Camp Half Blood. First is the cabin leader/oldest unless the oldest of the cabin turns down the leader role. Demigods have become less frequent in recent years but every cabin has at least one occupant besides Hera’s cabin that is a tribute to the goddess.

Zeus: Cody Rhodes.

Zeus’ cabin is pure white, shadows appear to have lighting on them. Cody hates his father and regularly curses him, making a small camp away from a statue of Zeus to be able to sleep.

Hera: None, cabin is nothing more than a tribute. Constantly vandalized until Chiron told everybody to stop.

Poseidon: Roman Reigns, Mia Yim, Ava Grace

Poseidon’s cabin is much like a dock with walls built around it. A large fountain sits in the middle, one of many presents for Roman from his father. A small room appeared when Mia was claimed, to give her privacy. Roman has a trident from his father.

Hades: Malaki Black, Violet Giliath, Paige Bevis, Ruby Riott, Darby Allin, Rosemary.

The Hades Cabin is black with green flames lit on torches, the interior is also black, with beds lining the walls. Coffins used to be there but thrown out. Twins Paige and Ruby line their walls around their bed with band posters. Darby Allin had shelves installed for his skateboards. Malaki and Violet are co-leaders and as such each have private rooms.

Ares: Raul Mendoza, Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Elektra Lopez, Raquel Gonzalez, Leon Ruff, Adam Page, Dio Maddin/Mace, Keith Lee, Ember Moon

Ares cabin is painted dark red, the grounds alined with land mines, the cabin members usually like being paid in sharp things in exchange for being told where the mines are. Leon is constantly teased for being so small and skinny but his brothers and sisters defend him. Raul is the cabin leader due to Santos turning it down

Athena: TJ Perkins, Drew Gulak, Dominik Dijakovic/T-Bar, Sami Callihan, Jake Atlas, Mustafa Ali, Kay Lee Ray, Baron Corbin, Xia Li, Boa, Charlotte Flair, Adam Page

A white cabin, the walls are aligned with blue prints and all the beds have a private desk. TJ is in a constant battle over the cabin leadership with Charlotte who has grown selfish and wants to position for nothing more than it’s title.

Aphrodite: Vanessa Borne, Zelina Vega, Andrade Cien Almas, Angel Garza, Ace Austin, Zelina Vega,

A pink cabin that smells like perfume and hairspray. The sons and daughters of the love goddess are beautiful and could pass as supermodels. Ace has the rare ability of charmspeak, though he never uses it

A large cabin, completely gold, causing many headaches if looked at for too long. The children of Apollo are musically and athletically talented. Humberto happens to be the cousin of Andrade, Angel, and Zelina though their mortal side

Artemis: No one, the hunters of Artemis stay there whenever they visit the camp. Silver cabin that glows in moonlight

Hecate: Toni Storm, Bayley, Candice Lerae,

Iris: Mandy Rose, Xia Brookside.

Nemesis: Pete Dunne and Rhea Ripley (twins)

Eris: Liv Morgan and Jamie Senegal (twins)

Hephaestus: Becky Lynch, Jon Moxley, Wes Lee, Austin Flynn

This cabin looks a-lot like a factory, faded bronze and has smoke coming out of the roof twenty four seven. It is normal to see the children of Hephaestus covered in oil, dirt and cuts and bruises. The four occupants each made their bed, Austin’s has a radio stationed to Olympus and Becky’s has a waterbed for example

A simple wooden cabin with the walls taken out to make sure Johnny isn’t planning pranks or worse. A force field is around the cabin to protect him from monsters. A purple sword given to Johnny by his mother hangs on a hook, cursed to cause bad luck to whoever steals it until it is given back to Johnny.

BITCH I WAS NOT OMFGGGGG

I am SO glad I stayed away from clips of the show (for the most part lol) truly made the experience extremely special. like this is really my GOAT. THEE GOAT. And I got to witness her live and in person for a second time. I'm sooooo grateful and hopefully I'll have another opprotunity.

BUT WE ALREADY KNOW SHE'S THAT GWORL SO IMMA FOCUS ON THE DANCERS!

Amari Marshall is a fucking STAR. That's all I could think whenever I saw her. Stage presense on 100000. She's impactful.

Les Twins were utilized very well! I haven't seen them dance much since i hung up my fangirl cape, lol, but their dancing felt soooo familiar and I really enjoyed them 🥰

DANCE CAPTAIN HANNAH DLAINE! Y'all like to try my girl, but I loved everything she was doing on that stage. She may look diferent next to other dancers, but those lines, technique, elegance, that CLEAN look makes her great and Bey's fave 🤭

Simone showed up and showed out for her hometown! Definitely took notice of that. Ai, Alannah, and Brianna really held it down like the OGs they are. Kyndall may be the baby on tour, but she definitely rises to the occasion! love ha. Trinity is so radiant! Truly. This is her first big gig and she's definitely not taking it for granted. a PROFESSIONAL. Lisa, Nerita, ans Aakilah are all sooooo STUNNING? Truly shook looking at the three of them. Ms. Aliyah Janell doeeeeees thiiiiiiiiis lmao she was eating it up!

