I think the die choice may have been the good ending if you think about the choose your own adventure tapes.

When you choose whether to kill the person or die, the person in the video is ranboo. Earlier when you’re asked death vs. life, if you choose life, it calls you naïve.

Putting this in the context of the ending of TSE, I think choosing to keep them alive may be “naïve” and killing them was the way to go.

So, tomorrow’s update day. It’ll mark the end of Episode 16.

I know people are probably busy with school and/or work picking up. In that regards, I couldn’t have scheduled this last handful of chapters for a worse time of year. Still, I hope those of you that do read it enjoy it.

I’m not going to lie. It’s... going to be another slow one. But that’s entirely intentional. Two of the three main scenes revolve around grieving. Yes, for those who have played the PMD games, we’re at that moment. I’ve tried really hard to attempt to capture that same sentiment that the end of the canon games give off. But, well, whether I succeed at that or not is something I leave to you all to judge. So, comments would be greatly appreciated.

Grief is... never an easy subject to write about. I tried to draw from my own experiences losing extended family members like grandparents. During the whole process, life has a tendency to slow down all around you. It can be the same way with depression. And that’s what I was trying to capture, especially with the first scene in this next chapter.

With any luck, this turns out to be a good chapter. At the very least, by the end of it you guys can stop asking what the deal is with a certain someone. >_>

Necrozma snakes his way through the swirling colors and distant checkerboard patterns of Ultra Space, flapping his giant wings as he goes. It seems that, for all his newfound strength, he can’t quite pinpoint where in the bridge between worlds and realities the few that escaped his wrath sauntered off to.

“Where are those contemptible fools?”

He slows up, his third eye narrowing. A huge spark of energy catches his attention and he looks to his right. His other two eyes flash purple, probing the chaos of Ultra Space for any vulnerabilities. It doesn’t take long for him to force open a jagged Ultra Wormhole and fly inside of it. On the other side, he finds himself high above a series of tiny islands. There’s nothing of interest he can see besides a single mountain jutting into the air.

... no, wait, that’s not quite true. There may not be much to see, but there’s plenty to sense. Numerous strong spirits dwell here, alongside...

“... humans. So, I’ve found a world of humans and pokémon, have I?”

Necrozma’s aura flares out, filling the sky with hues of purple and red.

“Yes, it’s clear to me. These pathetic mongrels are leeching off their pokémon. Using them to hide from their own, inevitable destruction.”

“Well, I won’t stand for it! All life is a mistake! I will snuff out your souls and turn your world to dust! I am Necrozma, Light of Oblivion!”
