A la poesía… is part of an investigation into the language acquisition process, a period in which we process tones, rhythms and melodies to establish the forms of phrases and words. The piece recovers the musical experience of growing language in our bodies. A multichannel system presents in space and time a continuous-discontinuous sound that resembles that of a language in the world, but instead of imitating it, it reconstructs and reflashes it based on a small section of the language that, at the same time, seems to contain all of it, in the same way that a poem contains the whole language and, conversely, the whole language contains all the poems. Just as a poem is never fully understood, we do not fully understand each other when we speak; communication is, therefore, an isolated moment within non-communication and, conversely, non-communication is a momentary break from semantic conventions. Infinity, chance and the continuum of verbal experience are brought here by means of the multi-reading by computer engines of buffers that contain recordings of words and phrases chosen based on their appeal and strangeness. The world is made of language, but language, before meaning, is made of vibration. Everything that is heard in this installation is voice. Notes, research and drawing preparation for the advanced sculpture workshop. I looked at the work of Miroslaw Balka, Thu-Van Tran, Daniel Gordon, Thomas Houseago, Asier Mendizabal and Rachel Dejoode. I was particularly interested in the play between 2D and 3D which is apparent in a lot of the work. I had a few ideas for sculptures in mind however I was open to making models and drawing up ideas on the day. I also made a number of templates from my existing experiments to speed up the drawing/mapping process. 
Preparing for the workshop in this way meant I was able to jump straight into creating models and maquettes for large sculptures. It also provided me for sculptural ideas which can be completed at home.

Winning by Losing, curated by Catalina Lozano, questions and rethinks the paradigm of progress characteristic of modernity by exploring the dialectical relationship between winning and losing in relation to processes of change over time and that manifests itself in the potential stamps that emerge during their occurance.
On the one hand, it takes up the notion of regressive evolution, that is, the phenomenon by which the evolution of a species is benefited by the loss of a feature acquired in the evolutionary process. On the other, it finds echo in the way in which the sociologist Norbert Elias understood how a series of effective rituals can be petrified, become an end in themselves and naturalized in moments of transition within civilizing processes - modernity, as a permanent state of liminality, would then be an exceptional case study. In both cases, the rudiments of previous forms that were efficient can survive as marks, sometimes ornamental, that often enable the projection of new forms into the future.
Winning by Losing seeks, through contemporary artistic practices and some historical documents, to identify gestures and traces that bear witness to the subversion of certain temporal orders or the superposition of historical marks, critically analyzing contemporary rituals or the ideological naturalization of a supposed normality. The project also pays particular attention to instances in which the notions of evolution are disarmed -mainly in non-Western ways of thinking-, while considering the colonial stamp as the most embedded and efficacious in the contemporary world and, for that reason, the most susceptible to being disturbed.

Catalina Lozano (Bogotá, 1979) is an independent curator and researcher. She is currently Associate Curator at Museo Jumex in Mexico City. Her research interests and curatorial practice are focused on minor historical narratives that question hegemonic forms of knowledge. Analyzing colonial narratives and deconstructing the modern divide between nature and culture have acted as departure points for many of her curatorial and editorial projects. She was part of the artistic team of the 8th Berlin Biennale (2014). La Caña Brothers adquiere los derechos para desarrollar ‘Talión’
La serie Talión está basada en la novela de Santiago Díaz
La productora audiovisual La Caña Brothers, anuncia la adquisición de los derechos audiovisuales de Talión, para el desarrollo de una serie de ficción basada en la novela de Santiago Díaz.
Publicado por Editorial Planeta, el libro se ha convertido en una de las sorpresas de la literatura de novela negra de 2018 y tras su éxito en España está preparando su lanzamiento en Francia, Italia, Canada y Reino Unido.
La novela cuenta la historia de Marta Aguilera, una periodista de sucesos que tras recibir que sólo le quedan dos meses de vida, sin nada que perder ni nadie a quien rendir cuentas, decide ocupar el tiempo que la queda impartiendo justicia. El libro es una carrera contrarreloj entre la inspectora Daniela Gutiérrez que trata de detenerla mientras ella aplica su particular ley del talión.
La Caña Brothers tiene una amplia experiencia y un sello consolidado en la producción de programas de televisión, tales como Tabú, con Jon Sistiaga; Cuando Ya No Esté, de Iñaki Gabilondo; Otros Mundos, con Javier Sierra para #0 de Movistar+ o Dónde Estabas Entonces, con Ana Pastor y SCOOP de Mamen Mendizabal para La Sexta TV.
Este proyecto, junto al estreno de la película Sordo (Filmax International) dirigida por Alfonso Cortés- Cavanillas y protagonizada por Asier Etxeandía, Aitor Luna, Marian Alvarez, Hugo Silva, Imanol Arias y Olimpia Melinte, serán los proyectos claves para 2019 del desembarco de la productora en el mercado de la ficción nacional e internacional.
La adaptación contará con la participación del propio autor, Santiago Díaz, que cuenta con una dilatada carrera como guionista en televisión. “La historia escrita por Santiago es perfecta para crear una serie moderna donde la acción y la realidad te golpean y no puedes resistirte a quedarte enganchado a la historia.” añade la productora, “en el fondo, quién no ha fantaseado con poder hacer justicia a su manera alguna vez”.
