.
“J.J. and Rossi, you stay here, we’re going to give the profile to the local PD. Emily and Derek, you go talk with the recent female victim’s family. Spencer and Y/N, go talk with the male victim’s family.” Hotch stated.
The team looked at each other for a second before breaking to do their respective duties.
.......
You and Spencer finished talking to the victim’s family and headed out the door of their house. You sighed as you looked at Spencer. “Better call Hotch.”
“Hotchner.”
“Yeah Hotch, we just finished up with the victim’s family. They don’t know anything. They say that the couple was happy. Nothing to report on this end...” You started your report just as you got an oncoming call from Garcia, “Um, hold up Hotch. Garcia’s calling.”
You added Garcia to the call, “Garcia, you have me, Spencer, and Hotch.”
“Okay my lovely doves, I found information on a Jacob Waterson. 28 year-old white male. Recently seperated from his wife after an incident.” Garcia started.
“What was the incident Garcia?” Spencer asked.
“Ah ah ah, I’m just about to tell you! Stop stealing my thunder.” Penelope scolded, “When the couple was walking back home from a date, gang members approached them. In strange fashion, they let the woman flee, but beat Jacob to a pulp. Put him in the hospital for 2 weeks.”
“Did the woman call for help after she ran away.” Hotch questioned.
“Hmmm, yes... it looks like she reported it a day later to the police. Said she was too scared the day it happened. Someone who was walking by the alley later that night found him.”
“Hence his rage toward women in relationships,” you stated.
“Y/N and Spencer are closer to his home. I’m sending you his address now.”
Your phone dinged with a notification, “I got it Garcia. We’re on our way.” You put the SUVs’ lights on and turned the car toward the address.
“Be careful. I’m sending Morgan and J.J. for backup. Rossi, Emily, and I will check out his work address,” Hotch stated.
.......
You made your way out of the car and hesitantly placed your hand on your holstered gun.
“I’ll knock on the front entrance, and you go to the back. Sound good?” You asked.
Spencer hesitated before he agreed with you. “Just be careful, okay?”
You gave him a small smile, “always brainiac.”
He gave you an awkward pat on the back before he headed behind the house pulling his gun out of its holster.
You couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at Spencer’s awkwardness. He had to know by now that you liked him more than an awkward pat on the back, right?
“Ughh, focus Y/N,” you whisper to yourself as you pull out your own gun. You approach the house and harshly knock on the door.
“Jacob Waterson, this is the F.B.I. Open the door.” You shouted. After a few seconds of no response, you kicked in the door.
You cleared the first room and started the second room. As you walked into the second room, you were hit with a blunt object. You fell to the ground and struggled to maintain your grip on your gun. You fired off a shot at the unsub, but you were too disoriented to see if you had actually hit him before he hit you again and you passed out.
After hearing a gunshot, Spencer hurriedly cleared the rooms closest to him before heading toward the room where he heard the shot go off. He immediately saw you on the floor, but cleared the room before approaching you. While he was checking your pulse, he heard a shuffle behind him and turned just in time to be hit by the end of a bat.
........
You woke up disoriented. After blinking a few times, your vision settled and you tried to move. When you were unable to move your hands, you looked down to see your wrists had been tied together with some rope.
You looked around the room to take note of your surroundings. Spencer was still unconscious across the room from you. There was no light or windows. Must be a basement. However, the structure doesn’t look like it belonged with the house that you had stormed earlier. You furrowed your brows in confusion. Secondary location?
The unsub wasn’t in the room with you, but there was no telling when he would come back. “Spence!” you whisper shouted. “Spence, I need you to wake up.”
Spencer drowsily came to and blinked his eyes. You smiled as he immediately looked toward the location your voice was coming from. “Spencer, hey.” You were relieved he wasn’t hit too hard by the unsub.
“Where are we?” His scratchy voice was music to your ears.
You sighed as you pulled at your restraints. “I’m not sure Spence. I’m thinking secondary location. This basement doesn’t look like it would connect to his house. What do you think?”
He cleared his throat. “What I think is that this unsub is extremely dangerous and is especially violent toward women. Y/N, you need to be careful.”
“Why don’t you stop worrying about me and work on finding us a way out of here, brainiac.”
Spencer smiled at the nickname you had given him lovingly. He looked toward the ground as he continued talking, not able to meet your gaze, “I just need you to be safe, okay?”
You stopped fiddling with your restraints and looked up at him. “You say that like you care about me, Spence.”
His cheeks turned crimson in a matter of seconds, “I do.. I do care about you Y/N,” he murmers lowly.
You tilt your head and look at him curiously. You had liked, as in really liked Reid for a while, but before you can interogate him about what exactly he means, you hear footsteps on the floor above you.