The boys, Rob, Zavion, Jus, Konkrete held it dooooown. They were utiilzed so well, especially in comparison to the boys on OTR2, no shade chile 🙃

Darius is also VERY STUNNING. FACE. CARD. and he can dance his ass off some ppl really have it all 😌. I loooved watching Carlos lmao idk what is was but i always found him whenever he was on stage 💕💕💕 And Jonté! Male Beyoncé himself! an undeniable talent.

and a special shoutout to Cha Cha Balenciaga! ate that ball right on up!

As for the choreography, I love the direction Fatima took it in. I know there's been criticism over how much Bey is dancing, but I think its the perfect balance of dance and vocals. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. the choreo matches the vibe of the album, of the era perfectly.

MOVE is my fave choreo at the moment, but now that I can watch clips lmao, that might change! I just cant get that Move Your Body Girl/Free Mind mashup out of my head 😌

Parashat Chayei Sarah

This week, the Torah devotes an entire chapter to Avraham buying Mearas Hamachpela - The Cave of the Patriarchs. What significance is this for his descendants? Why couldn’t the Torah have just said, “And Avraham buried Sarah in Chevron…”?

There is a Midrash that provides one answer to this question:

There are three places about which the nations of the world cannot taunt the Jews and say “You stole them.”: Mearas Hamachpela, the site of the Beis Hamikdash (the temple mount) and the burial place of Yosef.

Isn’t it ironic that today the nations of the world question our sovereignty over these sites? The three places that we know for sure belong to us, are being questioned to this very day. It’s no coincidence that the Torah makes a big deal about our rightful ownership of them. The Torah also goes into detail about the purchase of Mearas Hamachpela as well in order that we feel confidant about our right to it.

The Ibn Ezra gives a different answer, “This section is mentioned to inform us of the supremacy of Eretz Yisrael over all other lands, both for the living and the dead.” The fact that Avraham spent so much money and effort to aquire a burial plot shows how special Israel was to him (and should be to us).

The first plot of land ever bought by a Jew in Israel was Mearas Hamachpela. Avraham had been living here for 62 years prior to Sarah’s death yet we don’t find any mention of land being bought until this parsha. Why is this? Shouldn’t he have at least bought land for himself while Sarah was alive rather than a burial spot?

Hashem wanted to teach Avraham an important lesson, that Israel is only acquired through suffering. Before acquiring a piece of land for the living, one must first acquire a burial plot for the dead. In order to strike roots and settle down in Israel, one must first sacrifice for the land. It is an integral part of the absorption process.

So why must it be this way? Can’t it be easier to live in Hashems chosen land? The answer goes back to the Ibn Ezra. Since Israel is superior to all lands (physically and spiritually), it “costs” more. If Israel was the easiest, safest and most profitable place on earth to live, every Jew would live there today. “So what’s wrong with that?” you may ask. The answer is that Hashem wants us to live in Israel to get closer to him. He wants to be able to give a greater reward to those that sacrifice more to be with him. As Chazal teaches, “The reward is proportionate to the pain”.

Any failure to recognise this fundamental truth about aliyah is the main reason that so many Jews do not live in Israel. If these Jews would simply realise that it has to be this way and that it’s better for them in the long run, they would be there in no time. LEt us not forget immediately after Avraham buried Sarah, the Torah states:

וה’ ברך את אברהם בכל

And Hashem blessed Avraham with everything

Master violinist Itzhak Perlman is one of the most beloved Jewish public figures of the last half-century. His personal story; his birth to Holocaust survivors; his skills, modesty and playfulness, have made him an unassailable example of the humane, artistic, thinking Jew.

In a Billboard interview, after the release of the documentary film “Itzhak,” Perlman said it was “problematic” meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for tea after receiving last year’s Genesis Prize (shown in the movie), but that he felt he must honor the office.

The Genesis Prize is an award of four years’ standing given to recognize outstanding Jews’ “dedication to the Jewish community and Jewish values.” It aims to inspire “unity throughout the global Jewish community and the State of Israel.”

Regarding a hypothetical invitation to meet President Trump, Perlman said, “My argument about respecting the office? In this case I would definitely make an exception.” Perlman shows that limits can be reached.

The question is, can they be reached for him regarding Israel?

