I could offer a suitcase from NAP. Interested? Of course you are interested. Part of your roots lie in the metropolis of Campania. Although, much to your regret, you don't even see it when you know it. If one had to estimate, one would perhaps come to Eastern Europe. In any case, you are far from "fare una bella figura". But then, Chicago is a long way from Naples.
The suitcase is really huge. With stickers on it. Some of the names don't mean anything to you…. Others could be the names of race tracks. But you are not sure. Surprisingly, your first attempt to open the combination lock is immediately successful.
Okay, you had expected many. But not motorcycle gear. Apart from the fact that the clothes all look much too small for you, you have no need for them… You miss a motorcycle. You find the compression suit quite cool and fascinating. It also looks very small. But you see if you fit in it. Yes, it's actually too short and too tight. And when you put it on, the hair on your body is annoying. But it feels good. The material presses your body into shape. And feels like a second skin. More for fun you put on the helmet and put on the gloves. You sweat madly. But it feels incredibly fantastic. And you have to cum.

Now you also have to see how it looks with the full outfit. You slip into the Dainese suit like into a glove. Must be the compression suit. The boots also fit perfectly. So that it fits better in color, you take the second helmet and the second pair of gloves from the suitcase. Awesome, what the outfit creates for an ass. It looks like it's made of concrete. And feels like concrete. You cum for the second time.

Upstairs in your apartment you realize that you have not yet completely emptied your suitcase. The leather shirt and the leather shirts are still inside. And you take off the compression suit. The return of Giallo Ducati: special liveries for the official WorldSBK and MotoGP teams for the Misano races. Ducati pays tribute to its history in the world of racing by announcing that both the official WorldSBK (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team) and MotoGP (Ducati Lenovo Team) teams will compete in the Misano rounds of their respective World Championships with a special livery characterized by the return of Giallo Ducati colour.

The project was presented during a press conference held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in which Centro Stile Ducati Director Andrea Ferraresi took part together with the Italian designer Aldo Drudi, the man who created the special livery . The unveiling for the fans took place shortly before the formation lap of Race-1 of the Italian WorldSBK round, when the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team opened the garage door and the official riders, World Champion Alvaro Bautista and teammate Michael Ruben Rinaldi, entered the track astride their respective Panigale V4 R in Giallo Ducati with race suits coordinated with the shades of the bike.

Yellow is a colour that has an important tradition in the history of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer. The first sport motorcycles in this colour date back to the first half of the '70s (the 750 Sport and 750 SS Desmo of the Spaggiari team), but it was in the '90s that Giallo Ducati, the colour that specifically inspired this livery, had the moment of greatest popularity with the adoption in the world of racing, which then extended to series production. The memorable models in Giallo Ducati certainly include the Ducati 748, whose racing version took Paolo Casoli to victory in the 1997 edition of the Supersport World Series, without forgetting superbikes such as the 916, 996, 749, 999 and other various models in the range.

so uh jess and i have been IN TALKS about racer!din and while i am still bouncing some ideas around i can't STOP thinking abt it so here's what i've got so far hehe

Din Djarin is an adrenaline junkie, first and foremost. a foster kid born and raised in remote California, he started fixing up his uncle's old cars and motorcycles at the age of fourteen. it was encouraged, at first, because it gave din something to do with his hands. it didn't take long for him to find a gang of kids that was just as bored and angry as he was. that's when he started drag racing with the weathered Ducati that was collecting rust in the garage.
it was about speed. it was about the scream of the engine beneath him as they ripped through the pitch-black desert, nothing but sand and the interstate beneath them. most of all, it was about hurling himself into something dark and furious with no promises to return.
things got bad when that same group of kids started robbing places--well, it got bad because they were good at it. like, really good. it offered the same kind of release, in a way. they spent most of the money on pills and booze, the rest on getting more parts. better bikes. they made promises to each other. auditioning at the racetrack in Lodi. going professional. making it to the big leagues: texas--no, din insisted, europe. where the real money was.
