Well, as you have come to expect from this dying, once-per-yearly updated Tumblr page (Now with 100% less pornography), below is a list of every record I’ve checked out this year that I believe is worth your time. 2018 was particularly fruitful in the new discoveries department, with many newer bands or groups that have flown under my radar, making their first appearance on this list. I’m also documenting my listening habits via Spotify. So, follow me there for monthly playlists, not without buying something physical from the musicians, hitting minimum wage on streams is not easy. This year has been a strange one. After a pretty desperate 2016, our bubbles remain burst, our political systems are still in shambles, the planet is slowly dying. It’s business as usual pretty much, except this time all of our heroes are sex pests (Cue a bit of guesswork as to which album has been redacted from this list). Fortunately, business as usual means there’s too much good music to even keep track of, but I’ve done my best.
