even though this au is mostly filled with pain and the like, what would you consider a happy ending for it to be? im very normal about this :))

Despite how much angst there is in the AU dont be fooled there will be a happy ending and i will die on that hill because all of the characters deserve that happy ending, Tails stays in OZ with his friends, they kill put in jail eggman and starline and they all live happily ever after and whatnot!!

HOWEVER they will not be getting to that stage without being dragged through the trenches of angst and characters arcs. as much as i only post about the angst for my au most of it has a kind of fluffy road trip feel! at least for the first bit

Yo I’m enjoying the au a LOT

It reminds me of of the book series Dorthy Must Die by Dainiell Page ! It’s a bit of a mystery, horror, and thriller! I think you might enjoy it! I totally recommend it, there might be inspo in those books too!

i actually have dorthy must die!! ive not read it yet but ive been really wanting too!! i actually bought it for inspiration for the au so ive been dying to read it!!

I gotta ask- who realizes first? Sonic, or Tails?

Sonic does sadly, theres like two arcs to my AU (one half is the events of the actual movie wizard of oz just up to the scene where she goes home because tails dosent go home, the other half is when eggman reveals how much of a prick he is and cue revolution in arc two) Sonic realises just before the end of arc one and spends until like halfway into arc two trying desperatly to convince tails that theyre brothers and to please believe him

dw they get to hug when tails finally realises (he cant remember sonic but theres something so familier that he cant held but accept it. he feels to safe in sonics arms not to trust him)

I need to know how Sonic reacted upon finally realizing who Tails is.

When Sonic first realises that ‘Miles’ (In the first half of the story Tails goes by Miles because he can't actually remember his time in OZ and everyone on Westside Would just call him Miles, Although a few of the people in OZ accidentally call him tails sometimes much to his confusion) is Tails is after he kidnaps him and Knuckles, Amy and Rouge come to save him.

Up to this point Miles had looked so similar to Tails that it kinda pissed Sonic off, like they didn't look exactly alike since Tails  went missing when he was three and he's seven now but there was something so familiar about the boy that it annoyed Sonic. And to make it worse? Miles was wearing the emerald shoes that Sonic had gifted his brother all those years ago and he wouldn't give them back

It only kinda dawns on him as he's being taken back to Emerald city as a prisoner that he starts to realise how much this kid is like his little brother which eventually  clicks in his mind that he technically didn't find tails body and what other kid had two tails?

Sonic desperately tries to get miles to trust him during the journey back to Emerald  city but the damage has kinda already been done and Miles is refusing to trust him since he thinks sonic is just trying to manipulate him to let him go which sonic isn't. He just wants his little brother back.

I WANNA TALK ABOUT HOW FUCKED IT IS IN WIZARD OF OZ AU THAT SHADOW LIKE KILLED TAILS IN FRONT OF SONIC SO BAD

LIKE IT MAKES EVERYTHING SPIRAL AND IS THE THING THAT SENDS SONIC DOWN THE MENTAL PATH HE WENR ON, SONIC WOULDNT HAVE GONE INSANE IF SHADOW JUST LEFT TAILS OUR OF IT AND THE WORST PART IT ISNT EVEN FULLY SHADOWS FAULT, HE WAS BEING MANIPULATED BUT STILL SONIC WILL NEVER FORGIVE HIM FOR TAKING TAILS AWAY AND ALL SHADOW WANTS IS SONIC BACK.

I think what makes me most sad about how devoted shadow is to pleasing Eggman and Starline is just the fact that both of them used to be good caretakers. After Gerald died and Maria was way too sick both of them took shadow in and genuinely put effort into taking care of him. At that point they didn’t see him as a tool they could use yet

Then sonic was born and it all kinda changed. Sonic was the nephew of the last wicked witch of the west (Chuck) and with their mother already being dead Eggman and Starline murdered Chuck and ‘killed’ Sonia and Manic so that sonic would be next in line.