In refusing to appear at a ceremony with Netanyahu to accept her Genesis Prize this spring, Natalie Portman has illustrated that the dilemma of the liberal Zionist remains bleak. The key of liberal Zionism has been to count experiences of Arabs as exceptions to a generally wholesome Zionist project. As Palestinian Arabs find more voice in American media, pretending to that general blamelessness becomes harder.

Jewish Israelis live in a hothouse atmosphere of Jewish nationalism and existential threat. Among younger American Jews, Pew Research Center found there is a big drop-off in belief that support for Israel is important to Jewish identity, presumably due to their experience and practice of coexistence with non-Jews in the US.

There is a divergence between behavior of the older, Zionist-minded donors to Jewish Federations and the mass of American Jews.

It is hard for liberal Zionists to abandon Zionism once they accept it. While they don’t resist acknowledging the unjustness, cruelty, and dishonor built in to the project, they balk when it comes to abandoning the basic concept of “the one and only Jewish state,” as PM Netanyahu evokes at every possible occasion,

Functionally, there is no difference between a liberal Zionist and Netanyahu, a theme that should be emphasized. When the romance of “the one & only” is accepted, the ills are all there, inherent in the imposition of a Jewish state in an already populated land, leading to the recent slaughter of Gaza refugees.

Jewish life is hemmed with prohibitions to help protect human life, and we praise ourselves for our superior ethical nature. We should remind ourselves that history is full of cruel forces that believed they were fighting against barbarism and for civilization.

Looking to the example of how long it took the Zionist movement to take over Jewish institutions in the last century, the anti-Zionist movement among Jews faces a long fractious struggle to victory. Does that struggle, important in Jewish life, have any relevance to the struggle of Palestinians?

After the IDF began its human turkey shoot at the Gaza border, liberal Zionist Peter Beinart wrote, “Our community’s complicity in the human nightmare in Gaza should fill every American Jew with shame. The first step toward ending that complicity is to stop lying to ourselves.”

The “New Jew,” a proud, confident Jew, was meant to be created in the Zionist movement as a cure for what was diagnosed as the fatal meekness of the “unnatural” scholarly or mercantile Jews of Galut (exile). The aim and slogan was to “Negate the Diaspora!��

Historian Yitzhak Conforti writes that “the idea of the new Jew is an expression of the radical revolution that Zionism aspired to create in the life of the Jewish people.” In political Zionism, “the new Jew is a modern person stripped of historical baggage.”

Not only is the “New Jew” meant to be a proud creation, the state he creates is to be “invincible.” It is legitimate to ask whether we have made ourselves into something shameful, in our pursuit of strength and dignity. Shameful, as recognized early in the first aliyah period by cultural Zionist Ahad Ha’am (1856-1927) who raised the alarm that political Zionism imagined it could push Arabs of Palestine aside. Lo zeh haderech, “This is not the way,” he wrote.

After Natalie Portman’s startling refusal to be honored by the ”Genesis” Prize, is it unimaginable to think that Itzhak Perlman might honor the Palestine civil society appeal to boycott Israel?

If Mr Perlman is a Mondoweiss reader — not impossible — we may hear from him. He is known to be an avid supporter of social justice causes, and refused an opportunity to perform in North Carolina in protest of the anti-LGBT law HB2 two years ago.

The “major” American Jewish organizations, now anchored in Israel “advocacy,” are paralyzed from action. In a statement deaf to the sentiments of most Americans if not to their donors, the American Jewish Committee weighed in on Gaza: The AJC stands “shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel” and praises the Trump administration.

“We thank Washington for this moral clarity, when too many others suffer from moral fog.”

It is left to individual American Jews of prominence to break the taboo on speaking frankly on Israeli conduct. This will be a sign of the sentiment of everyday Jews making changes the ”major” Jewish organisations have not. Maybe they will carry Itzhak Perlman with them.

The movie “Itzhak” is in theatrical release, and will be televised in PBS’ American Masters series.

‘”…tidak ada kata-kata yang bisa saya ucapkan selain… Masya Allah terharu sekali’’ demikian ungkap Ustadz Bey Hanafi, usai menerima telepon dari Dewan Dakwah Pusat, medio Agustus lalu. Suara pengurus senior Dewan Dakwah di ujung ponsel mengabarkan, Bey berangkat haji tahun ini atas undangan Pemimpin Saudi, Raja Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

Selasa (22/8) siang, diantar keluarga dan familinya sebanyak delapan orang, Bey tiba di Gedung Dewan Dakwah, Jalan Kramat Raya 45, Jakarta Pusat.

Setelah melapor pada pengurus Dewan Dakwah, ia mengikuti kursus kilat ibadah haji yang disampaikan Ketua Laznas (Lembaga Amil Zakat Nasional) Dewan Dakwah, H Ade Salamun. Ayah tiga anak ini manggut-manggut saja mengikuti teori manasik haji, lantaran sebelumnya sudah membaca buku tatacara menjalankan rukun Islam kelima.

