✭ each time Takeshi unsheathes his katana, he feels like a piece of his past self possesses him and, as much as he hates that feeling and all the mental pain that comes with it, he'd do it a thousand times over without hesitation to protect you.

✭ right away, he's diving in with his blade, shoving you behind his body to get between you and this creature and then shouting for you to get even further away so he can assure you won't be hurt.

✭ Desdemona's hypnosis is very powerful and it can be terrifying to see it in action. But if this is a creature that's immune to her song, she'll be shifting into her true form to take it on with all her might.

✭ on the one hand that the hypnosis works, you'll watch this creature quite literally tear itself apart at her command as she stands there watching, unflinching as she holds you to her chest and covers your eyes to spare you the sight. On the other hand, she'll be a blur of scales and feathers as she swiftly moves around this enemy and sinks both her claws and teeth in until she's sure it's no longer a threat to you.

✭ Aphae's a fighter by literal nature and so he's reaching into his chest to draw his sword the moment he realises you're in trouble.

✭ he's quick to cut down the creature and then he's rushing to your side to check for injuries and healing them with his touch, even if they're just little scratches.

✭ typically, situations like these are handled by Va'ari's knight or guards - she has a duty to her kingdom to stay alive and so she cannot go charging into dangerous situations. However, she leaps into action when she sees you in danger: she's faced the loss of her mother and has been threatened with the loss of her throne since her brother's birth. She's not going to lose you too.

✭ there's a bright flash of light which stuns everyone and suddenly one of her guards' swords is in her hands and she's using everything in her surroundings to protect you. Plants are growing and moving to immobilise the enemy, illusions are being cast and ultimately she's driving the sword through the creature's chest. While all her guards flock around her to make sure she's ok, she only cares about your health.

✭ Taru never liked the military image that his advisors projected of him, it was even more difficult to uphold it without the ability to lie, but he couldn't have been more thankful for all his training the moment he sees you in danger. You're the most precious thing in the world to him, the only person he can be wholeheartedly honest with (ironic for a creature barred from anything but honesty) and the thought of losing you shatters his heart to a million pieces.

✭ he knows exactly how to handle the fight and uses minimal magic to slay the creature before he's cupping your face in shaky hands and asking how you are, barking at his advisors to shut up as they're already talking about using this situation to further boost his image.

✭ depending on the strength of the threat and the situation where this happens, Khione will use his dragon form, even if it's overkill, just to assure your safety. Whether he's having to fight with his cold fire or his sword, he doesn't care as long as you make it out alive and as minimally injured as possible.

✭ if this happens in an open space, you may well find the enemy is just crushed by his foot or is suddenly frozen through and being shattered to pieces. Regardless, you'll end up being carried straight back to the Silver Summit where Khione knows you will be safe, the most precious treasure he has.

✭ Lucien is much weaker than almost all of the others but what he lacks in strength, he makes up for in the element of surprise and his intelligence.

✭ yes, he would jump the creature with a gun if the chance is there, 100% he would just get them down quickly to guarantee your safety. Otherwise, try not to freak out too much if the undead start defending you while Lucien takes you away to a safer distance, ok?

𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒: my requests are actually closed rn but I'll make an exception as a little Christmas present for everyone hehe. Also this could have been out like 5 hours ago but I got caught up in playing Genshin lol - gotta farm those materials u know

✭ Alois takes decorating the tree very seriously. He's the type that needs to have everything in a matching colour scheme and all the ornaments in the right place. He will transform into his flock of bats to reach the really high up places or, to make sure you don't feel left out at all, he'll carry you while he floats up so you can reach this totally isn't an excuse to hold you or anything.

✭ However, once he gets this plan across, it becomes a group effort for the whole estate to decorate the manor together and it's often a really fun day with everyone getting the day off their duties to just decorate and then cook together. The tree in the foyer is huge. Everyone at the Leblanc Estate looks forward to Christmas for this reason.

✭ Doesn't really do Christmas. But he's happy enough to decorate the place with you and he certainly won't turn down a big, warm meal in this cold season. I think he enjoys the cooking part more than the decorating. Nasana has a truly feral diet before you came along and he's come to really enjoy cooking, especially your cooking or just doing it as a quality time activity with you.

✭ This naga will be all wrapped up in a jumper and blankets with the fireplace roaring as the two of you go about the place and decorate with ornaments and garlands. He comes to quite like all the shiny stuff everywhere.

✭ Takeshi celebrates Christmas for the fun of it - he likes decorating and giving/receiving gifts. Also, it creates the perfect opportunity for him to pull tricks when everyone around him is only expecting kindness. Expect a few gag gifts or pranks.

✭ He really likes the ambience that the lights create and you can find him in his fox form napping under the tree and all its twinkling lights in the holiday season. Takeshi strikes me as the type to leave up the neutral-coloured lights around the place for the rest of the year even after all the other decorations are taken down because he really likes it.