Jacob descended the stairs with a baseball bat in hand. He stared at you as he stalked toward you. He eyed you as if he were challenging you, and despite Spencer’s previous warning, you returned his harsh glare unwaveringly.
“Oh, we’ve got a fiesty one. Huh?” Jacob sneered at you.
You heard Spencer sigh from across the room and let out a soft, “Y/N, don’t do it.”
You swallowed your pride and broke the staring contest between you and the unsub. The unsub chuckled at your response to Spencer’s words. He looked between you and Spencer before his gaze ultimately landed on Spencer. “I see.” He began walking toward Spencer. “the way to get to you - ” he stated as he pointed his bat at you “is through him.”
The unsub swung his bat at Spencer and you heard a sickening crunch. God, you couldn’t just sit here and listen to this.
Before you knew it, the words were coming out of your mouth - “Stop! You want to know why you are the way you are - why you kill couples?” - you blurted out to stop him from advancing on Spencer.
You could take it - the unsub’s pain and anger. In your eyes, Spencer needed protecting. He didn’t need to be subject to the unsub’s rage. Especially since he had been through enough to last a lifetime already.
Spencer watched with horror as the unsub turned his attention to you. “Y/N, what are you doing?”
You ignored him and focused your attention on the unsub who was stalking toward you. His large hand wrapped around your throat.
“Oh, please tell me.” He said sarcastically as he applied pressure.
You began gasping for air and struggled to talk. “You kill couples... because... of your wife.”
This seemed to pique his interest as he abruptly go of your throat. You fell to the ground coughing as you tried to breath.
You faintly heard Spencer calling your name and pleading with you to stop talking. You squeezed your eyes shut for a second. If you were going to do this, you had to ignore Spencer.
The unsub tapped you with the baseball bat he held in his left hand. “You think you know so much? Kept talking.” He wrapped his other hand in your hair and yanked until you were standing up. “But it might cost you.”
Spencer pleaded with you once more. “Y/N. The team will find us. Please stop talking. You don’t have to do this.” With every statement he mumbled faster tripping over his words - his tell that he was nervous. You could practically hear the desperation in his voice.
The unsub looked toward Spencer. “If you don’t shut up, I’ll make you.”
You panicked as Spencer kept talking so that the unsub’s attention wasn’t on you. You had to get the focus back on you.
“Your wife ran away and left you to die when you were approached by gang members. You’ve been kidnapping couples, because you want to see if true love exists. Will someone die for their significant other?” You practically shouted to the unsub.
He cocked his eyebrow and pursed his lips. “Go on.”
You took a deep breath. This was for Spencer. You had to say something that would really get him riled up. “The truth is your wife lied to you. She never loved you.”
Anger flashed in the unsub’s eyes, and he hit you in the stomach with the butt of the bat. You grunted as he reared back for a second hit.
“You’re lyin’. She loved me.” He swung the bat this time at your mid section. You doubled over as pain immediately blossomed in your side. The sickening crunch that had accompanied the hit was definitely a sign of a few broken ribs.
“She didn’t Jacob. If she did, she would have been willing to die for you. That’s why you killed all these couples. When they’re willing to die for their partners, it just shows you what you never had.”
The unsub threw his bat across the room and punched you in your face. Your head lurched left at the strength of his hit, and he quickly followed it with another hit, effectively knocking you the ground. Because your hands were restrained, you couldn’t catch yourself from falling and your shoulder took the brunt of the fall. A loud pop followed by searing pain in your shoulder let you know that your shoulder was dislocated. A pained groan left your lips.
You knew you couldn’t keep doing this, but one look toward Spencer desperately trying to maneuver his restraints off his wrists quieted any reservations or weakness that you had. You were doing the right thing. You were doing this for Spencer. Your resolution hardened and you looked the unsub in the eye as he towered over you.
“The problem, Jacob, is the fact that you couldn’t have picked a better pair of FBI agents to kidnap.”
He snarled at you and gave you a swift kick to the side, “What do ya mean?”
You took a shuddering breath. “Well, you want to prove that people won’t die for their partners, and I would gladly die for him,” you said nodding over to Spencer, “because, I love him.” You squeezed your eyes closed to help block some of the oncoming pain that the unsub was no doubt going to inflict upon you based on your confession.
Spencer look wide-eyed at you after your confession. The unsub was standing between the two of you, and Spencer tilted his head to try and get a better look at you. He had to mouth the words. He had to yell it from the rooftops. He had to do something, anything. You had to know that he loved you too. Spencer let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding when he saw you physically shift, no doubt preparing yourself for the unsub’s attack.
Jacob was seething with rage at you. “You lyin’ bitch. You don’t love him.” He landed a series of swift kicks to you stomach. Everytime a hit landed, you felt your entire body cry out in pain.
