It is so nice to see Laura without cap in this scene, and the petrol color she is wearing looks so great. And aw, so sweet: Travis cleanses also her forehead. He wipes away the blood. When she wears a cap, we can't see that. :3
Lovesong prologue analysis about Travis and Laura (canon)
Robin Loxley & Jay Hawke – Sun Goze Down
I am pretty sure this song is a lovesong about Travis for Laura. I will give my own interpretation to the song related to Hackearney. I think that the song is a prediction at the end of the prologue about the things that will happen when Travis and Laura are together. Let's analyze the songtext:
Verse 1 (about Travis thinking about Laura):
Her beauty is a tiger
You can't full make sure that she doesn't bite
Her beauty is inside her
That’s why I need to find the key tonight
That’s why I need to find the key tonight
Won’t you help me find the key tonight?
We already know in the prologue that Travis finds Laura attractive because he uses his handcherief to clean the face of Laura. He also stares at her. So he noticed her beauty, but during the interrogation and imprisonment she does not only shows her prettyness, but she can also show the tiger in her when she approach Travis aggresively. And when Laura transforms into a werewolf, Travis must be aware for a bite (in his arm). Travis also found the key (figuratively) to solve the werewolf curse tonight: it was Laura. She was brave enough to kill Silas. And that makes the beauty inside her. That she was willing to end it. To solve the problem so everyone (who's still alive) gets better.
Verse 2 (about Travis):
You need an instant ease
From the life where you got plenty
Of every hurt and heartbreak
You just take it all to the face
I know that you want to cry
But it's much more to life than dyin'
Over your past mistakes
And people who threw dirt on your name
This text is an encouraging text for Travis. We all know and feel that Travis has suffered for six years. Travis want to save his family, but all he gets is shit and undervaluation of his family (we all know about Constance and don't underestimate Chris who's blaming Travis about the capturing of the two counselors). He was emotionally in pain. We also know that Travis was on the edge of crying when he sits in front of Laura's cel talking about his family. Travis was suffering, but he knew that suffering was better than dying of the curse that will endure forever after. Although he was suffering, Travis got an instant ease when he first met Laura. All his hope was based on Laura.
Chorus (about Laura and Travis dynamics):
I say yes! You say no!
Want to love you when the lights turn down
All your tease
You please me so
Want to touch you when the sun goes down, sun goes down
Ah, this songtext totally describes the pure dynamics between Travis and Laura. We all know about their push and pull/ yes or no stragedy. I just give you one of the many times they are arguing:
T: When I say your name, you give me your name, do I make myself clear? (YES, give me your name)
L: You've got my license, can't you read? (NO, I won't give you my name)
And we know Laura is also teasing our Travis:
Travis also wants to touch Laura. We know enough examples of Travis touching Laura, don't we, dear Hackearnies?
Verse 4 (about Laura):
I dance like a lion
I’m prancing, jumping, swing just like a cat
My beautiful little tiger
I'm gonna find the key under his mass
Okay, now this verse is interesting. This verse describes two choices Laura can make during her escape in cel. The first one is taking the gun and doing a cat-mice game. Travis taking the gun - Laura taking the gun etc. It's like Laura is dancing like a lion or cat jumping and swinging to finally catch the gun she needs. The other choice - actually very clear - is Laura taking literally the keys when Travis is tranquiled.
Extra (also an interpretation of prancing, jumping, swing just like a cat): >>
