Hello hello! Quite fun being the one to send you an ask for once, genuinely thought you’d remain a mystery to me forever lmao >w<

Anyway! While going through your blog I saw your tags on your most recent reblog of that Solomon post that’s been going around and I have to say—I’m happy to see that you also noticed that particular aspect of Solomon and Asmo’s relationship, that Sol doesn’t particularly trust him or put him on equal footing. I don’t recall what specifically gave me this impression, but I’ve always thought that they must’ve had something of a tumultuous relationship over the years, and that it’s only gotten okay around the time of the exchange program; because even though they were on good terms, according to the relationship chart the devs published (presumably around launch which is also the the time I’m assuming that Asmo’s Chapter A cards came out?) Solomon still viewed him as a tool/toy. I feel like there were moments as well that hinted that he wasn’t super happy with how overly close Asmo was behaving in S1 but I’m not sure.

And even with more recent things like Solomon saying he has trouble refusing Asmo in S3 after you meet the brothers in the human world, I kind of figured that it’s because it’s just easier to indulge him. But maybe it’s because I personally have more cynical takes on the characters’ relationships with each other? Because after some of the hard mode scenes in S2 I found myself enjoying a less rainbow and sunshine filled reading on everyone’s relationships and that there’s still plenty of baggage that hinders full trust and vulnerability.

Then again, we have Solomon saying that he still views pacts as business deals as recently as his last birthday, with Barbatos agreeing. So maybe my less fluffy takes still hold some water >.<

Anyway. Sort of just wanted to bring up Sol and Asmo because I also hardly see anyone talk about them beyond the ship + fanservice Solmare doles out and am dying to hear more about the complexities of their relationship beyond that >.< Hello again!! Still so crazy to know your personal blog omg

welcome to my abode! truth be told, i never intended on being mysterious forever. i'm someone who enjoys the satisfaction of watching others piece the puzzle together, and it goes for many occassions; my favorite being the way my friends attempt to figure out my oc lore with what information (writing) i've cleverly set out for them to find. here are some highlights from last night with a friend who refused to sleep until they've figured one (1) small piece of lore.

it's insane to think that it all inherently connects with the obm universe (because it's [godtongue]'s lore), but can easily be it's own concept without it. speaking of her ... i haven't forgotten about your other responses! i have answers for each of them neatly placed in my priv server ready to be revisited. ;)

i think you might be interesting in reading a recent ask i sent to /@.bbnibi regarding a bit of solomon's views on demons—once they respond to it of course. you mused that solomon doesn't typically like the way asmodeus behaves, and i'd like to mention that i can recall countless of times where this is something that consistently occurs. the way solomon responds to asmodeus' “i love you!”s with a curt, “i know.”? the way he went out of his way to reverse asmo's manipulative gaze when he streamed live to his audience? in the chat for, “letter from the devildom”, solomon doubted that asmodeus would be able to send any form of sincere letter. in the audio drama with sol & asmo, solomon was intensely disappointed (but not surprised) that after centuries of knowing each other, asmo knew nothing about him while mammon did. the list goes on.

imo, the only way for him to actually ensure a good relationship with someone like asmodeus (for the sake of keeping pactmates satisfied in order for them to be more willing to commit greater acts in return) is to partake in simple acts that otherwise bring no harm. persuasion doesn't seem to happen with him. if it's in his best interest, what he'd like to do anyway, or something he consider low-stakes and maybe fun to mess with, he'll let you ‘persuade’ him. he's the gatekeeper here, not you.

this is exceptionally evident in one of s4's lessons (hard mode of lesson 69) where solomon walks in on the royals mentioning him in reference to how he holds a grim reaper's emotions in the palm of his hands.

to which barbatos acts as though nothing was ever mentioned.

i don't think your view on relationships in obm is cynical in nature at all—i think that everything is laid out before the player if they choose to see it. in this specific scenario, i don't believe that solomon considers any of the cast as close friends, even simeon. solomon went out of his way to confront simeon, dealt with his blatant denial of everything that was going on alongside his sheer disrespect towards him, and yet solomon still didn't think ill of him. he knows so much about simeon and yet, can simeon say the same for solomon?

he rarely shares personal things about himself with other people, which is a juxtaposition of sorts, because what he craves most are meaningful conversations and interactions (see: lesson 46). the clincher is that while he wants to know ALL about you, he will often hold back in sharing much about who he is and what he emotionally needs from the people around him. i can't blame him, though. there isn't anyone who is able to provide him with that in the ways that matter.

apologies for the ramble, although i know you don't mind reading longer posts ^^ after seeing a recent poll of 1k+ people on twitter regarding the popularity of characters, it irked me how solomon placed 11th due to people thinking of him as someone bland and irritating (satan placed 2nd, though). i suppose that's why i'm in the mood to talk so much about solomon—to compensate for what newer players perceive him to be.

——— THREE FACTS! ♡

1! ♡ i used to roleplay on youtube. yes, youtube. think late early aughts and early 2010s. you’d set up your channel with all those fancy fonts (yes, the fancy fonts that now made a come back here); use picnic to edit your pics, set an autoplay video up for ur channel, and rp using dms or comments. it became popular to keep comments on approval and only approve things like: CLAIRE ISH MAHH BIIIISH. xDDD <3 NO ONEZ CAN TOUCH MAH BISSSSH <3 <3 xDDDD LUV U 4EVER. after the channels became what they are now, i hopped around on proboards before coming to tumblr.

2! ♡ i speak three languages. english, conversational french, and rudimentary german which i am relearning. i used to speak it fluently as a child. i hope to one day be able to communicate with my tante elisabeth and my cousin utta, as they only speak german (they... are... from germany LMAO) but until then i’ve been relearning with my aunt karin. it’s so weird because i feel like i’m very different when i speak french or when i speak german. like. english me is very different from french me and french me is very different from german me. i don’t know how else to describe it. i’m way more flirty and suave when i’m speaking french but i’m very serious and to the point in german. i find when i speak english i’m a little more aloof. i don’t fucking know.