“Y/N! Y/N! Look at me. I love you. I love you!” Spencer continue to plead with you to hang in there. He was helpless as he watched the unsub kick you around like a rag doll. He wanted you to know that he was here with you. He wanted to hold your hand and assure you that everything was going to be okay. Tears began falling down his face.
You heard Spencer faintly shout your name, but all of your concentration was going to the pain that your body was in. You eyes were already swelling from the impact of his earlier hits, and it took all your remaining energy to look at Spencer through the slit of one of your eyes and give him a small smile. You passed out as the unsub continued his relentless attack against you.
Just after you lost consciousness and your body went completely limp, Spencer heard the sirens. The team was coming.
The unsub frowned as he kicked your body out of the way and grabbed Spencer. He reached for the gun that he had taken from Spencer when he kidnapped you both and held up it to Spencer’s head as the team kicked in the door.
Hotch slowly walked down the stairs into the basement with his gun drawn. “Jacob Waterson. Put the gun down.”
Jacob tightened his grip around the gun. “I’m not goin’ back to prison.”
J.J. walked down quickly after Hotch. “We can talk about that. But right now I need you to put the gun down.”
The unsub thought for a moment before he pushed Spencer away and dropped the gun. Hotch ran toward the unsub and starting reading him his rights as he was cuffing him, while J.J. ran towards Spencer. Jacob had a cocky smirk on his face as he looked toward J.J. and Spencer on the floor. “It’s alright. I’ll go to prison, but at least I’m still livin’.” He gave a pointed look to your limp body on the other side of the room.
Derek rushed over to your side as J.J. undid Spencer’s restraints. He quickly checked your pulse - it was thready, but still there. “I need a medic! Agent down!”
Spencer leaned against J.J.’s side as she brought him over to where you were laying. He cried at the sight of you. Bruises were forming over your face and arms. Your eyes were so swollen that there was not a chance of you opening them anytime soon.
J.J. placed a hand over her mouth in shock at your condition. “Spence, what happened?”
Spencer felt the tears rush down his face as the medics placed your body on the stretcher and raced back up the stairs. “She did it for me. She said she loved me.”
J.J. wrapped her arms around Spencer. “This isn’t your fault - what happened to Y/N is not your fault, okay?”
Spencer looked at her with pain in his eyes, “It should have been me, J.J.”
She just hugged him tighter. “Don’t say that. Now c’mon. Let’s go to the hospital and make sure our girl is okay. Okay?”
Spencer nodded aimlessly as J.J. helped him up into the ambulance. Only one thought was running through his mind as he stared at your broken body laying in the ambulance - it should have been him.

Family
Emily Prentiss x Reader
summary: Emily and the reader don’t have the most supportive parents and coming out isn’t going to be easy. They have a unique solution.
.........
It was about 8 p.m., and the jet had just landed bringing the team back from a small town in Ohio. The case had been tough to say the least. Three teenagers were kidnapped as they were walking home from the park, and the families had been overly critical of the police department during the search for the kids. You knew they were worried, so you didn’t think anything of their criticism toward the team and the local police. However, what occured after the team found and saved the three kids was what stuck with you.
Two sets of the parents had embraced their kids and were crying with joy, but the other set of parents simply gave their kid a small relieved nod and said “you should have ran faster. Don’t scare us like that again.” You had felt yourself physically recoil when you had heard the mother speak to her child like that, and Emily had seen. She had stepped half a step closer to you and averted her gaze from the family. “Let’s go back to D.C.”
It had only been two hours since the incident, but you couldn’t help but ruminate on the fact that the kid’s mother was so harsh, especially after the teen had just been found. You knew this struck a chord with you because your mother had been overly critical of you throughout your whole life. Nothing you did was good enough for her.
You glanced toward Emily who was gathering her go bag and her book from the seat beside her. You couldn’t imagine introducing Emily to your mother. You bit your lip in frustration. Emily was the most important person to you, and you wanted to share your relationship with the world. But with your mother being extremely critical and homophobic, you knew a meeting would not end well.
You stood up and threw your go bag over your shoulder. Emily was patiently waiting for you outside the plane. You gave her a small smile as you made your way down the jet’s steps. You wanted to grab her hand and snuggle up to her side as she told you everything would be okay, but you hadn’t told the team about your relationship yet. Both of you had decided that it was better to wait and tell everyone later, but it was a struggle to take extra precautions to make sure the team didn’t notice. You both drove your own cars from your shared apartment and resisted showing affection or spending too much time alone on cases, and it was starting to take its toll on your heart. You wanted to be able to spend time at work with your girlfriend.
You knew this was coming from a place of insecurity. Was your girlfriend afraid to be seen with you? You quickly shook the thought out of your head. You glanced toward her again quickly, and she gave you a puzzled look. You knew that look meant ‘what’s going on,’ but you didn’t want to go into it at work. You gave her a small smile, “later, okay?”