That’s when their whole concurring all of oz thing started and both of them progressively grew more abusive and sadistic. Sometimes shadow blames sonic for it but for most of their childhood shadow just saw it as something necessary and told sonic that it was which sonic believed cause shadow was the one telling him

Shadow grew up and held onto the memories of when Starline and Eggman didn’t used to be dicks while sonic tried everything he could to get away from them.

He actually does!!! However its more of a show thing rather than a practical thing. He enjoys the aesthetic of it and feels that it shows off how more graceful he is than everyone else. He could just teleport if he wants to but he does it to show his power.

It’s just a sonic au based on the movie version of the wizard of OZ (since I haven’t gotten around to reading the books)

Au is based on a world where after spending what he thinks is his entire life in a small village on Westside Miles gets caught in a storm only to realise that every single witch and wizard in the world wants him dead or is insisting that he’s actually a kid called tails that used to hang around with the wicked witch years ago, odd. But it’s probably nothing he’s not bothered as long as he gets to go home!

I FINALLY DREW SONICS “FLYING MONKEYS” (2.0)

IVE FINALLY GOTTEN AROUND TO DESIGNING THEM I LOVE THEM SO MUCH THEY MEAN EVERYTHING TO ME THEY’RE LITERALLY THE BEDT I ADORE THEM GONNA GO INTO THEM A LITTLE SINCE I LOVE THEM!!

Storm, Wave and Jet are a group of henchmen sonic hired after getting rid of his old ones, sonic calls them his “flying monkeys” as a joke but they’re mainly known by everyone as the jitterbugs. (Jet argues that it’s not very terrifying but storm says that if it’s the name they’re given it’s the name they’ll keep. They were given it for a reason. (Jet still thinks it’s dumb))

ok first of Jet isn’t really into the whole henchman thing, kid has always wanted to be a professional racer but that’s kind of put on hold when he’s dragged off to be one of sonics servant. Out of everyone sonics hired as henchmen surprisingly Jet reminds him the most of tails. Jets young, spirited and hot headed but he’s also kind of you get to know him. He’s a good kid deep down in that pre-teen rebellion. He also never backs down from an argument which sonic finds entertaining, Wave and Storm try to persuade him not to pick fights with sonic though considering what happened to sonics original “flying monkeys

Wave is probably one of the only person in the world that Jet will actively listen too. He finds her cool. She’s the brains of the group completely. She used to be the best flyer out of the three but she crossed paths with the wrong person one day and they ended up cutting her wings off. That’s how sonic found them. He took them in and takes care of them. (Despite how much they bicker and fight sonic likes them) she ended up building her own pair of mechanical wings, she’s not as fast as the other two but now she doesn’t get tired as easily so she counts that as a win. She’s probably the calmest out the three, and she will kick your ass if you need your ass kicked.

Storm is different from his other two siblings. He used to be this gentle giant ball of energy but he kind of lost that after a while. They used to have a good home in emerald city but after they were caught stealing food to eat one to many times they were cast out. Storm was always resentful after that but he took It in stride and took his siblings to raise as his own. He’s extremely protective of them. That’s why he took on the job with sonic. After waves wings got cut of sonic saved them patched wave up and didn’t expect anything in return. Sonic just said they could go as long as they didn’t say anything about him being soft. Storm offered to be his henchman in return for somewhere to stay and sonic agreed. It reminded him of his and tails situation. Storm is fully loyal to sonic, he trusts him with everything.

They finally have redesigns and backstories!! When I drew them last time I was just messing around with designs but I’ve made them more fun now lol

Tangle is an excitable girl who lives in Chao village with her friend jewel. One day when they were younger they came across a cabin where Vanilla (the previous witch of the south) lives with her three kids Manic, Sonia and Cream. The family can’t really leave their area because if shadow finds out that they are there they’ll be taken off to Eggman and killed. Tangle and jewel offer to bring her stuff from the village so that they can have more nice stuff and to also bring them daily news about stuff that happens around OZ

Whisper is a private officer that lives in emerald city, one of her jobs is to go around villages and make sure that no one is causing a ruckus and that everyone is behaving, she dosent like her job but she can’t exactly quit or she’ll be charged with treason. She goes to Chao village A LOT. She enjoys Tangles company a lot, the two get along really well.

