🌟 x 2 for each of the Trevelyan siblings, Matty, and Nick

#1 Kinda for both Alaric and Azriel, but they butt heads a LOT growing up and frequently argued. I don't think it ever really came to fist fights and scuffles or anything physical (Azriel isn't really that kinda guy) but it largely stemmed from Azriel being not a particularly serious personality and liking to goof off and have fun, while Alaric is a lot more quiet, reserved, and serious. That said, the one person they trust most to have their back in a fight would be each other.

#2 for Alaric, and #1 for Ashe- they're the closest pairing of the siblings, and were honestly each other's best friend growing up until Alaric joined the Templars, and at that point they started to grow apart (but only a little).

#2 for Ashe- she has a couch that is unofficially her second bed in the Trevelyan library. She's got a nest there of pillows and blankets and a stack of books and scraps of paper.

#2 for Azriel- He would 100% love being a girl dad, lbr >.>

#1 for Matty- He's a walking tumblr shitpost generator. He will 100% drop things like "It would be really awkward eating someone who gets off on that. It would be like if my lasagna was into vore" at the breakfast table like he's talking about the day's weather.

#2 for Matty- He is always carrying a thermos around and you never know what's in it. It could be anything from a protein shake, to water, to coffee brewed with redbull, or straight vodka.

Nick 1 and 2- He does not like driving cars (too big for his liking) and rides a motorcycle instead. He also at one point in his (very long) life was a male prostitute and no, he will not elaborate.

Ceridian headcanons?

Ooooo I’m going to do YJL Ceridian, but I can definitely do Omega Ceridian too!

He’s the oldest of their universe’s Menaces—Him, Matty West, Luca Gordon-Grayson, and Jania West—by about 6 months/12 months/18months, respectively.

Boy dresses like a dad on vacation in the most obnoxious Hawaiian shirts he can find.

He identifies as Queer, has dated/flirted with most people.

Him and Zachary will have very long talks about magic and their respective trainings

He’s got the vibe of “Doesn’t really care” 90% of the time, but that’s absolutely not who he is. People think he doesn’t take things seriously? They’ll reveal things that they don’t expect him to pay attention to. Then he turns around and uses that info against them.

He is his fathers’ pride and joy/biggest headache.

He loves to annoy Matty with his conspiracy theories. Like the more ridiculous they are the better

His baby sister, Opal, is his favorite person in the whole world. She’s a meta human child they found in a shipwreck, they were unable to find any relatives (and they did look) so they adopted her.

Ceridian gave his whole team and their parents heart attacks when he dropped Opal into a fish tank for a nap. Kaldur can’t remember laughing as hard as he did

At some point he meets Calliope “Cals” Raymond, Firestorm and Killer Frost’s daughter. She grew up with Connor and Lucy. She dresses like she’s going to a rave and is the smartest person in any room.

They start sleeping together and eventually everyone but them realizes they’re dating. They do eventually figure it out and are really happy together.

Abe hates me for using a gif of Simcoe, but ahhhhhh thank you sm, Nicole! I'm glad you came back and decided to continue with my madness and my 10000+ muses lmao. I honestly really enjoy our dynamics, even the "smaller" ones (in terms of plotting). I honestly really thank you, Mattie, and Rose for giving me a chance to really develop my ocs, I felt like our threads really influenced my ocs development and it wouldn't have been the case if you decided to turn down any of my ocs! So thank you for that! I really enjoy all the storylines and dynamics we weaved together over the time. (I think Lydcoe & Pewlett hit one year this month???). I also enjoy our nonsense in our ooc convos and how we can go from that to deep meta headcanon stuff with long texts (mostly on my end, oops). I'm definitely going to throw Abe at Townsend at some point to make sure he gets those grey hairs early ;).