She nodded and playfully pushed her shoulder into yours. “Let’s get this debriefing over with.” You nodded and walked into the building.
The debriefing seemed to last forever, and you couldn’t help but let your thoughts wander. How were you going to talk to Emily about your insecurities? You knew she had an overbearing mom too and would probably understand, but you were still uneasy. You tuned back into the meeting just as Hotch was dismissing the team.
Hotch gave you a concerned look as you stood up. “Y/N, can I have a word with you?”
You saw Emily in your peripheral vision look toward you questioningly. You hesitated for a second and then responded “sure Hotch.”
After the team cleared out, Hotch turned toward you. “Y/N, I’ve been watching you since the case ended, and you seem worried about something. Is there anything I need to know?”
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding, and you could feel Hotch examing your facial expressions and movements - he was profiling you. “Hotch, everything’s fine. I just have some family problems to deal with.”
He nodded somberly and didn’t push further, “okay. If there’s anything I can help with, you’ll let me know?” You nodded and started walking toward the door. You looked back as Hotch called out to you, “Y/N.”
“Yeah Hotch?”
“Don’t forget you have a family here too.”
You gave him a small smile and continued out the door.
.......
You walked through the door of yours and Emily’s shared apartment, and you smiled as you saw two wine glasses sat out on the counter.
“Em?”
You heard a muffled answer from the bedroom and set your phone on the counter as you walked toward your room. You saw Emily changing into one of your sweatshirts, and your breath caught in your throat at seeing her exposed midriff. No matter how many times you had seen Emily naked, you were still stunned by how beautiful she was. Emily noticed your eyes roam down her body, and she gave you a smirk. “Nuh uh Y/N. I got the wine glasses down so we can cuddle and talk. I know that something is going on in that brain, and I want to know. No secrets, right?”
A sigh left your lips and you walked forward to wrap your arms around her. “No secrets.” You stayed tucked into her embrace for a minute then unwrapped yourself from her. She grabbed your hand and tugged you into the kitchen. She gently nudged you back toward the living room. “Go, I’ll get our glasses.”
You quickly made a comfortable nest for you and Emily on the couch. Emily handed you your drink, and you lifted the right side of the blanket up so Emily could slide in and make herself comfortable. She held her glass in her right hand and lifted up her left arm so you could nestle into her side. You gladly accepted the invitation and cuddled with her. She took a sip of her drink and leaned her head on yours. “What’s bothering you, Y/N?”
If possible you snuggled closer to her. You were scared to have this conversation with her, but it was necessary. You chewed on your bottom lip and took a swig of your drink. She could tell you were stalling, but was determined to give you time to tell her whatever was bothering you.
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. “I don’t know Emily. I’ve just been thinking about how that mom talked to her kid at the station when they were reuinted. She placed the blame on her kid and acted like it was her fault she was abducted!”
Emily slowly rubbed circles in your arm as you continued to speak.
“I guess it just reminded me of how critical my own mom is of me.” You took a deep breath and quickly said “Emily, you’re such an important part of my life, and I love you.”
Emily looked down at you cuddled into her side and gave you a gentle smile. “I love you too Y/N. I just don’t see what this has to do with your mom?”
You were hoping that she would understand, but you could tell she was confused. You moved out from her grasp and put your wine glass on the small table in front of you. You resituated yourself so that you were sitting with one leg propped under you as you faced Emily. You took her hand in yours.
She sat her glass down on the coffee table and gave a nervous chuckle. “Y/N, you’re starting to scare me.”
You gave her hand a squeeze. “You’re such an important part of my life that under normal circumstances I would want you to meet my mom. I just don’t think that’s a good idea, because I know the meeting won’t go well.”
Emily inhaled sharply and looked away.
“Oh god. No... Emily. I didn’t mean it like that! It’s not because of you. Never because of you.” You intertwined your fingers with Emily’s. “I just know my mom and she’s so critical of me - I can never do anything right, and she is very homopobhic.” You felt your eyes fill with tears as Emily looked back toward you and searched your face to see if you were telling the truth.
You felt tears begin to drop down your face, and Emily began to disentangle her hands from yours. “Oh God, I knew I shouldn’t have said anything.”
Emily gave you a sad smile as she moved one hand to cup your face and used the other hand to wipe away your tears. “Y/N. I love you. It’s okay. I don’t have to meet your mom. I knew we’d have to have this conversation sooner or later.”
Emily scooted closer toward you and gave your forehead a little kiss. “You know my mom is critical of me too. Y/N, I want us to be able to meet each other’s parents. But I know my mom wouldn’t accept us, and now you’re telling me your mom won’t accept us. Maybe it’s just not in the cards for us to tell our families.”
You sniffled and said pitifully, “but Emily, I want people to know that we’re together.”
