Making theories about Prom Queen made me realize that Netflix will miss out on a huge opportunity if they don't include Robbie Barron in this movie. Robbie is one of the few queer coded characters from the original Fear Street book series, and he happens to be from the exact book Netflix is adapting. Consider how many people like the trilogy for having queer characters, it would be really stupid of Netflix to not adapt one of the few queer coded characters from the books.

I promised a conspiracy theory, so you’re going to get one.
Is there literally no point to me making this since we’re probably going to be told the characters in this movie in a couple of months?
Yes.
But I’m making this anyways because I want to.
(Rest is under the break because there will technically be spoilers for The Prom Queen book.)
I’m starting with the actors that were announced and then adding any confirmed actors that I have theories for as well.
David Iacono as Justin Stiles:
This is the most obvious one. There is only one male teenage character worth highlighting over all the other ones.
Suzanna Son as Simone Perry:
So there are four younger female actors that were announced as cast members, and there are five prom queens. Technically anyone could be anyone, but I want to try to be more specific. I say Suzanna for Simone because Suzanna is a singer, and Simone is supposed to be playing the lead in the spring musical. I think it would be weird to cast a musician and then have her play someone who doesn't sing.
India Fowler as Lizzy McVay:
I don't have as strong of theories for the other teen actors, so the best I can come up with is that India is listed first on the actor announcement, so she's playing the main character. Not the best theory, but it makes a little sense.
Fina Strazza/Ella Rubin as Dawn Rodgers/Rachel West:
I'm certain that they are going to be playing one of these two prom queens, but I have no idea who is who. If I had to pick, I'd say Fina as Dawn and Ella as Rachel (just going off of pure vibes alone).
Lili Taylor/Katherine Waterston:
I'm really not sure who the adult actors are going to be playing. There weren't that many adults who were plot relevant in the book, so I'm going to make a few guesses. Some ideas are Mrs. Perry (Simone's mother who shows up a few times), Mrs. McVay (Lizzy's mom who I think shows up once), and Officer Barnett (a cop investigating the murders who is a recurring character in the book series).
Chris Klein:
Also not really sure for him, but I do have some ideas. Officer Jackson (a cop investigating the murders who is a recurring character in the book series), Mr. Abner (a teacher at Shadyside who shows up in an early book), and Mr. Santucci (some creepy guy that shows up for like one chapter).
Now onto some confirmed actors for the movie.
Ariana Greenblatt as Elana Potter:
I mentioned how there are five prom queens but only four younger female actors, and I think Ariana is our last prom queen. I believe she is Elana because out of the five prom queens, she is the least important and the one with the smallest part.
Dakota Taylor as Gideon Miller:
This one is also most based of vibes. Dakota is definitely one of the main teens, and out of the other important male characters, I feel he fits Gideon the best.
Ryan Rosary as Robbie Barron:
Out of the two remaining important male characters (Robbie and Lucas Brown), Ryan definitely fits Robbie more. Also, part of this is just me wanting Robbie to be in the movie because he was my favorite character in the book.

The Fear Street Prom Queen cast announcement has turned me into a conspiracy theorist. I’m using every single hint I can get to try and figure out who is playing who.

I love the significance of Jonas/Kira and Claire/Einar. In both cases it’s a relationship between someone from the Community and someone who is physically disabled. Jonas and Claire leave the Community that emphasizes “sameness” and both fall in love with someone that not only wouldn’t have been allowed to live in the Community, but would have been killed for existed there. And Kira and Einar have such big roles in showing Jonas and Claire what the world outside of the Community is like.
Also the fact that it happens twice in the series just shows these kind of relationships are good and common. It shows that the Community was wrong.

Fear Street fans, I’m curious about your opinions on the new movie.
I’m asking because Fear Street has always been an anthology series so I was expecting the new movie to not be connected to the trilogy, but then I saw a ScreenRant article that was really pissed about Fear Street 4 not being a continuation of the trilogy. I’m curious what other people’s opinions are.
Please give your reasoning in the tags.

I love the idea of Christopher and Monroe meeting later in life. Like a chance meeting where they happen to cross paths. I feel like it would go something like this:
Monroe: Wait, you’re not supposed to exist!
Christopher: Excuse me, your dad died when he was 11!
Monroe: That was just a misunderstanding.
Christopher: A MISUNDERSTANDING!!!!!

This might sound silly but I like to think Milton ran away, imagine growing up in a household where tragedy struck so often it was normal. Imagine growing with the fear that you could die any moment and your family probably wouldn’t care. It’s very suffocating so instead of staying he left, he probably didn’t want his family looking for him so he left no note. Just a drawing showing where his mind was while leaving and started his life from there. I mean the wiki acknowledges Monroe as Christoper’s “real life” family and the creators did say the Unfinished Swan was Milton’s story so it’s a good theory in my opinion.

More Fear Street 4 News
My Main Takeaways:
-It's confirmed the new movie isn't connected to the trilogy. I'm not surprised and cautiously excited. Fear Street has always been an anthology series and being not connected means the movie could be more faithful to the original series.
-I'm surprised the movie takes place in the 80s. Fear Street is peak 90s energy. It's not an issue though.
-The movie filming in spring so I expect to hear more news soon. My guesses are that the movie will either release this October (for Halloween) or next spring (for prom season).

I have mixed opinions on the Fear Street movies. On the one hand, I think the movies tell an interesting and compelling story with a lot of potential. On the other hand, they seem actively disinterested in their source material and have a very different tone (the original books were definitely not slashers).
I think it’s a good example of good movies, bad adaptations.

The real problem with books-turned-movies isn’t “omg they didn’t include every single word in the book” it’s “omg they completely overlooked the main theme, threw out any significant allegories, took away all the emotional pull, an turned it into a boring action movie with a love triangle in it”

I think it's crazy the Fear Street books have basically no fandom. Like the book series has been around for over 30 years and a lot people talk about how they remember reading the books but there is like no fanart, fanfic, or fan discussion about any of the books. It’s weird because similar series to Fear Street do have fandoms, just not Fear Street. I really hope that the fourth movie will get more people talking about the books because they really do have some amazing characters and themes worth discussing. The best thing I can do for now is to just keep posting about this series, even if no one responds.

There is a lot of irony in the best and most functional relationship in Fear Street being Simon Fear and Angelica Fear.
They are “the most evil people in the world” but they love each other more than any other couple in the series.
We respect a good villain couple.

Cursed AU that I just thought of
TDI Gen 1 x Fear Street Seniors
It’s the same number of characters (if we are not including Blaineley which I usually do on principle). There aren’t many series that have an ensemble cast of 24 characters, but these do. Honestly it very entertaining to imagine these characters in each other’s situations.
I will go into detail if requested because I know that most people probably don’t know anything about Fear Street Seniors.
