My absolute favorite thing about their relationship is that I don’t think their love would ever truly dwindle or die. Even when he fell in love with Buffy, threatened to kill Drusilla for her, I don’t truly believe he would have. I think, in that moment, he thought he could, but he didn’t. He was angry at her, of course, but she is his just as much as he is hers. He is the Gomez to her Morticia, so to speak. They have a history and a love that goes beyond anything else. They are each other’s ride or die. She rescued him and gave him a new purpose in life he never realized could have been possible and she loved him unconditionally where no one else did. His faults and his poetic nature, even more so his bad side. She loved it all. In turn, he loved her for hers. Their forever may differ, but they are forever.
