My interpretation was also that she was with him before Arjun. Or maybe C & A have an open marriage, and used to have relationships with others when they were younger but not so much anymore.

Yeah, either way it definitely seems to be in the “not so much anymore” category. 

I don’t think I see it as them having an open relationship (although I would support it if they did!). Prefacing things by commenting on how long Arjun has been away suggests that it would be because she is lonely or their marriage is struggling, which shouldn’t be necessary to justify things if they relationship is/was open. 

But I can support a poly interpretation too.