Lepas ashar, barulah Bey sempat makan siang di selasar masjid Al Furqon. Menunya hasil masakan istri sendiri, seperti balado sotong, ikan asin, ayam goreng, gulai ayam, dan kerupuk.

‘’Ini ceritanya kita sedang walimatus safar haji ya,’’ seloroh seorang pengurus Laznas Dewan Dakwah yang menemani Bey makan. ‘’He, he, iya, iya,’’ ucap Bey sambil tertawa.

Oleh Laznas Dewan Dakwah, Kafilah Bey Hanafi diinapkan di sebuah hotel di seberang Masjid Al Furqon. ‘’Padahal mah, biarin nginep di mesjid aja, bisa ngampar-ngampar nggak usah bayar,’’ tawar ustadz bersahaja ini.

Rabu (23/8) selepas subuh, Bey’s family diantar menuju kediaman Duta Besar Kerajaan Saudi Arabia (KSA) di Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat. Bergabung dengan puluhan undangan lainnya untuk diterima dan dilepas Dubes KSA, Osama bin Mohammed Abdullah Al Shuaibi.

Selanjutnya, tanpa disertai lagi oleh keluarga pengiringnya, rombongan calon haji menumpang bus menuju Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, untuk kemudian terbang ke Saudi.

Ustadz Bey Hanafi lahir di Desa Cigeulis, Kec Cigeulis, Kab Pandeglang, Banten, 4 Mei 1972. Setelah lulus Madrasah Aliyah, ia mengikuti pelatihan di Ma’had Al-Ghuraba. Selanjutnya, remaja ini langsung diterjunkan oleh Dewan Dakwah sebagai da’i di pelosok Desa Kie, Kecamatan Oilasi Kupang, Kabupaten Timur Tengah Selatan, NTT (Nusa Tenggara Timur).

Sempat shock Bey Hanafi di awal hidup bersama warga desa. Masyarakat yang sangat terbelakang dan miskin. Makanan utama mereka jagung. Pagi jagung rebus, siang nasi jagung, malamnya jagung titi (tumbuk).

Heran Bey, banyak warga desa ternyata belum bisa sekadar memasak air dengan benar. Maka, ketrampilan hidup pertama yang diajarkannya kepada masyarakat setempat adalah cara memasak air minum. Pelajaran ini berlangsung hampir sebulan.

Budaya lain warga desa ini adalah jarang mandi. Mulanya kepepet lantaran sulit air, namun lama-lama jadi kebiasaan. Di musim hujan pun mereka tak mandi. Hal ini juga menjadi tantangan Ustaz Bey, dalam rangka mengajarkan bersuci sebelum sholat.

Walau sudah agak lama menjadi mualaf, ternyata banyak warga pria yang belum bersunat. Maka, pada suatu hari Bey dengan dukungan Dewan Dakwah, menggelar sunatan massal di Desa Kie. Pesertanya mulai anak-anak usia belasan tahun hingga orang tua.

Bukannya dipanggil ‘’ustadz’’, Bey Hanafi di Nusa Tenggara Timur disapa “Bapak Pendeta Islam”. Sebagaimana warga pun menyebut masjid sebagai ‘’gereja Islam’’.

“Iya, saya dipanggil sebagai pendeta Islam. Kalau yang Katolik dipanggil romo,” kenang Bey sambil tersenyum.

Untuk berdakwah keliling masuk ke kampung-kampung, Bey Hanafi berjalan kaki. Untuk mencapai kampung lain, dibutuhkan waktu cukup lama. Kadang-kadang bisa satu hari satu malam baru sampai ke tujuan berikutnya.

Alhamdulillah, setelah berdakwah sekian lama, Bey akhirnya memiliki seorang kader dakwah. Dialah yang kelak meneruskan langkah Bey.

Sejak 1997, Bey Hanafi berdakwah di kampung halamannya sendiri. Selain di Cigeulis, ia juga berdakwah di Malingping, Panimbang, dan sekitarnya.

Selain dakwah bil-lisan, Bey Hanafi juga menjalankan dakwah bil-haal dengan dukungan Laznas Dewan Dakwah. Misalnya membentuk kelompok peternakan kambing, kelompok pembuat keripik pisang, singkong, dan emping, juga membudayakan pembuatan sarana MCK (mandi-cuci-kakus). Yang terakhir ini untuk mengikis budaya ‘’trio-dol’’; Dolbon (modol di kebon) alias buang air besar (BAB) di kebun, doli (modol di kali), dan dolwah (modol di sawah).
