Today is the ten year anniversary of Elisabeth Sladen's death

#elisabeth sladen #sarah jane smith #doctor who #this was actually a really big deal for me when it happened #i was 17 and a freshman in college #and my friend donny had just gotten me into doctor who #and sarah jane was my favorite character #and on april 19 2011 i was at school all day #and me and donny used to stand in the parking lot and talk about doctor who for like 30+ minutes before either of us got in our cars #and that particular day i was telling him about sarah jane and how important she was in classic who #(donny was really only familiar with NuWho; i outpaced him very quickly after he got me into the show) #i didn't have a smartphone at the time so i didn't know what was happening in the outside world until i got home that evening #so then when i got home and went on facebook and found out that lis sladen had died that day #it was like.....idk.....especially devastating #like....i was just talking about her fifteen minutes ago #i haven't been obsessed with doctor who for a long time #but that day is burned into my memory #and ten years feels especially momentous so i wanted to make a post commemorating the day