they were gonna get good, and then they were gonna get the fuck out.
that lasted all of six months. Din got arrested for a robbery gone wrong. someone got hurt. bad. he and his friends faces were plastered on every wanted list in a fifty mile radius because of a missed CCTV camera. it was pretty much a given that his life was over until a distant friend of his adoptive family, a mysteriously wealthy man by the name of Mr. Karga, paid his bail.
that same man was waiting for Din the morning he stepped out of his holding cell, standing in front of a Ferrari that stops Din in his tracks.
i've seen your tapes, he tells him, flashing a video of Din making a particularly harrowing maneuver that went semi-viral a few weeks previous. i'm gonna make you into a fucking star, kid.
Din accepted, reluctantly, on two conditions:
no teams, i go solo. and no one sees my face.
seven years later, Din Djarin is a ghost-like figure on the motocross scene. he's known for his ruthlessness on the circuit, only to disappear as soon as the race is over. Karga has capitalized on his insistence of anonymity to a near aggravating extent, but at least Din can appreciate being able to slip off the helmet and the suit and evaporate into the crowd.
Din is in Perth, Australia for the Grand Prix. after one of his practice sessions, he takes his personal bike--a beloved Ducati scrambler, affectionately nicknamed The Crest--to a diner as far away from the masses of fans and paparazzi as possible.
there, he orders a cup of black coffee. he doesn't look up from his phone as he does. but when the waitress makes a polite attempt at small-talk, he looks up. the waitress has kind eyes and a near uncontainable laugh. she's so beautiful that he forgets what she just asked.
you throw him a lop-sided grin as you scribble down his order. and then you introduce yourself.

Top Five Harley-Davidson Sportsters, Part One: Ironheads
Harley-Davidson has just rebooted one of the world’s longest-running model lines, with the launch of the new Sportster S. But remarkably, it’s only the third major engine update in the Sportster’s 60-plus years on this earth.
Before the new Revolution Max-powered Sportster S came, we had the Evolution motor that debuted in 1986. And before that, the iconic Ironhead. But throughout each era, the Sportster has always been a mainstay of the custom scene.
To celebrate, we’ve rounded up our ten favorite Sportster builds, divided by their motors. This week, we’re featuring five top-shelf Ironheads from some of the world’s best custom builders—including illustrious names like Max Hazan [above] and Hideya Togashi [below].

Hide Motorcycle There’s a long history of Japan’s love for Americana, and the humble Sportster is no exception. Case in point: this Ironhead Sportster by Hideya Togashi of Hide Motorcycle (that’s ‘Hee-day’). It was one of the stars of 2018’s Mooneyes show—a show that Togashi-san is a regular fixture at.
The bike’s built around an original but refurbished 1966 XLCH motor, complete with a Linkert DC-7 carb. But the rest of it is mostly is custom, and it was built without any specific style or theme in mind. “As always, I cherish the balance, and maximize the beauty,” says Hideya.
The motor sits in a scratch-built nickel-plated hardtail frame, with the OEM frame number plate grafted on. Hideya kept the original steering head, triples and forks, but added custom sleeves. The Harley rolls on 21F/18R wheels with drum brakes.
Hideya fabricated the aluminum headlight nacelle and fuel tank, and built the oil tank. The rear fender’s been scalped from a vintage Harley FX Super Glide, then modified to suit. Swept back bars and a pair of beautifully-bent nickel-plated exhausts add to the vintage vibe.
The paint’s extra classy too—a 1930s Harley scheme laid down by Skop Paint Works. Hide’s Ironhead blends vintage speedway and flat track styles together to create a minimalistic and impossibly cool machine. The perfect use of an Ironhead motor. [More]
Hot Chop Speed Shop Here’s another bike that stopped visitors to the 2018 Mooneyes event dead in their tracks: a twin-engined Harley drag bike by Kentaro Nakano at Hot Chop Speed Shop in Kyoto. Using two Sportster XLCH engines, Nakano-san built the monster as a tribute to the drag racers of the 70s.