Emily began to gently stroke your hair. “I know baby.” She leaned forward and gently placed a kiss on your lips. “We’ll figure it out okay?” You nodded and moved so that you could curl back into her side. Right now, you just wanted her to hold you. You felt your eyelids begin to droop, and you quickly dozed off. Emily began gently stroking you hair as she continued thinking.
After checking to make sure that you were really asleep, she reached for her phone that was on the side table. She found the contact she was looking for and pressed the call button. She was going to fix this.
Emily listened as the call connected, “Hey Rossi. I have a big favor to ask you.”
........
You groggily checked your surroundings. Ugh, everything from yesterday vividly came back to you. After your confession, you had fallen asleep on the couch. You snuggled closer to Emily’s side and smiled. She must have slept here with you so you didn’t wake up. You gently moved her arm that was draped protectively over you and pushed yourself up off the couch quietly so you didn’t wake her.
You went to grab your phone on the counter and sighed as you saw you had about 20 unread messages from the team’s groupchat.
One message from Rossi caught your attention.
Get together at my house tomorrow night. Be there at 7.
The rest of the messages were members of the team confirming that they could come and asking Rossi questions. You laughed as you read a message from J.J. Is this going to be another cooking lesson gone wrong?
Most definitely it would be a disaster, but that’s what makes it even more fun. It’s exactly what you needed after an emotionally draining day. You quickly typed out a reply. I will definitely be there if Rossi is supplying the wine ;)
Rossi immediately texted back. You people are vultures
You quietly laughed and put your phone back down. You declared to yourself that until the party, you were going to have a self-care day. You decided you would wake Emily up after you showered. You knew she would be eager to join in making pancakes, putting on face masks, and watching ridiculous movies.
.....
It had been an amazing day full of sweet kisses and playful jabs between you and Emily. You were so excited to see the team and share some time away from work with them that your troubles from yesterday seemed to fade into the back of your mind.
You adjusted your dress in the mirror and you heard a wolf whistle from behind you. Emily snaked her arms around your waist and you leaned back into her embrace. She gave your cheek a kiss as she stated matter of factly, “my girlfriend is hot.”
You gave a loud laugh and turned around to face her. “well you’re in luck, because your girlfriend happens to think that you’re hot too.” Emily gave you a peck on the lips.“Let’s go, baby.”
She grabbed your hand and led you out the door. As you grabbed your keys from the counter, Emily intercepted them and put them back on the counter. “Nope, we’re riding in together.”
You gave her a confused glance. “But what about the team? Won’t they suspect something?”
Emily smiled in response. “You know... I was doing some thinking last night. I think we do have a family that we can tell about us. I love you, and I want our family to know. So... I may have called Rossi last night and told him we needed a get together asap.”
You were beaming and tears began filling your eyes. “Oh Emily. I love you so much.” You attacked her with a hug and began peppering her face with kisses.
Emily laughed and wiped away your happy tears. “Let’s go tell our family, Y/N.”
.......
When you both arrived at the party, everyone greeted you with hugs. You fell into fast conversation with Spencer about a book he was reading. He had asked you for recommendations when he wanted to learn more about pop culture, and you were more than happy to hand him a giant list of books.
As Spencer went on a tangent about how politically relevant The Handmaid’s Tale was, you looked over and sent a wink to Emily who was chatting with Hotch. She gave you a smile in response.
Before long, Rossi gathered everyone around the table outside. As everyone took their seats, Emily rushed to sit beside you. You looked down at the table, but Emily could tell that you were smiling. She grasped your hand under the table and gave you a comforting squeeze.
She let go of you as she stood up and gently tapped her wine glass with her fork. Everyone looked at Emily curiously as she stood up, except for Rossi who sat across the table with a smug smile.
Emily cleared her throat. “As some of your know... I have been seeing someone.” Derek whooped from across the table and J.J. threw in a wolf whistle. Emily gave a small laugh, “I know.. I know..”
“Well, I haven’t introduced this person to the team as my girlfriend, because we decided we wanted to introduce each other to our families first.”
Emily’s words trailed off, and she took a second to gather herself. The team glanced at each other wondering what was happening, but encouraging her to go on.
“Well, last night, we were talking, and we came to the conclusion that neither of our families would support us and our relationship.” You saw all the faces of the team instantly turn to disappointment. You all cared for each other, and when somebody hurt one of the team, they hurt you all.
“After much more talking and crying, we decided that we did have a family we wanted to tell. We wanted to tell you guys. So, that’s why Y/N and I are telling you that we are happily in a relationship.” Emily sat back down and searched the team’s faces for any sign of how they were feeling.
As the rest of the team sat looking completely surprised, Penelope jumped up from her seat to come and hug you both. Rossi laughed and raised his glass. “To love!” he exclaimed. The team quickly followed suit and raised their glasses in a toast. Soon after, the questions came rapid fire.
J.J. asked “how long have you been together?”
You smiled and responded, “6 months!”
