Then grian joined. X couldnt help but be scared, despite repeatedly telling himself it would be fine. The other hermits kept an eye on grian to make sure he wouldn't hurt the admin.

But it turns out that grian was very kind. He was respectful of everyones boundries, especially xisuma. He would wait as long as needed just to get a response.

X slowly calmed and got used to grian, the hermits eventually welcoming him into the relationship. Occasionally x will freeze up, but everyone is always patient with him.

He's felt this sort of aura that only certain being gave off. To any other hermit, it would be hardly noticiable. It feels all too suffocating to X. Watcher.

Without even seeing the... the Watcher... X felt his chest tighten with panic. He knew that a new arrival was possible, one that was seeking refuge and protection. Never did he think it would be a Watcher. The other hermits, of course, saw his reaction and acted accordingly. Though they didn't act outright hostile to the newcomer, they made it abundantly clear that they were cautious of him.

Grian. The newcomer's name was Grian. Though he was a Watcher, he avidly avoided eye contact, he also never showed his Other Eyes, even if they'd have been more convinent in certain situations, nor did he let his aura that all Watchers seemed to have seep out too much, even if it tired him out to keep it surpressed.

It was weird. Grian was weird. He was weird as a Watcher. He didn't make sense. He felt Watcher, but he didn't act Watcher. Grian was aware of X's caution, of X's fear, of him. He didn't get upset though. He just looked sadly resigned.

Time went on, as did Grian's refuge in Hermitcraft. Grian showed time and time again that he was trustworthy. He showed that he was kind. He showed that he was respectful of people and their boundaries. He showed extra awareness and respect towards X and his boundaries and his body language.

It took time. It took a lot of time. But as X was able to calm down and get used to Grian and Grian eventually joined their not-so-little polycule, a new normal came into place. X still occasionally will freeze up, but the others will always make sure he is alright.

But the time he got closest to being caught wasn't Empires. In fact, it was one of the early seasons. Xisuma was still un-practiced, still too lenient. He wasn't used to the responsibility of the entire server. He had to protect his lovers, he had to keep them safe. And safety came at any cost.

This works fine, until Joe walks in on a murder scene.

Xisuma didn't know how to play that off. There's blood spattered across his armour, the room stained with it. There's no hiding it. There's no denying it. They stare at each other, neither one moving.

Joe asks why. Xisuma, who's still blunt at this stage, not as good at lying, just admits it. Somebody was coming after Cleo, and Xisuma had to get rid of them.

Joe nods, and starts cleaning up.

As far as Xisuma knows, Joe has never said a word. He doesn't know if Joe knows he still does it, or the extent of Xisuma's work protecting them. But he's never mentioned it since.
