You started with his hair. Your fingers running through the soft white locks with care as you washed it with warm water and shampoo, careful of the many eyes littering the side of his face.

His head leaned back into your touch, a satisfied hiss to his lips at the feeling his hair untangling.

Leaving his hair to soak up the conditioner, you kept the end in a very loose braid.

His face was next.

You used a soft cloth as you gently wiped away all the grime and dirt. His eyes blinked at you as they followed your every moment. Mistrust fading away from them as you stayed patient despite his twitching and occasional mumbling.

Tracing over the scars and burn marks that refused to be washed away, evidence of years of suffering.

You wished soap would melt them away, you wished you could give him back the parts of his face which were stolen from him.

Alas, you settled for being extremely gentle, applying the most soothing of facewash soaps and making sure not a spec of dirt escapes your feather light brushes against his skin.

Moving lower to his neck and chest, where his soft skin was laced throughly with a spiders outer shell. Mixing together until whatever's left of his humanoid form ended below his abdomen.

You offered to let him do it, knowing he's already endured so much to allow you to wash his hair and face. Touch never came easily to him.

But despite his best attempts at cleaning his torso, it was clear how much of a toll it took on his sanity to gaze at his own altered body.

His grip on the cloth switched between too loose or too tight, he either barely touched his skin or scraped it red in anger.

You held his shaky hands in your own, asking permission to offer your aid.

After a minute of him debating with himself in whispers, he eventually gave you the conformation of approval.

You kept going, pride swelled in your chest at seeing how at ease he was during this moment.

If you began humming a tone, you'd noticed the tapping of one of his spider legs against the bathroom tiles, too long to fit in the tub. Matching your rhythm with your humming.

After you finished cleaning him, you drained the water again as you helped him leave the tub.

Using a towel to dry his soft hair, watching the silvery white strands shine and curl around his face.

A different bigger towel was wrapped around his chest, keeping him warm for the time being as you dried him off.

He was being strangely docile and quiet, you thought. Fearing the worst, you immediately went to check on him, only to notice his intense gazing focusing at the bathroom mirror.

Carrying the lantern so dutifully and scuttering while grumbling about you in third person to keep up with the pace, threatening to leave without you but never doing so.

He is so assured in his own hideous monstrous mutation that he lashes out when you give him a genuine compliment because he thinks you're making fun of him. His hair is unkempt and messy, he probably avoids looking in the mirrors or water not to face his reflection so he never noticed the state his hair is in.

He's so beautiful, so mesmerising and his skin is like a painting with all of the scars, scales and burn marks. It's so breathtaking yet he will never believe you no matter how much you swear to him that you're earnest in your compliments. His heart must be the most scarred part of him courtesy to Lolth.
