This one’s for the writers of Tumblr:

When you’re going to write something lengthy (novel, series, long fanfic, etc.), how meticulously do you plan out the storyline? Do you write bullet points for yourself, or do you flesh things out more? Do you write everything in order? (I know some writers don’t tend to plan, and that’s cool too!) 

I’m just curious what works for other people, because I’m still discovering what works for me. I’ve written some lengthy pieces, but not many, compared to things like short stories and poetry. In my efforts to write a novel, though, I’ve discovered that some amount of planning may be necessary for me, at least in that medium. 

So please share, I wanna know what you guys do :) Any tips are also very welcome!

I know people have extremely strong opinions on Dimitri and Edelgard, but can we just talk about how fascinating the parallels between them are? They have such similar backgrounds, such similar traumatic experiences, and yet the ways they learned to cope turned them into drastically different individuals. 

Dimitri is obsessed with the past. Edelgard is obsessed with the future. Because of their single-minded fixations, they are both “right,” and they are both “wrong.” And that is only the beginning of it.