✭ Desdemona loves Christmas! I’ve mentioned before that one of her interests is old movies and she’d just love a chance to decorate the place with you!! You’ll have to lead the way with cooking Christmas dinner though because this siren would likely poison you by accident as she’s never had to learn to cook.

✭ She’s all about decorating together though and the whole place will be lit up with lights and candles, there’s a Christmas tree decorated with faux Pearl garlands and silvery ornaments (many of which Des has made with you!!).

✭ Oddly enough, Aphaeleon isn't very big on Christmas. He's been around long enough to watch it go from a Pagan to Christian holiday and besides, what's the point of celebrating figures that will not be essential to his era as God? Aphae might not be a fan of all the decorations and such but he loves the charity aspect.

✭ You'll be decorating many trees with Aphae as he's used his money money from blackmailing corrupt ppl obv to buy decorations for shelters for the homeless/women/etc. to lift their spirits. This season is quite busy for him as he's leading charity events, masses and gathering essential supplies to donate to shelters. He spends a lot of time going around his churches too which are always open to those in need of shelter but become particularly busy with the colder weather.

. * ⋆ . · 　. VA’ARINIEL

✭ Oh! Va'ariniel's heard about this one! There are stories from a few centuries ago of humans decorating their houses with greenery and a tree with ornaments to invite the fae inside and give them shelter from the cold if needed. Not many humans decorate a Christmas tree for the same reasons now though and so, without the invitation, fae can no longer enter homes to reside in these trees.

✭ She's so eager to bring back this tradition that once stood between fae and humans and so she's got all the castle staff running around to decorate the place (it's also an opportunity to stake her claim to the throne by subtly putting green everywhere ahem). She'll fly up and place ornaments wherever you deem fit and she comes to love a hot chocolate substitute that the two of you figure out how to make together with ingredients from her realm.

. * ⋆ . · 　. TARUQU’INEL

✭ Taruqu'inel had also heard about this Christmas tree tradition but he wasn't as well-versed as Va'ari. He'll hang off your every word as you tell him all about the tradition's history and he's ecstatic to take part in something that once stood to join fae and humans like yourself! His advisors aren't very happy with putting green everywhere and insist he must convince you to use blue instead but he really couldn't care less as long as he gets to see that big smile on your face. He will 100% take you in his arms bridal style and fly up so you can reach places to hang decorations.

✭ However his advisors give you both more than enough resources to hold a feast in Taruqu'inel's name. He knows that they see it as a way of winning people over with generosity and it's a way of showing off what he can provide as a ruler but to Taru this is all about you. He'll have the head chef teaching you both how to make the tastiest dishes, all under your guidance of what a Christmas dinner should be like and you'll be feeding each other desserts by the end of the evening.

. * ⋆ . · 　. KHIONE

✭ While the landscape around Kanastra Highlands holds some beautiful scenery, it can look rather bleak in the winter and so Khione's more than happy to bring some greenery inside. He lets you take the lead in deciding how to decorate everything but he's helping you out every step of the way.

✭ Khione's very giving when it comes to his people and so I'm sure that, like Aphae, he loves the charity aspect the most. He'll get teams of people together months in advance to organise decorations and feasts and parades. Many of the cities across Kanastra have winter markets and he's eager to take you around them all to buy you little gifts and try all sorts of foods with you. Khione is a very serious dragon man 99% of the time but he looks like a child when he's eagerly dragging you around these markets. He looks forward to them all year round.

✭ As Va'ariniel's night, you were sworn to her and her alone. Many falted the Princess for employing a human for a position where loyalty was the utmost necessity as humans were infamous for their ability to lie, their bodies much weaker than fae, their magical abilities trivial even for the few human who did possess the ability to wield such power.

✭ However, they all soon understood that their wise princess had not made a poor decision when you marched along behind her, covered from head to toe in steel. The sword at your hip would glint like an omen of doom and the green cape upon your back showed all that you were unwaveringly loyal to the first-born Princess.

✭ You were inseparable from your Princess, always close enough to protect her, always training when your presence was not needed. When the day came to an end, you would carefully remove all of your armour that would scorch any fae who dared come too close with the very heat of the sun. The armour would be placed in a case in your shared chambers and that it when you would join your Princess in her bed.

✭ The two of you crave the touch that you cannot give her in the day and so find each other tangled in the other's limbs in a messy and desperate embrace where you are both more than happy to be squeezed to death by your lover.

✭ Va'ari isn't good with grand gestures or well-placed words of love so she shows you just how much you mean to her with physical affection, feeling safe and comfortable enough behind closed doors with you like this. She kisses all over your face, massages any aches in your body, whispers to you how she loves you and you're the only person in the world she trusts so she would be ruined if you ever broke it. You whisper back about how she is all you have in this world that you left your own to be in, you remind her that you left everything behind to be hers, you confide your name in her over and over again between so that she knows you could never betray her.