3! ♡ the longest i have ever written a character is six years. most of my mutuals probably know me from that account (lady a. c/omstock of bioshock in/finite). i still write her on discord, so technically i’ve been writing her for 7 years. she’s just very draining to write these days as she’s just so goddamn fucking sad all the time and i prefer writing her on a smaller scale with very close friends privately. i still love her and her development and everything i’ve done with her, she’s just Ultra Ultra Depressed and i find myself having to get into that same headspace when i write her on tumblr, hence... why i do not like doing that any more. trauma muses, baby: it be like that. it’s actually really funny bc i consider lady amelia c my BRAND. depressed edwardian milf. that’s the brand. media was an EXTREME departure of my brand of muses. i’ve written belle, sansa, lady c - all three of those ladies really follow the ‘porcelain to steel’ trend. media is neon chaos.

——— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡

FLUFF: i want to say i don’t like it but i love happy endings and domestic bliss bc that’s comforting and i like happy endings. but depending on the character i’m very selective with who i will write it with. media? I Simply Do Not See It (unless im writing with nee). it’s something i enjoy, but not something i write often on this blog; as i’m more horror oriented at this point.

ANGST: i enjoy angst; but again, it really depends on the character. i had this really great thread with g where christine and amelia had an argument that resulted in amelia breaking down into tears as she was so angry. i really enjoyed the raw emotion i could write in that; and with a character like amelia, it was a great way to release a lot of pent up energy and add some character dev. for someone like media, tho, media doesn’t show emotion. media refuses to show emotion. it’s not Their Thing. they can show emotion and do emote, but it’s muted and rare. if, again, i were to write angst, it’d be with nee; since law is someone who reminds media how human they truly are.

SMUT: depends. i’ve written it privately. it’s not really my thing but i don’t mind it. i prefer to write it privately with people i know very, very well. i’m not adverse to reblogging a smut meme or sending one in tho lmao.

PLOT / MEMES! ♡ i love plotting. i’m not good at i but i enjoy it a lot and will do my best to help think of dynamics, settings, and plot threads to do. as for memes? i want to love memes. i think they’re a great ice breaker - i used to be able to reblog a meme and write a really nice drabble response (i always write drabble responses lmao) but now it’s like... I Simply Cannot. i look at memes and my muse jumps ship like its 1912. i think it’s because i have an easier time responding to memes with people/muses my muse has an established/talked about dynamic with; instead of me trying to write a 4 para drabble for a muse that my muse has yet to interact with. idk.

Hey. I noticed you seem really down and I'm just here to say that you and your muses aren't useless. In fact, your muses interest me a lot. I actually didn't even know about Mephir and Dokugai existed until I noticed you had those blogs up, and they seem really neat! I've actually been wanting to interact with you for a while, but considering my muse, I didn't know if an interesting interaction was even possible, so I've kept quiet. But you and your blogs are awesome and I hope you feel better!

Yeah I had to actually step away from tumblr because I had a two day meltdown and wanted to get away.

It’s not necessarily that I think my muses are useless but I ultimately end up pondering why I spent so much time investing personalities into them when I primarily interact with one person. I take a lot of time characterizing and pulling information, trying to build characters from let’s face it barely a foundation for what a character would be and at times a line or two of text on wikipedia (as well as whatever information results from various interviews with DSP done over the years).

Nowadays I’ve gotten more satisfaction and fame from writing my oc projects. I keep dipping out of the fandom because the 100+ people on my dev page and 20-100 subs per comic yield me more attention and they are characters I genuinely made vs. shit that isn’t mine.

I have a lot of muses, not just Fumus. I have Satanick, Lzet,Tsumuri, Yagi, Mephir, Dokugai, Rodise and Ico so man if there’s a will there is a way. I’m a very imaginative person so I can assure I’ll find a way for something to happen between us if you ever want to collab.

I feel...normal. That’s better than what I have felt so i’ll call it improvement!

11. an rpg that meant a lot to you :

the rp that i created my character ronan for is still pretty important to me even though it’s been dead for like a year, cause though it didn’t last very long i still got one of my all-time favorite muses from it, and i miss getting to write him basically daily. also it’s probably kind of cheating to say an rp of my own, but i had a group where skeletons were based on cursed mortals from greek myth and i was so excited about it, the muses were going to be from all over the world so interactions would be text and skype based and i thought it would be an interesting change of format, especially transforming mythological stuff into a technology kind of setting. i sunk a lot of time into the graphics and writing but it just never got any real interest so it never got off the ground. i might try and revive it someday tbh if i think i could get more people into it but for now it’s just on an indefinite hiatus.

i don’t really have any bio families ( projecting ?? me ? unlikely ) but i do have a lot of found families that i love, basically any of the multis i currently have going are full of dynamics that i would die for. platonic stuff gets hella overlooked in rp but tbh ? they fuel me

i’ve got a new 1x1 character that i’m smack in the middle of fleshing out rn but i don’t really know enough about him to say much here. the second most recent is for an rpg that i’m in— i brought two new characters in at once but one of them was a rework of an existing idea, so i’m gonna talk about eden cause he’s 100% new. i haven’t gotten to explore him on a deeper level just yet, at least not anything i’ve physically written, but he’s a mess of an artist / musician with a hell of a complex about his own self-worth. he judges himself almost entirely on how other people regard him so his whole identity is built on other people liking or wanting him, and while that works for some quick-fixes of validation, it’s not leaving him with a lot in the long run. basically he’s a disaster but he’s fun to write and i like his aesthetic so ya