Tangle offers whisper constant protection if whisper ever decides she had enough of her job, but whisper would never put tangle in the danger that would bring to her

BLAZE (+SILVER) WIZARDS OF OZ DESIGNS! :))

I love blaze and silver in my au they’re so sweet, they’re just living their best lives in the woods. They’re brother and sister with blaze sometimes taking on a motherly role for silver.

Blaze is a traveller who lives her life away from the public. She used to be a knight for eggman by his side to protect him. She had been training for it ever since she was five and on the day she was meant to become a proper knight she ran. She didn’t want to be a knight anymore and decided she wouldn’t dedicate her life to someone and something she didn’t agree with. She has a tiny bit of magic that she was born with but its only enough to make a small flame. She only really uses it to light fire to cook meals and for warmth. (also to do shadow puppets for silver) shes just living her best life ngl!

Silver was born in emerald city and caused kind of a problem at his birth as in objects being thrown around and broken, When eggman found out about this he took silver and decided that he wanted him dead. Eggman didn’t like when children were naturally born powerful, only a few with simple and small powers were kept alive and then forced into being knights to protect him. The task he assigned blaze so that she would officially become a knight was to murder silver. She just couldn’t do it, so she grabbed the baby and ran out of the city and into the woods. She prefers it there and would never go back on her decision

I love them they’re so soft and they care about each other so much, while everyone else is getting angsted they’re living their best lives.

I do love them also for a fact they parallel sonic and tails. Blaze and silver are what sonic and tails should have been if it was for Eggman, Starline and shadow. If those three didn’t come after sonic then they could have had a similar life together where they could put their past behind them and just live but its just no longer possible for them. Sonic met blaze and silver once and it broke him a bit more, he wanted to kill them for having the thing he dreamed of every night but he just couldn’t, they didn’t deserve the same fate he and tails faced.

They don’t know it but sometimes sonic watches them from a distance and pretends that they’re him and tails

Can you get hurt in Oz?

Yes! You can get externally hurt in oz infact! I mean what would be the fun in making a whole world and not letting the characters in it get extremely hurt am I right? Anyway getting Hurt in oz is pretty much just the same as if you got hurt in the real world, even despite the fact there’s magic.

However there isn’t really healing magic; none of the witches really ever learned it, at least the core four witches right now didn’t. Eggman didn’t believe in using his magic to help the people he was more just in it for the power, all the witches get to rule over a part of Oz since Oz isn’t actually that big. (it’s just a small country that’s surrounded by the deadly desert. A desert that stretched out far beyond the eye can see and no one’s been able to pass it. If you get stuck in the sand you can’t escape it and are better left for dead))

The last time there was a healer witch was the four witches that took the four current witches place before them. Before Eggman, Starline, Shadow and Sonic there was Maria, Zavok, Vanilla and Chuck. Vanilla was the witch of the south and chose to be a healer, she’s the only one from the original four that’s still alive. She’s out there somewhere living with her three kids in a nice little cottage, she has no need for her healing much anymore.

Eggman really disagrees with healing magic though. He taught Starline, Shadow and Sonic that it was forbidden and that they should never learn it. Both shadow and sonic wanted to learn it however. Shadow because of how he was told Maria died and Sonic because of how he was told Chuck, Sonia and Manic died. They promised when they were little that they would learn it in secret.

Sonic kept his promise and used to it to heal tails, his healing magic isn’t very strong at all and can only heal scraped but that was good enough for him. He regrets not having learned more and maybe then he could have saved tails before he died

Sonic doesn’t use his healing magic anymore.