Unsurprisingly, it picked up two awards at the show—from the top Japanese mags, Hot Bike and Vibes.
‘Double Trouble’ uses a 1969 Ironhead in front, with an older engine at the rear. Both run with S&S Super B carbs, fitted with custom velocity stacks. Kentaro’s friend Kazuhiro Takahashi of Sakai Boring helped rebuild the engines.
The two V-twins are linked by connecting plates, and their output shafts are connected to two separate primaries. The transmission’s a four-speed from a 1980s Big Twin and Kentaro has set the timing of the two motors so that they go ‘potato potato’ at idle, but scream at high revs.
The whole arrangement is housed in a custom hardtail frame, fabricated from steel tubing. There’s a set of early 70s Ducati Imola forks up front, with 18” rims at both ends wrapped in M&H drag slicks. Kentaro installed a pair of Airheart brakes up front, with a Wilwood brake out back.
All of the bodywork was fabricated in aluminum, from scratch. Fuel sits in the cylindrical reservoir up front, with oil held in the seat ‘cowl.’ Custom upholstery from Atelier Cherry adds to the period-correct look.
Double Trouble’s finished off with a narrow set of custom drag bars, with a 1970s H-D tacho out front. The bodywork’s been left raw, with tidy Hot Chop Speed Shop decals on the tank. Buttoned up, it’s both elegant and monstrous. [More]
Hazan Motorworks Max Hazan’s work speaks for itself, but what’s remarkable is that the American builder’s had an unmistakable signature from day one. If you don’t believe us, then consider the fact that this Sportster-powered artwork was only his fourth build.
“I start with a motor that I find aesthetically pleasing, put it on the table, and build the bike around it,” Max told us back then. In this case, the motor is exquisite. Max built it up with two 1981 Ironhead front heads, split the rocker covers and added matching Amal carbs.
The frame was built from 7/8” and 1” steel tubes, and also holds the oil and wiring. The front-end’s a work of art on its own; it uses two springs under the fuel tank, and a damper behind the headlight. The only rear suspension is a pair of springs under the seat, with about 1.5” of travel.
Max had a set of 1920s car tires in his hands, so he built the bike up with a 30” wheel out front, and a 31” hoop at the back. They suit the scale of the bike too—which measures eight feet long, but weighs just 300 lbs.
Almost everything was fashioned by hand, using metal that was lying around the workshop, or, in some cases, small salvaged parts. There’s a frosted shot glass as a taillight cover, and a porcelain doorknob on the hand shifter. HardNine Choppers The 1979 Harley-Davidson XLCR is arguably too rare to be customized these days, but the owner of this Sporty has three. So he had no qualms about handing one over to Swiss builder Danny Schneider for a makeover.
Danny, who operates as HardNine Choppers, is an ex-motocrosser who had previously built two Triumph flat trackers, and was itching to give a Harley the same treatment. So he took on the project with the provision that he could turn it into a tracker. Luckily, the client agreed.
Danny’s work went deep—starting with the motor that he bored out from 997 cc to 1,340 cc, with KB Performance pistons. The carb is from the Harley performance specialists, S&S Cycle, and the exhaust is a custom nickel-plated system that exits under the seat. Danny had to relocate the oil tank to accommodate it.
The custom fuel tank echoes the lines of the original XLCR unit, but it’s actually a slimmer, split design (the left side houses the oil). Danny hand-shaped an aluminum tail section too, with slits to help dissipate heat. He made the seat pad himself, too.
Suspension is by way of Showa shocks from an FXR, fitted with Öhlins cartridges, and Bitubo rear shocks. It rolls on 21F/16R spoked wheels, with a Beringer brake set that Danny drove to the French company’s HQ to have made.
This XLCR is a clever mix of classic style and modern parts, tied together with a host of custom touches and a fresh paint job inspired by a mini-bike spotted on the street (true story).
