Are you going to be updating your VM fic on ao3?
I am planning to, most of chapter 3 is written, but I got pregnant and had a baby (aaargh!!!) which is lovely and fulfilling but so. tiring. It has seriously taken away free time and also has filled up a lot of the old brain hard drive. So... I want to make it happen but don't know yet when it will. Like sleep.

Noooo!
I am upset that illstrash deleted all of her fics.
I hope it wasn’t because people were awful to her. UGH. If mean people ruined us eventually getting the end of the partnerswap AU I’m gonna be upset forever. I’ve been waiting YEARS.

Ok, super stoked to see my personal head canon about Tessa confirmed: she's on team Pacey. Also, Scott's a total Pacey and probably loved those Mighty Ducks movies as a kid.
tessavirtue17: I don’t wanna wait … to look up and see all of you beautiful people in Dawson Creek tonight! #TeamPacey

For real, how has T fed herself as an athlete for all these years? Does she have a personal chef?

Hi friend! 17, 27, 38, and 41 for the Writer's Ask Game :)
Hey lovely lady!
17. What writing habits or rituals do you have?
I don’t know if I have many specific habits, but I really like to write when I’m alone, preferably even alone in the house. There is something about not having anyone to interrupt me that really helps my creative process. I also am really inspired by world building and details, and so I get quite obsessive with research and that then feeds into ideas (I bought about 5 biographies for one incomplete Victoria story). Other than that I love having a playlist for a certain mood or a certain pairing and I also have that playing in the background. And it’s wonderful to have someone to bounce ideas off of, but you know that already! Really, talking to someone about my ideas and getting feedback on them has helped me to really hone in on what I want to say and to keep impetus going. Writing, as pleasurable as it is, is work for me, and I need nudging sometimes. I also really need to know I’m writing for someone, even if it’s just one person. I don’t write just for myself.
27. Favourite line/scene
So tough to pick, because the fandoms I have written for are so different in tone and voice. I don’t think I have enough distance to “Lightning Strikes” at the moment to see what I will still like once some time has passed, but I was really proud of this line from a Matt/Julie story that I wrote years ago:
“But Matt shouldn’t be surprised. He feels like Julie is a painting inside him, wanting to be born too soon, before he has the skill to do her justice. He wants to, has to get it right, with her.”
38. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had
Hm… I had to root around some dusty folders on my laptop for this one, and I think it was probably a Mary Morstan/Dr Watson story that I have never published (I loved them in the Robert Downey Jr movies, but the fandom is like 99% slash). It’s about Victorian repressed sexuality and how Mary’s burgeoning desire scared her first milquetoast fiance away (she thinks that her desire might actually be an affliction that is unwomanly? It was very… camp.
41. Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?
I think first of all it’s important to just try and write something, anything. So often the idea that it might not be good keeps me from writing altogether and then I don’t even bother, but really, you learn to write by writing, the ideas come while writing for me, a lot of the time, so not writing is what actually keeps me from getting anywhere. And yes, it’s not going to be good right away, and I still cringe at my early stuff and I still spend most of my time editing.
The second thing is, if you can, talk to someone about your writing, someone who can give you honest feedback and who can cheer you on. I am so inspired by talking to people, even (especially) if it’s about their own stuff. This is a huge help for me. Try striking up a conversation with someone whose writing you admire!
And, of course, read a lot, so you can develop a taste for what you like.

The reality show was weird and yet we’ve been blessed!
If there is one thing we all should thank this show for, it’s gratituous shots of Scott in various states of undress.

your tessa and scott fic on ao3 is so good!! are you going to be continuing it?
I am! It's going to be at least five chapters and I'm working on the third, there's just a lot going on at work at the moment so I haven't got as much free time as I would like. Slowly but surely it's coming along.

This interview has so many layers I’ve yet to unpack them all for myself and my own writing but so far I know this
1) I really really love Scott Moir, the softest bro to ever bro.
2) His love for Tessa and the other people in his life shines through so warmly.
3) The amazing @someinstant wrote the most realistic grown up Scott, I mean how uncanny is the resemblance between the way Scott presents himself in that interview and the arch of her extremely wonderful Scott Moir vs. The World?
A very candid, in-depth interview (therapy session) with Scott about his personal motivations, insecurities, strengths, career path and a lot of other interesting questions.

Jesus Christ, Moir! HE IS MOST ATTRACTIVE IN MOTION doing just the most MUNDANE things. ARGGHHHH.
I do not understand how I am so weak for him.

This is also so relevant, because wiser!older!Scott would tell younger!cockier!Scott to be nicer to Tessa and that includes making her see that she needs to believe in herself but he still sees those self doubts in mature!Tessa and he DOESN’T WANT HER TO DOUBT HERSELF BECAUSE SHE IS THE GREATEST IN HIS EYES!!!
And, you know, eftsoons actually wrote a time-travelling story about that which kicks ass and is so sweet, you can read it here: Time In A Bottle
But also, honestly, Scott, Moir,
just look at his faaaaaaaace.
(scott is the definition of “soft” and “heart eyes” in this interview when tessa answers a question about what she’d tell her seven year old self)