Matty's parents are both lawyers, and anyways this is why he's a pro at finding loopholes in shit. Also on a related note, he's the entire reason why his high school dress code explicitly states that boys must wear shorts or long pants. One day he showed up in a mini skirt, and after getting detention and told he must wear gender appropriate clothing, he showed up the next day in a kilt.

His parents were less than pleased.

Random shit about the kids that rarely or ever shows up in threads:

Billy Russo visits his mother (an addict who he was taken away from as a child) semi-regularly now that he’s an adult.  Consciously, it’s to flaunt the fact that he’s well and thriving despite her general neglect when he was with her, but subconsciously it’s because he’s still seeking her love all these years later.

Talon phases in and out of visibility sometimes when he’s scared and feeling cornered.  This is because he’ doesn’t always have full control over the low key magic abilities that allow him to slip into invisibility/stealth.  When forced to confront Big Feelings it becomes an issue.

Klaus’s favorite color is pink.  If he went to a regular high school, he probably would have hung out with the theatre kids, even if he didn’t join drama.

Matty specifically goes by Matty instead of Matteau and has his hair long to spite his parents.  Both were constant points of contention with them before he cut ties.

The Lone Ranger’s mask was cut from the vest of his deceased brother.  (Canon, per the original TV show I use as basis.)

👚- What color do they wear a lot of?

Nick ironically does wear a lot of black and dark grey. Matty wears lighter colors, light to mid blues, greens, browns and beiges.

🎀- What kind of accessories do they like to wear?

Nick I'm not sure about. I feel like he's got his wedding band still and likely on a necklace chain, but i'm not honestly sure. Also not sure if it would be the one from his first or second marriage. I know he would be incredibly careful to not lose it but ah, it's been centuries since he was married. Until he and Matty decide to do the thing.

Matty wears his glasses, and idk if any of this counts but he's always got a pen stuck either behind an ear, in his messy bun, or both. He's also usually got 1-2 hair ties on a wrist.

Muses and their musical capabilities

Logan, Matty, and Nick all know how to play piano, Hawke is good at playing drums in her modern AU.

Logan and Matty both learned to play piano cuz it was “one of those rich kid things” that their parents made them learn.  Matty never minded it- he enjoys it a lot more though now as an adult and he’s able to pick at it when he wants, on his own time- and as a kid he tolerated it.  Matty is probably the least talented of the three, but isn’t terrible.  He’s slowly improving, or at least is when he puts the time in for regular practice.

Logan hated it as a kid and was forced to do it for a couple years.  By the time his parents were about to let him quit, he actually started enjoying it as he wasn’t god awful by then.  It was probably the “I’m not good at it immediately so I hate it” situation.  Logan actually got pretty decent at it as a teenager, and dropped it when he hit college.  Part of it was because he no longer had easy access to one, but it was equally because he was afraid it was dorky and he was trying to not be one of the nerdy awkward kids anymore.  (College is when he started sliding into the party lifestyle.)  He picks at it here and there when there’s one sitting empty and few people around, but doesn’t get back into it until he starts his recovery from addiction.  It becomes something else he can focus on and he quickly finds that he still enjoys it.  He has the talent- that never went away- but now that he’s older he’s practicing more and is quite good tbh.

Nick is arguably the best, given that he’s been playing the longest even despite the breaks.  He picked it up at some point towards the late 1700′s when it first became popular, largely out of curiosity.  He probably had learned how to play other instruments prior, but he hasn’t bothered telling me about that yet.  He’s played on and off since then (mostly on) but has fairly consistently played and enjoyed the instrument the last several decades.  For Nick, music is a lovely combination of modern and classical elements, and it brings him great comfort.

Hawke is the odd one out, the only muse I have who’s musically inclined but doesn’t play piano.  In her modern au, she’s a drummer in a local punk rock band.  When she was in 8th grade or so, some friends decided to form a band and needed a drummer.  Hawke borrowed someone’s set, and didn’t give it back until she was able to get her own, better set eventually.  It was the best “fuck it why not” decisions she’s ever made.

