Soriel is cute but I think it’s way funnier if they’re just friends but everybody thinks they’re dating through a series of comedic misunderstandings

Undertale Frisk
They’re a very shy kid who doesn’t divulge muchabout their life before falling into the underground, even to Toriel. They areselectively mute and only talk around those they absolutely trust, but theyhave an angelic singing voice and Toriel is still trying to convince them tojoin the 3rd grade choir. They’ve convinced Toriel to let them spend Saturdayswith Asgore over tea and cocoa or gardening, depending on the season. BecauseToriel is very busy during after-school hours, Papyrus usually picks them up,but Undyne will when she can, that is if she gets out around the time theydo (she’s the P.E. teacher). No matter which house they end up at, between Sansand Alphys, they’re always able to get help with their math homework. While theystruggle with math, they have a fascination with history and geography. Intheir free time they’re an avid reader, much to Toriel’s delight. She takesFrisk to the bookstore at least once every two months or so.
Underfell Frisk
Slightly more talkative and a few yearsolder than their Undertale equivalent. Despite their relative kindness toother monsters underground, they have a pretty thick skin. Not much really getsto them, which was a pretty important trait during their time in Mt. Ebbot.Underfell Toriel owns a quiet bakery that’s not too far from where they live, but, because of her hours, Sans usually takes them to his house. While they’rewith the skelebros, they tend to react to his (usually darker or lessappropriate) puns with even worse ones, which drives Papyrus absolutely batty. They have a passion for the sciences, which Sans is lowkey happy about becausehe’s a scientist and a physics professor at the local college (believe it or not). Frisk and Asgore have a rocky relationship. He respects them for freeing his people, but…he still has some hangups about humans. Frisk still tries to be nice to him and will occasionally try to bond. They just know they can win him over someday.
Also, Flowey usually accompanies them to school (keep in mind he’s docile in this AU, in the others he stays home), but Frisk has convinced Alphys to look for ways to restore him to his former self. She’s still looking, but confident she can do something about it.
Underswap Chara
Have you heard of the Passive Aggressive run in Undertale? That is Chara’s True Pacifist run (I imagine that in-game the player gets to choose between a rude or snide comment and a ruder or snider comment). Don’t get them wrong, they still won’t kill anyone if they have agency.  They’re nice on the inside, but whatever they went through before falling in caused them to tack on a layer of cynicism. The only person they show their true self to his Blue because how can you be mean to that face? Not to mention he’s the only one to have ever expressed that he believes in them. They’re also relatively calm around Papyrus and will sometimes join him to pull off a prank. Aboveground, Asgore has a greenhouse and gardening shop. Chara really like plants, so they’ll sometimes read or do their homework in the greenhouse so long as they’re not in the way. Asgore is a little more forgiving to Toriel than she is to him in Undertale because, no matter how you slice it, he’s still a really sweet guy or goat, so Chara will visit when they can and bake with her. Regarding academics, they don’t need a lot of help in school and they like to get everything done ahead of time so they can spend more time with loved ones.
Swapfell Chara
They’re very kind to everyone they meet regardless of whether or not they return that kindness to them. Everyone assumed they wanted something from them or had some trick up their sleeve, so they became the most distrusted person in the entire underground. Papyrus really appreciates it, though, as well as Sans, even if he won’t outwardly say it. On the surface, Chara’s dream is to become a diplomat. In the meantime, they’re an ambassador-in-training. They have a lot of book smarts and actually like going to school. Asgore owns a bookstore in the middle of town that they spend a lot of their time at after school. They will only occasionally visit Toriel. Asgore is disappointed in her and, while he wants to give her another chance, is still very protective of Chara because of…past actions.  Chara also spends time with the skeleton brothers as well as Alphys–they still have some things to smooth over with Undyne (she attempted to perform crazy and most likely painful experiments on them, but was never able to capture them). The two still get along while Chara’s there, however.
Underlust Frisk
They’re canonically asexual, so that stuff doesn’t appeal to them. They’re also the oldest of the protagonists, being a young adult, according to Niel (somewhere between 18 and 21 probably).  Frisk is the chosen ambassador from monsters to humans, so they travel frequently with Asgore and Toriel, but they have their own apartment in a quiet part of town. They live a quiet and orderly lifestyle and like to read, clean, paint and play piano in their downtime. Sans owns an “adult” store and Frisk will sometimes drop by to say hi if it’s not too crowded. Most of the time they hang with the brothers in their house or  at Frisk’s apartment. They’ll chill with Alphys and Undyne too, but they’re usually busy with…who knows what.