It’s also a great story of perseverance; Danny took a two-year break in the middle of the project to welcome his daughter into the world and battle testicular cancer. Then he crammed two month’s worth of 15-hour days in to finish it in time for the MBE Expo show in Verona, Italy. Much respect. [More]
DP Customs We’ve featured a slew of slammed and hot-rodded Harleys from the now-defunct DP Customs over the years, but this was one of their wildest. Brothers Jarrod and Justin Del Prado built it as a personal project between client jobs, using Justin’s own 1000 cc 1979 Ironhead Sportster as a donor.
DP Customs went all-out, starting with a turbo that had been sitting in the shop waiting for the right project.
The motor was rebuilt with forged pistons and new valves and springs, then the turbo was installed with a custom draw-through setup, and a Mikuni carb. From the custom aluminum intake and exhaust, to the custom oil system that runs into a Mooneyes tank, it’s an impressive setup.
Like three of the other Harleys on this list, this one features a scratch-built hardtail frame. It uses DP Customs’ signature 6” stretch and 4” drop, with a custom 19” wheel up front, and a modified 15” car wheel at the back. The front brake’s a Brembo, and the rear is a custom system with a combination sprocket and rotor.
Up top is a wafer-thin seat, with a traditional peanut tank up front. DP Customs installed clip-ons with Biltwell Inc. grips, and head- and taillights—but there’s no speedo, and no turn signals. The asymmetrical paint job, red frame and gold wheels should clash, but somehow they harmonize, maximizing the Harley’s eye candy appeal.
DP Customs admit the bike wasn’t built with practicality in mind, summing up that “it hauls ass in a straight line, and the brakes work.” [More]

Photoshoot of the Week: April 27th-May 3rd 2020 - Ducati Monster 796 & Mrs Black Soul

Stopped since last March 13th, with the exception of the Research and Development Department activities, Ducati has finally got the engines back this week. A "gradual return to normal" which at the moment involves only a part of the workers destined for the production lines. First the workshop workers were back, then the engine assembly workers and, from 28th April, also the motorcycle assembly ones. For all other employees (such as designers, project managers and designers) the use of smartworking will remain mandatory, with access to the plant allowed only to those who have no physical way to carry out the activities remotely. In compliance with the safety protocols issued by the Italian Government, internal production has been completely reorganized, for example from an 8 hour shift to two 7 hour shifts to allow the minimum number of people to be inside the plant at the same time and, therefore, reduce possible contacts. Furthermore Ducati, thanks to an agreement between the unions and the employers, have established even stricter rules, such as the use of masks, regardless of the distance between workers. In total safety, the reopening of the production lines will allow Ducati to get back on track immediately: Ducati's aim is obviously to lower the negative effect of the production halt, unfortunately at the worst time of the year, given that Ducati has a large order portfolio and costumers are waiting for their bikes. Anyway, even if Ducati wouldn't have been able to manage this chrisis, awesome German bikergirl and "metalhead and Bike addict" Mrs Black Soul was already prepared to get back on tracks with her stylish, iconic and a little retro looking 2011 Ducati Monster 796, which she got last year. It won't be straight from the factory, nor full of up to date tech and besides storage and wind protection are minimal but that model is still a work of art in performance and efficiency (not including the manageability). Getting an used motorcycle is right now a really good choice, especially when industries are slowly starting out but we do need to speed up riding and moving around the city quickly, safely, without problems or parking or social distance. Believe me, Mrs Black Soul definitely knows what she is doing. As her Instagram account declares: "Working in the motorcycle industry, it‘s not just a hobby!" *** *** *** Ten years ago, in April 2010, Ducati unveiled its newest naked bike, the Monster 796, producing a factory-claimed 87 hp (65 kW). Before the 2011 Ducati Monster 796 was unveiled, the rift within the Monster lineup was considerable: the entry-level 696 served as a great advanced beginner bike, while the 1100 offered a considerably more ballsy option. Ducati's lineup sticked to a lightweight, performance-oriented theme, and the new Monster 796 adhered to the level of form and function we've come to expect from the Italian manufacturer. A steel trellis frame helps the naked middleweight achieve a dry weight of 