“6 months! Baby girl, how could you not tell me? I’m wounded.” Derek practically yelled as he clutched his heart with fake pain.
Hotch gave a small laugh at Derek’s antics and looked toward you and Emily and smiled, “congratulations.”
Emily gave a warm smile back, “thank you.”
Spencer was just watching everyone’s reactions. You looked toward him with a puzzled expression, “You okay, Spence?”
Spencer nodded. “I didn’t know this was an announcement. I knew you guys were dating from the beginning.”
The rest of the team simultaneously yelled, “you knew?!”
Spencer looked up questioningly, “you call yourselves profilers?”
You and Emily bursted out laughing as the rest of the team exclaimed in protest and Derek through his napkin at Spencer. You took your hand in Emily’s and gave her a smile, “I love our family.”
Emily grasped your hand tighter and gave you a kiss on the cheek, “me too.”

Spencer Reid x Reader
tw: depression
summary: short drabble where depressed!reader is thinking.
.....
Lately, nothing seemed to be going as planned. It was hard to find a silver lining to anything, and your unhappy thoughts seemed to dominate your every waking second.
You like to think at some points in your life you were happy. You try to find these little moments in old photographs. There you are smiling at the camera... surrounded by friends and family, but you can’t seem to recognize the person in those pictures.
You pause on picture of you and Spencer. You are bundled up in a cozy jacket and a scarf carefully nestled in Spencer’s side. The aerospace museum looms in the background, but you and Spencer are only focused on each other. Your smile is almost blinding in this picture.
You hesitate for a second before quickly swipping the picture off your screen.
Have you always felt this unhappy?
The same routine of smiling, dishing out compliments to friends, and asking them about their problems runs on a loop in your head.
“J.J. I love that outfit!”
“Em, great catch on that last case. What would we ever do without you?”
“Spencer, you haven’t eaten today. Are you feeling okay? Talk to me - what’s wrong?”
How much of yourself is a facade put forth to assure others that you’re fine?
Your mind wanders to when Emily called you into her office the other day to check up on you.
You entered with a smile and took a seat, “what’s up Em?”
Emily gazed at you intently. You could feel her profiler brain turning, and internally you began to panic. “You know this team is a family, right Y/N?”
You nodded, “I’ve always thought so.”
Emily moves to lean against her desk, “I’ve noticed you putting in a lot of hours recently, and I just wanted to make sure you’re okay.”
Your smile briefly falters at her statement, but you quickly regain your composure. You brushed off her concern with two sentences, “everything’s good Em. Don’t worry about me.”
Even after leaving her office, you felt Emily watching you.. profiling you for any sign of what was going on in your brain.
Let’s be real, if Emily found what she was looking for, if any of them saw the real you, they’d run in the other direction. They only keep you around, because you’re useful - useful as a profiler, useful at making Spencer happy, useful.
The truth is you believe you’re damaged beyond repair. Even with Spencer’s constant reassurances that you’re perfect in every way and worthy of his love, you can’t seem to agree.
Every instance of Spencer’s affirmation was quickly rejected. The most recent incident occurred that morning with Spencer being sweet as per usual
“Y/N, have I ever told you how amazing you are?” Spencer asks while peppering you with kisses as you were laying by each other in bed. “You’re so resilient and caring. How do you do it?”
You chuckle, “I think you have me confused with my amazing boyfriend Spencer Reid. Resident genius.”
Spencer stopped giving you little kisses and locked eyes with you. His tone took on a more serious note, “I mean it Y/N. You’re amazing.”
You brushed off his compliment and gave him a small “hmm” in response. Your mind raced for any topic change possible. “What do you want for lunch?” you asked as you stood up. “I’m thinking Chinese.”
Deflection and denial were your best friends.
You continue flipping through your camera roll, desperate to find any indication of something, anything that will reassure you - you can be happy again, right?
Spencer lowers his case file and glances in your direction. You see his movement in the corner of your eye and look towards him. He gives you a small smile. You give him a dazzling smile in return, one that doesn’t quite meet your eyes.

Fight Club - Part Three
Part Two
Emily Prentiss x Fem!reader
summary: When a killer appears to be targeting couples, the team has to go to Seattle. Right before they start work on the case, Emily and reader go on a date. Things quickly turn for the worse, when both reader and Emily are kidnapped. While the team is racing to find them, reader is forced to fight for her and Emily’s lives.
...
You woke up with a start as Emily kicked your foot. “Y/N, you’ve been asleep for a while. I need you to wake up.”
You blinked a couple times in confusion. Everything was so hazy, and your body hurt all over. You gave a faint cough and felt a heavy liquid drip from your mouth. Great, now you were bleeding. This didn’t escape Emily’s attention. “Y/N, you’re bleeding,” you could see the tears forming in her eyes.
