(It’s 11pm and I’m thinking about AstroBOYD so

Imagine the episode ended with Huey being the one to help Boyd come to his senses. I mean, moreso than he did already.

Like you know Gyro’s big powerful moment at the end? Imagine if that was Huey, trying desperately to appeal to the friend he’d made throughout the trip, and Boyd was swayed by the one person who had shown him unconditional kindness throughout the trip and always treated him like a real boy.

They hug, have a nice moment...

And then Akita attempts to override Boyd again, only for Gyro to step in and protect him, and earn that moment of redemption for himself. 

IDK, I think if we got that, it’d at least make up for how Huey was really underutilized in a season that was supposed to be about him.

Also it’d be cute, because best boys 🥺)

(This isn’t specifically Boyd related, but I started thinking about a Huey-Boyd-Doofus-Violet dynamic, and it’s like !!!

They’re all Junior Woodchucks, there’s some potential there for them to all be friends. Or at least, friends and Doofus at first, because of course Huey’s going to be wary of the guy who’s tried to hurt his babiest brother in the past and Violet...well, she just doesn’t know him very well and probably hasn’t heard a lot of pleasant things about him. She’s probably neutral at best and a bit hesitant at worst.

But also with them all being in the same troop, there’s a chance they’d have a lot of activities that cause them all to work together, and over time Doofus is like ‘Wait, I can actually make friends without being a toxic person and forcing people to like me??? I can do that???’. And probably mellows out a ton as a result, thus making Huey a bit more relaxed around him and Violet also being like ‘Hey, new friend’, while Boyd’s just happy that his brother and his friends are getting along.

Gonna just add that to the list of potential ideas for a Boyd-centric season that I’ll probably never actually write out but think about daily.)

(Heck with it, some Boyd stuff:

Likes: Junior Woodchucks, Huey💗, his family and friends, The Wizard of Oz books series (Especially the Tin Man and Jack Pumpkinhead), plants/gardening (especially sakura trees and pumpkins), patterns involving blue-and-white-stripes and yellow stars, other robot/artificial kids who want to be seen as regular kids, the color light-blue, farming/living simulation and open-world sandbox games, helping people.

Dislikes/Phobias: Akita, the idea of losing control of his actions, being unable to recall important events, the possibility of accidentally hurting his loved ones, being treated as a dangerous, unfeeling robot, anyone who might hurt his loved ones.

Some other facts: He writes down his daily events in a regular journal despite having a computer brain, due to his constant paranoia about his poor memory/experience with being controlled/gaslit by Akita. 

He not only takes care of all the plants in the Drakes’ greenhouse (there was never one shown in the show, but they’re rich; they can afford one), but probably does a lot of upkeep on the tree part of their house. He likes plants because of their organic nature, and being surrounded by them gives him the robot equivalent of a serotonin boost. Kind of like how we’d feel seeing a really cute kitten or puppy. 

After he moved in with the Drakes, he assisted Heidi and Joshua with repairing the home after the damage Doofus had caused to it. He didn’t have to, and they said just as much; despite Boyd giving them a chance at taking their lives back, they never wanted him to think was his job or that repairing the family was his responsibility in ANY sense. But he still wanted to help regardless; it was his home now after all, and families should still help each other out! Plus it was easier for him to clean the harder-to-reach spaces.)

(In the spirit of the holidays, and because I can’t remember if I said it before, Boyd’s love language is gift-giving. It’s very important to him that he gives his loved ones gifts that he puts a lot of thought and effort into, even if they insist he doesn’t need to.

His mother and father will tell him that him being a part of their family is a gift in itself, but he’ll still want to get them both something for Christmas that they’ll cherish greatly.

(Yeah, I might hash out some possible ideas for Boyd in a KH setting. It’s nothing too big or fancy, and is mostly centered around the events/overall setting of the first game, since I have the strongest connection to that game.

Basically when Duckburg and any related areas fell to Darkness, Boyd was knocked out and left in an inactive state (like how he was in canon after Tezuka knocked him out during the events of Tokyolk). When he came to, he was in a strange town with no memory.

And with no memory to tell him he didn’t COME FROM that town, he stayed there. It didn’t take long for him to realize that he was, well, a Definitely Real Boy, who could use his abilities to protect people from the strange creatures that pop up around the second and third districts, the alleyway on the outskirts of town, and the Gizmo Shop.

He probably ends up befriending a lot of the townsfolk. Not just the triplets (although he does grow pretty close to them because hey, they’re anthropomorphic birds just like him!), but he really likes helping out Cid. He likely goes to him for checkups after finding out that hey, he’s more nuts and bolts than squishy guts. And while Cid’s like ‘Okay what the fuck’ in regards to suddenly having a robot kid turn up on his doorstep, he’s also not going to tell the little guy to get lost. And he helps him out and teaches him how to take care of his system so everything keeps running smoothly.

Trying to figure out where to go from there with him. Maybe at some point Gyro shows up and events similar to what happened in Astro Boyd start to unfold. Maybe Sora and Co. show up and are like ‘Woah! A robot kid with a working heart?’ Maybe at some point he gets spotted by the big baddies because his heart is just so full of light, or because he has a heart at ALL despite being an artificial kid. He DEFINITELY befriends Pinocchio when him and his dad move to town.

I guess I don’t need to figure everything out now. I can just have Boyd enjoying himself in Traverse Town.)