368 pounds, and the air-cooled 803cc L-twin engine produces 87 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 58 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 rpm, a gain of 7 hp and 7.4 lb-ft over the 696 model. Like the Monster 696, the 796 featured non-adjustable Showa 43mm inverted forks up front, while the rear monoshock by Sachs was preload and rebound adjustable. The Monster 796 incorporated a wet, hydraulically actuated clutch with an APTC slipper unit (a la Hypermotard 796), and unlike the littlest Monster, the 796's swingarm was a slick, single-sided design. As with the Monster 1100, the 796 received aluminum tapered handlebars and Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires; the wheels and tires were identical to the big bore Monster's, apart from their black finish with short section pinstriping. Dual-disc, 4-piston Brembos were found up front, with a 2-piston disc at the rear. The Monster 796's ergonomic triangle was been revised for greater comfort: the handlebar was .79 inches taller, the saddle had been re-shaped for greater comfort (and sits .39 inches lower than the 1100's), and 4-point adjustable hand levers had also been incorporated. Thanks to the re-contoured seat and slightly revised ergonomics, the Ducati Monster 796 naked middleweight feeled noticeably more comfortable than its predecessors. The single-sided swingarm's design moved the seat .2 inches higher than the Monster 696's (to an altitude of 31.5 inches), and that repositioning might deter those of shorter stature. But the added clearance benefited the bike's handling, especially when it came to canyon carving. Though it was still got a sporty, arms forward posture, the comfier seat resulted in a less intimate relationship to the tank, reducing sensations of between-the-legs claustrophobia. The Monster 796's gruntier engine and single-sided swingarm were notably more lust-inspiring than what the 696 had to offer, and with a price difference of only $1,000, those two distinctions cannibalized sales from the smaller-engined stablemate. That said, the 796 still now hones in on the qualities many riding enthusiasts are looking for in a naked middleweight: a quick, nimble, reasonably comfortable, and appropriately priced ride with loads of personality. First thing first, modern AU Zeke has Jordan Bolger’s accent. I need Raven to hear his voice before she sees him, think damn, then turn around and not be disappointed (if you haven’t heard his voice, let me bless you today) Also it’s about to be (kind of?) a college AU so hope that’s cool?
SCENE 1: a hackathon, an annual competition hosted at the USNA; Raven is repping MIT and when she walks in, people start elbowing each other, pointing at her. That’s THE Raven Reyes. She’s won the last three years. CIA is looking for her once she graduates, but she’s not really the desk job sort of girl. Did you see her bike? She built it in her spare time, completely from scrap, refurbished it from an 80s model. She’s legend. 
She smiles to herself, flips her hair a bit, stares down the competition she knows, and walks over to her seat, texting Clarke that it’s too easy with these nerds. 
The competition starts and of course, Raven is nothing but cool. She’s on top of her game, and is just about to push her latest update when her screen flickers. She freezes. Everyone else’s does too, but then the screens go back to the normal display and everyonebreathes a sigh of relief, going on. Raven narrows her eyes and opens another browser, just playing out a hunch… nobody notices that she’s left her main console open, that she’s working in another command center, but everybody notices when she pulls her legs off the desk in front of her. Her lips are pursed but her eyes are alight with a challenge. 
Minutes pass and she leans forward, fingers flying. She types a few morelines, mutters ‘boom’, then leans under her desk and yanks out thecable. Her screen goes dark and everybody looks around in confusion. She grabs a pen and pencil that were on the desk, scribbles a couple of lines on the scratch paper provided, and walks over to the moderators’ desk, setting the paper onto it. “That’s an ip address, somewhere in the UK,” she says, pointing, “they hacked the mainframe, they can see all of our screens, and they’re pulling all the code everyone is writing and feeding it nicely onto this,” she taps the paper again, “site; he’s blasting it out online. I don’t write for free, so I dropped a virus in his system. You can track that here,” she taps one last time, before pulling back and sticking her hands in the pockets of her jeans. “It’s pulling everything it can from his machine. Once the upload is complete, it’ll fry his drive.” She turns from the desk, strides out of the room. It’s completely silent, then everyone else starts pulling their cables too. 