You tried to hold in the second cough, but it escaped your lungs anyways. You gave her a small smile, “come on Emily. I’m fine. It’s just a little blood.”
“Y/N, that’s more than a little blood. How much longer can you keep this up?”
You sighed. “As long as it takes. I have to make sure you’re okay. You saw how those other couples turned out,” you took a shaky breath, “I can’t let that happen to you.”
As soon as you uttered those words, you heard a slow clap from behind you. “So touching,” the clapping ceased. “Although, I don’t think you’ll be able to hold up your end of the bargain. See - you have two more opponents to face. One of them is in the court now, and if you beat him... you face me.”
You closed your eyes and leaned against the pole you were tied to. As brave as you were trying to be for Emily, you knew you couldn’t keep this up. There was a possibility that you could beat the next competitor, but there was no way you could beat your captor in the shape you were in.
You let out a shaky cough and more blood dribbled down your lips. The unsub untied your hands, and you groaned in pain as you were forced to stand up. You glared at him as he laughed. You spit a glob of spit and blood at his feet. This stopped his laughing. He looked at you in disgust and shoved you into the pool. You landed on your side and yelped in pain.
You struggled to stand up, but eventually gained your bearings. You looked in front of you to your next competitor. He looked like a respectable man. You wonder how the unsub got him down here.
Just as the thought crossed your mind, the unsub said, “Y/N, this here is John. He is fighting for his family. You see - I have trapped his family in another location, and if he doesn’t win...” your captor clicked his tongue in disappointment, “well, you know what’ll happen.”
You stood in shock as the unsub shot his gun in the air to signal you to fight. How were you supposed to fight this man? A man who just wanted the safety of his family. Who deemed yours and Emily’s lives more important than this family?
You were torn out of your thoughts as John rushed towards you. You sidestepped his punch and retaliated with a weak punch of your own that landed on his cheek. He regained his composure quickly and rushed at you again. This time you weren’t so lucky, and he managed to land a heavy punch on your stomach.
Your breath was knocked out of you, and you had hardly time to steady yourself before he tackled you to the ground. You tussled with him for a few minutes until you gained the upper hand and landed on top of him. You applied pressure to his throat.
As he gasped for air, he scratched at your face. You saw your teardrops fall on his face as you continued to strangle him. “I’m so sorry,” you cried as he stopped breathing. You had just taken a man from his family and doomed them too.
The unsub jumped down into the pool and shot the man for good measure. You were sprayed with blood for the second time in 3 days. You couldn’t gather any thoughts. Everything was so wrong. How did it end up like this?
Your captor grabbed your arms and shoved you towards the ladder. “Go.”
You obeyed and weakly climbed the ladder. As he tied your hands back to the post, he gently caressed your face with the gun. “Looks like I’ll be seeing you tomorrow.”
When he was out of earshot, Emily looked at you with a tearstained face. “I love you Y/N. None of this is your fault. The team will find us. I know they will.”
You weakily nodded your head. That fight had taken every last ounce of strength that you had. There was no way you’d win a fight tomorrow. “I love you.”
Emily let out a sob.
....
“Okay team. What have we got?” Hotch asked as he walked into the room.
“Three new bodies turned up today. A whole family,” Derek answered.
“A family? That’s not part of his profile. Why would he change that now.” Hotch questioned.
Spencer looked at the photos. “Guys. Something’s not right. These fingerprints around the dad’s neck don’t match a man’s hand size.”
“A female unsub?” Derek asked as he quirked his eyebrow in confusion.
Spencer looked at him with fear in his eyes, “I don’t think so, Derek. I think he’s making them fight to the death.”
Aaron gave the team a solemn look. “Reid, do you have an approximate location?”
Reid sighed, “I need more time.”
“There is no more time. We need that geographic profile now.” Hotch stated.
“Give me a couple hours.”
Hotch gave a nod, “Remember... every second counts.”
....
You hadn’t even realized that you had fallen alseep until you woke up coughing. You were still spitting up blood, and you knew that wasn’t a good sign. You were weaker than you’d ever been, and you didn’t think you’d be able to stand.
Emily was watching the flashes of pain that crossed your face as you coughed. She knew you couldn’t stand much more of this. You hadn’t had food in 3 or 4 days. All you had was the water that the unsub gave you after your fights. She had a plan. When the unsub came back, she was going to ask to take your place. She had a chance, but you couldn’t fight anymore.
The unsub walked into the room. “Looks like our timeline has accelerated. Your team found the bodies of that family, so we need to end this now.”
He started untying your restraints, when Emily quickly intervened. “Please. She can’t take this anymore. Let me fight for her.”
You shook your head, “No. Emily, I won’t let you.”
The unsub laughed, “It’s not up to you. Y/N is fighting, and there is nothing you can say to change my mind.”
Emily persisited, “Please. This isn’t a fair fight. She’s obviously tired from the previous fights.”