✭ She's watched you take care to clean the bloodstains from your green cape before. She's watched your hands treat the material with such care, the same hands that had swung a steel sword to sever the head of one who had denied her claim to the throne.

✭ She had your name and you had her heart. She would see you one day rise from knight to queen consort.

ABOUT: Va’ariniel is the eldest child of her father Nielhuinn, born from his marriage to his first wife Tazerilen. As the only child of this marriage, she was announced as the King’s heir before he remarried. The moment talk began of him remarrying to Amaryisel, Va’ari dedicated herself to all sorts of studies that would prepare her to be the reigning monarch of the Fae Court. From a young age, she was made to understand politics and she knew the threat that a second marriage could pose to her title as heir.

In the Fae Court, second marriages are rather unheard of and so many believe that Va’ari is the only rightful heir, being the only child from the King’s first marriage however there is equal opposition that claims tradition says that title should go to Taru as the first-born son. She’s caught up in a succession crisis and is determined to not have her birthright stolen from her.

Va’ari has umber skin, long white hair that she styles with various braids and features bangs, bleached eyebrows, hazel eyes. She has long, pointed ears with a small set of lunar moth wings that point backwards behind them and thin, fluffy, pale-green antennae. On her back, she has a large pair of iridescent green lunar moth wings.

Va’ari can always be found wearing the colour green as it represents her connection to the woodland realm she will one day rule and it is the colour of her late mother’s house, being a lunar moth faerie.

Va’ariniel is quick to approach but slow to trust as it is essential that she chooses her friends and allies very carefully so she will be a reluctant partner and you will have to prove your loyalty to her as a Princess before she is able to trust you to accept you as a lover. Va’ari is bisexual and understands that she must one day produce an heir and so many expect that she will be left with no choice but to have a husband however she’s done enough research to know that she can have a wife and a male concubine as it has been done before and old laws allow such. Va’ari knows what she wants to have available to her and so she will always have a plan to allow her to have whatever she wishes.

Once someone has proven that they are trustworthy to her, she’s a very loving partner! Va’ari struggles with expressing her emotions but don’t doubt her feelings for a moment! She shows her affection through helping you achieve your own goals and through touch and quality time. She’s not one for big flashy dates, she really wouldn’t know where to start on planning them but she’ll take you to a secluded meadow and bring some of your favourite foods while he caresses your face in her lap and tells you just how much she adores you, how you give her butterflies that she just can’t put to words, leaving her speechless for once. She can get very upset at times like this and can tear up while she wishes that she knew how to better express her love. Give her some reassuring kisses or hold her hand and she’ll be alright through. She’ll cuddle up with you in these times and just can’t seem to keep any sort of distance between you, holding you close and tight to try and make sure that you know just how much she loves you.

Mortals and fairies of lesser power require fixed portals to do so, but more powerful fairies may cross dimensions at will. Powerful fairies can banish people to other dimensions against their will, though less powerful faeries appear to require consent.

invisibility: They can only be seen if they want to be or by people who have travelled to their realm and returned.

healing: Faeries have the ability to cure broken or withered plants; wounds, broken bones and low vitality.

photokinesis: Faeries have the ability to project and control light and nature.

mesmerisation: Fairies can make humans do their bidding. The fairy only needs to have eye contact in order to seize your mind with a simple phrase or change in tone of voice.

chlorokinesis: Faeries can manipulate vegetation. Fairies can grow plants to enormous proportions in nearly any environment, and use them as weapons that can grab and attack with vines and roots, grow or retract thorns.

superhuman durability: Faeries can take far more trauma than humans can without much discomfort or injury.

flight: Winged faeries can fly.

glamour: Able to cast vivid and convincing illusions in order to trick others, as demonstrated with the illusion of the fae world, making it appear more appealing and beautiful.

oneirokinesis: They are shown to be able to enter people's dreams and converse with that person when fairies both enter their slumber.

immortality: Faeries are immortal beings.

oath: If a faerie’s oath is broken, great dishonour is brought upon the faerie and their clan and is thus considered an act of war. Faeries also make pacts signing the contract with their blood. This is called "blood on vellum." This is said to be the most sacred of contracts.

WEAKNESSES:

iron: Iron is poisonous to the Fae and may kill them if there is too much in their system. Iron can be passed into a Fae's system by the slightest touch so most tend to avoid cold Iron with a vengeance.

names: names hold a lot of power in the fae realm and so true names are not passed around lightly. For a fae to surrender their name is to surrender all their power.

invitation: faeries cannot enter a home without an invitation – this invitation can be withdrawn at any time and will cause the faerie to leave immediately.