Doing #1 from this meme because it's New Year's Day and seems incredibly fitting.

00.  the fool  :  what are your muse’s thoughts on new beginnings ? does it frighten them or  excite them ?

Ashe is an idealist. She believes in new beginnings, and the first of the year is a great time for her to try and break some old habits and create new ones. Aside from that, she definitely believes that with change comes bigger and better things. It excites her, and she always welcomes them with open arms.

Alaric views them with almost a pessimism. In his experience, they tend to be forceful, unplanned and brutal. He often finds himself picking up the pieces and trying to sort out what's next, and rarely is it kind to him. While he knows they're inevitable, when he feels a new beginning coming, he absolutely dreads it.

Billy thinks they're nothing but a facade. For him, they're superficial and generally meaningless. Things will change, but from what he can see, nothing is a truly fresh start. As much as he may want it to be true deep down, the he firmly believes that the past will always follow you. Sure, he'll play along with the thought of new beginnings, but really it's all for show.

Brisco may not believe in new beginnings per say, but he's not opposed to the idea. Change excites him in general, and regardless of if it's a new invention or a new start, he greets the future with puppy-like enthusiasm.

Logan is an odd one, because his reaction isn't fear or excitement to a new beginning. Rather, it's one of relief. He doesn't see many of them throughout his life, but when he does, they're much needed. For him, they're very much a reset and he's able to use them to refocus on what's important to him at the time.

Matty has very mixed feelings regarding fresh starts. He's apprehensive, relieved, and a little excited. How he handles it really depends on the day and the prevailing emotion at the time.

Nick, in his thousand plus year lifespan, is tired of new beginnings. He requires them multiple times a century to keep questions to a minimum, and honestly is exhausted of continuously needing to reinvent himself and create new starts in life. If he never had to start over again, he would be thrilled quite frankly.

Talon takes new beginnings to the extreme and completely reinvents himself several times through the course of his main verse. Each time, he views the past him as dead, and belonging to who he was to others at that point in his life. While drastic, it's also a coping mechanism he uses. Each time, it's met with relief and excitement at what the new chapter will bring.

01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded? (for all the OCs!)

Ashe- I really like the name and I was also on a League of Legends kick at the time I started DAI. Ashe (from LoL) was my main and I'm just coincidentally a massive sucker for playing archers. It's just stuck at this point.

Alaric- I thought it would be fun to have the Trevelyan siblings all have names that start with A after Ashe was named. Alaric is a unique name and was the name chosen for a foal at the stable where my mom boards her horse which is how it came to mind.

Marian- I was too lazy to change her default name and it suits her imo.

Matty/Mattieu- Wanted something easy and common, Matty just seemed like it fit. His full first name, Mattieu, I wanted to go with something a little more unique and pretentious sophisticated just because as I started fleshing out his family dynamics more, it felt like something his parents would have wanted.

Nick- I really like Nikolai, and as he's Russian, he would want some common Russian names to rotate through.  Bonus round for Nick:  his original, pre vampire name was Voron, the Russian word for crow.  This was chosen due to his jet black hair reminding his parents (and me) of the bird.

Taliesin- Honestly, I just really liked the name.

Talon- Remember when I said with Ashe, I was on a League of Legends kick? Well Talon's namesake is a rogue type character from LoL and I thought it would be a badass name for an assassin. It stuck. Bonus round, his birth name is Arthur, surname Messer in modern AU. When I originally created him, he was a runaway Trevelyan. I wanted his given name to be unique and pretentious, so I chose Æthbert (sp???? it's been forever ok) which I found from a book and is an old English name. It can translate to either Arthur or Albert and quite frankly, Arthur imo is the better name of the two. It stuck. Messer is because when I was creating his modern AU background and decided he needed a surname, I was on a CSI NY kick and my favorite character was Danny Messer. Ta-da, it stuck.