“I don’t care.” the unsub stated simply as he finished untying your hands, “get in the pool.”
You knelt on the ground before pushing yourself into a standing position. You let out a raspy breath as you walked toward the ladder. You climbed down in complete agony, and the unsub hopped down after you.
“Ready, Y/N?”
You gave a hesitant nodd. He acted as if he were going to rush toward you, but then stopped. He changed his tone and stealthily advanced toward you. You put yourself in a ready position. The unsub rushed toward you and tackled you to the ground.
He straddled you as you tried to fight back. He landed 3-5 punches on your face, before you gave up trying to protect yourself. You tried to give him a false sense of security, so you could fight back when he let his guard down.
He hopped off you and gave a small laugh. “That was extremely disappointing Y/N,” he reached for his gun that was in his waistband. As he aimed at you, you kicked out his feet from under him. As he fell to the floor, you painfully jumped over towards him and wrestled him for the gun.
As you were struggling for the gun, you heard them - your team was here. “FBI put down the weapon and step away from the agent.”
The unsub didn’t let up, and you continued fighting for the gun. You knew they wouldn’t be able to get a clear shot. This was between you and him. As you continued wrestling on the ground, a gunshot reverberated through the room.
You toppled off the unsub and fell to the ground clutching your stomach. This was not good.
One of your teammates shot the unsub, but it was too late. The damage had already been done. Emily had been let out of her restraints and rushed to the side of the pool. When she saw you laying there, she let out a loud cry, “Y/N!”
You began coughing up blood. You saw Derek rush toward you and felt his strong hands put pressure on your stomach. “Emily..” you whispered.
“Yeah Y/N, Emily is coming.” Derek stated.
You faintly heard Reid calling for an ambulance, but you were more preoccupied with Emily. She had reached your side and was stroking your hair.
You felt tear drops fall on your face. “Emily...” you faintly said.
“Yes. I’m here,” she choked out between sobs. “You’re going to be fine. We’ll get you an ambulance, and you’re going to be alright. You did so good, baby.”
Emily cupped your face in her hands as you closed your eyes. “Y/N, don’t do this. Don’t close your eyes. I need you to listen to me okay.”
You coughed up more blood, but looked Emily in the eyes. It took all the strength you had to muster a scrawny, “I love you.” Everything faded out except for Emily’s face. There was your light at the end of the tunnel. Everything that existed was her.
....
Emily spent days beside your bed. The doctors had given a bleak prognosis. There was just so many things wrong. They said your eye was out of socket, you had upwards of 4 broken ribs, a punctured lung, and of course, a gunshot wound.
You had been placed in a medically induced coma 4 days ago, and Emily hadn’t left your side. The team was there on and off too. Garcia spent time gossiping and knitting you a comfy scarf to wear when you got better. Reid spent hours reading to you from your favorite book. Derek told you all about his houses that he was working on. Aaron just stood stoically on the other side of the room, hoping for the best, and Emily spent most of her time crying.
“Emily. Drink something.” Hotch stated. The team had long gone home for the day, but Hotch remained.
“I just can’t believe it, Aaron.” Emily scoffed. “She fought through all of that, for us, and now she can’t even open her eyes.”
Hotch looked down. “You know, when I was holding Haley after the reaper had ... well you know. I knew it was the last time. I think you know when you hold a loved one for the last time. The way that she was looking at you as she was laying there. I don’t think that was last time you’ll hold her, Emily. We just have to keep hope that she’ll pull through.”
Emily nodded and gave your hand a squeeze. She’d wait until the end of time for you.
....
On the 12th day, Emily sat by your bed. She was reading you the local news - only good things of course. She gave your hand a squeeze.
You were still there of course. Just weak. So weak. You heard everything the team had been saying about you, but you hadn’t had the strength to respond. Plus, everything was so, so painful.
Today was the day. You were sure of it. You channeled all your energy into squeezing Emily’s hand. After a few failed attempts, you heard Emily gasp. “Y/N?”
She quickly called a nurse into the room, and the nurse confirmed what Emily felt. You were there, and now they knew it.
....
On the 16th day, you opened your eyes. Emily was sitting beside your bed asleep. What a beautiful sight to behold when opening your eyes for the first time. You managed to give her hand a little squeeze, which effectively woke her up.
“Y/N!” she exclaimed with tears forming in her eyes. “I love you so much.” She began peppering your face with kisses. You coughed around the tube that was still in your mouth.
“Let me get the nurse in here to get that out.” Emily stated and ran to the nurses’ desk.
The nurse quickly came and removed the tube after giving you strict instructions not to talk for a while. “Y/N. I love you. I love you so much.”
You couldn’t tell her how much she meant to you or that you loved her, but you motioned for her to lean down. You gave her a small peck on the cheek. She knew.