They call off the competition; nobody wants to talk about how someone calling themselves The Acolyte managed to get onto the server that’s encrypted with the same security as most of the branches of the US government. They ask how Raven was able to find their hacker, since that means she’d have to access the same server, and do it without Uncle Sam or The Acolyte knowing about it, and she cocks an eyebrow at them. “Ye of little faith,” she shakes her head, then calls the airline to move her flight up a couple of hours. 
SCENE 2: bellarke house party. Raven doesn’t often go into Boston but she makes an exception for her friends’ house warming. It’s a gorgeous brownstone, with Clarke’s avant-garde pieces hanging throughout, and a dark library for all of Bellamy’s books. The house is BRIMMING with people, and Raven smiles to herself, happy that her friends have so many people who want to celebrate them. 
The night goes on and people are weaving in and out of the narrow hallways and the lights are dim and she’s eavesdropping near the fireplace, listening to some guy with a really lovely British accent talk about a solo motorcycle trip he took across Europe. She’s laughing a bit to herself—come on, does he really expect them to believe he made it from Madrid to Andorra in 5 hours? —when someone trips and someone else moves to avoid their drink, and then someone else steps into her. She’s sure they didn’t mean to, but they hit her left knee just right and she’s falling when someone catches her.  
Strong arms are at her elbows and when she turns to thank whoever caught her, she doesn’t recognize him. He has a jawline she could cut herself on, gorgeous brown eyes and an amazing mouth that just happens to be turned up in a bit of a smirk when he realizes she’s looking. “You alright?” he asks easily, and she realizes that this is the renegade biker and his voice suits him. But she doesn’t like to be caught off guard and she especially doesn’t like it when it’s because of her leg so she pulls her arms back, nods curtly, and says “It’s 609 kilometers from Madrid to Andorra; does your bike have wings?” and then he really grins and she can’t help herself, but that’s a pretty sight.
He pulls her into the group conversation, and Raven likes the light rise and fall of his voice. She also likes the relaxed way he’s standing, the way he fills up the corner of the room, the way he tells stories and they way he seems to be noticing everyone around him. He’s smart, and it’s a lazy kind of intelligence, where people might not assume itwhen they meet him, but that’s an advantage. She can tell, because she gets his humor. He’ll say something to the side, mutter it, and look over at her in surprise when she snorts, because she heard it, and was thinking it. He’s not used to someone catching it, and Raven’s amused by that.
At some point, he pushes the sleeves of his jacket up his forearm, and she notices the tattoo just under his elbow. She asks him about the bird there and he shrugs, saying it reminds himof this line from a poem, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before, that he heard when he was in primaryschool, and how it stuck with him, and whenever he sees the ink, it reminds him to venture, never settle. He adds that it’s by this guy Edgar Allen Poe, called The Raven, and she realizes he’s either the boldest person she’s met, or he truly doesn’t know who she is. Either way, the next time someone pushes into someone else, and the room shifts to readjust, she steps closer to him.
She leaves with him. Is okay with him not knowing her name, okay because look at him, and he’s looking at her like he’s thinking the same, and after the disaster that was the hackathon, she could use a break. She’s not usually one for hookups, but then again she’s never met a British guy with eyes that are as quick as hers, and hands that feel like fire on her skin, and a voice that sends shivers through her. He’s careful of her leg and he keeps checking that she’s okay and when she falls apart, the awed expression on his face sends a jolt of emotions through her that she wasn’t expecting. She lets herself fall asleep in his bed, his hand running through her hair and hers tracing the ink on his arm. She’s tempted to ask about the other tattoos, but she doesn’t.
She wakes at the crack of dawn, like she always does, slips around the room to grab her clothes while he’s still waking up. It’s not awkward, but she thinks they both know that this is it, and not to make a big deal out of it. But as he makes her some coffee, the picture of domesticity in his kitchen with sweatpants around his hips and his face still half asleep, she finds herself wishing that maybe it could be more.