Which of your ocs likes spicy food?

In order of who likes it most to least:

✭ TAKESHI: Not only does he like spicy food the most, he also has the highest tolerance for it

✭ VA'ARINIEL: Its deemed as a very odd dietary habit of hers by her fellow fae who favour sweet foods but Va'ari likes spice a lot

✭ APHAELEON: He doesn't need to eat but he can and he really likes spicy food! He won't go for it in every dish as he likes to try all different things on the occasion he does eat but he has an incredibly high tolerance for spice

✭ NASANA: He didn't like it to start off with (again, very feral diet before he meets you) but he gets used to it pretty quick and comes to really enjoy it!

✭ DESDEMONA: Doesn't have the highest tolerance for it but she'll eat that food regardless, she loves it

✭ TARQU'INEL: He wants to like it, he really, really does because he just wants to show Va'ari that he's willing to try things she likes such as letting her take the throne but he just can't handle it - fae cuisine is typically very sweet and aromatic but not spicy

✭ KHIONE: Can't handle spice and so he doesn't like spicy food. Blames it on being a cryo dragon. Who knows if there's any truth to that?

✭ ALOIS: Alois can't eat food anyway. He's eaten human food a few times to hide his identity but it always makes him vomit after a little while. He also grew up in a very spice-less Europe keep in mind. When staying at Rishima's court while hiding from vampire hunters, he tried to stomach a few communal meals to not draw attention to himself but it was hell for him. Not only did human food always make him feel nauseous but his mouth also felt as though it were on fire and he was running off to be sick much sooner than he usually would have to. From then on he told everyone he just took his meals in his chambers to save himself from having to go through that again.

If I invite Va'ari and Taru for a picnic. An ordinary picnic with snacks and a river nearby, where you can swim or just build something out of sand. I will bring a blanket and a book with interesting facts, and they can bring treats.Do you think they would agree?

Va'ariniel bites her lip in thought for a moment before taking your hand in hers and bringing it up to her mouth to press a kiss to your knuckles before wrapping her other hand around yours in sincerity, "I would love nothing more, sweetest, but I simply cannot attend if my brother will be there. I do not trust his scheming council to not use it as a chance to put me under attack." Her arms wrap around your waist and she pulls you close, playing with your hair as her lips graze across your cheek, "How about we go, just the two of us? I'll clear up all my work for today so the rest of the day can be spent with you, the one I love most. I would just adore to go swimming with you." She smiles and gives you a soft kiss.

Taruqu'inel beams a smile and his blue, iridescent wings flutter excitedly, "Oh I would love to! How about that spot by the pond, with the willow tree? Oh, I can have some of the chefs make all your favourite treats and- oh, you invited Va'ari too?" He falls silent and his excitement quickly fizzles out, "She will refuse if she knows I have been invited too... I know that she is dear to you and I would not want to keep you apart... Spend the day with her and I will find a way to escape my council in the week so we can have a day together too, my petal." He presses a tender kiss to your forehead and squeezes you affectionately in your arms but he lacks his usual bubbly persona that he only shows around you.

Va'ariniel eyes the flowers suspiciously, hazel hues flickering between your face and the sweet-smelling bouquet. "What do you want in return? Oh, it's a gift, not an exchange?" She smiles softly and reaches forward to accept them, leaning in to press a kiss to your cheek as she holds your hand. "Dearest, they're wonderful." Her smile widens before she gives you another kiss.

Taruqu'inel's face lights up immediately at the blue flowers, "Oh, a gift! These are beautiful!" His fingers come beneath your chin, "But not as beautiful as you, my petal. Come join me by the pond, I composed a new song for you recently." He takes your hand in his free one and begins leading you away.

✭ Va'ari always wanted to take up some sort of hobby like art or writing when she was younger but found that her duties, tuition and training did not allow the time for it. She never took part in the embroidery circles that other women at court made as she was studying politics and so she grew up to be quite introverted, her rigorous studies isolating her from anyone who wasn't a servant, a tutor or an instructor.

✭ However, she has become very fond of reading in the meantime! She gets to study and it feels recreational so she doesn't feel guilty about "wasting time" while she's reading. Even when she's indulging in fiction, she claims that there are always lessons and vocabulary to take away and so she's still being productive.

✭ Publically, Taru is obliged to say that his favourite activity is combat training or hunting because that is the image his advisors have forced him to conform to for his public and supporters. He needs to appear very strong, masculine and military-centred.

✭ But you know that Taru's favourite activity is music. He adores his flute, learning and composing new songs, he would melt at the chance to teach you how to play too. He likes sitting somewhere private with you to play music for you or to have you close while he composes. He especially loves when he can lean back and play while you watch him from where your head rests in his lap.