But she has school and she assumes he has a life to get back to, so she plants a chaste kiss on his pretty mouth, leaves the coffee on the table, and lets herself out.
The next weekend, Clarke asks her at brunch, eyes laughing and expression telling, if she and Zeke got along as well as she had predicted. It takes Raven a minute to connect the dots that her hot hookup was the ex-RAF pilot that Harper had met when she was overseas, and that she and Clarke had been trying to sether up with for forever (”seriously, Rey, he might be the only guy ever who’s on your level”). But she dunks some more sugar into her coffee, rolls her eyes and says that she didn’t really get to talk with him—it’s true, they really didn’t talk much—but that that’s probably a good thing, since she doesn’t go for guys who think that being on her level is a competition. Clarke mutters that sometimes someone really is just that perfect for you, and Raven takes the opportunity to divert her friend to her boyfriend, which Clarke happily bites at. She’s easily distracted when it comes to him.
Classes resume and Raven is disappointed in herself. She doesn’t let guys get under her skin, no matter how gorgeous they are, or how well they can handle a Ducati, but here she is, wondering what brown eyes is doing with his week. 
She gets a call from Annapolis on Wednesday morning: they found the hacker. Well, sort of. Turns out, The Acolyte had a couple pet viruses of his own, and whenever his machine went down, they backfired on thesource. He lost everything, sure, but he’d gotten halfway through the mainframe of the hackathon before they caught him. And now he had a firewall set up, locking them out of the system and him in and, they were embarrassed to ask this, but would it be possible for Raven to take a look…
She does. Rolls her neck and sitsdown at the computer they give her in a room that isn’t supposed to exist. She’s slipped in through a backdoor and she whistles in admiration as she has to work her way through three more layers. It’s sophisticated stuff. Flashy, a bit much for her taste, but excellence can afford elegance. You can tell a lot about a developer by how they write code, and The Acolyte is no amateur. She’s surprised: usually hackers like this use their skill to steal or blackmail. This guy, he just seems like he’s trying to prove a point. But he’s protecting something.
Three hours in, she finds it. He hacked the competition because there was a backdoor through the USNA server into a subset of DACA records. The administrators behind her are getting nervous—it’s fair, Raven figures, they can’t read a thing on her screen, and she’s been focused pretty intently for the last half hour—but she doesn’t cue them in. Because, after all that effort, he’d just changed the deportation date for a couple hundred kids. Given them a chance to stay in the states, extend their future. Raven bites her lip. She thinks for a millisecond, then she changes her strategy. She still takes down the firewall, still wipes his drive. But she erases The Acolyte from the code, and publishes the code with the authority of one of the men behind her. The Acolyte is out, but his changes are in, and locked. And she left him a message.
She doesn’t know if he’ll show, but a week later, she’s back in Boston, waiting at the Common. She leans against one of the pillars, looking down at the Brewer Fountain. Just as her watch shows 4pm she straightens, not believing her eyes. But sure enough, she recognizes the broad shoulders and jawline of the man casually holding a rosary—she thought she was clever— and pacing back and forth in front of the fountain, looking around curiously. And as she goes down to meet him, she finds she’s smiling, wondering if maybe Harper and Clarke were on to something. 
“Zeke Shaw,“ she says when she gets closer, and he turns, recognizing her voice. A couple different emotions run across his face, then he laughs, his hand coming up to cover his mouth as he steps towards her. 
“Are you kidding? I was up against Raven Reyes?“
“You’re lucky, I went easy on you.“
He snorts. “You wiped my hardrive.”
“You crashed my competition.“
His eyes are laughing and he lifts his chin at her. “Come on, that wasn’t a competition for you.”
He’s right, and her smile stretches. “Rarely is.”
He stares at her for a long moment, admiration mixed with humor in his eyes. Then he shakes his head. “Now that, I believe.”
