As a dragon blessed with the ability to take any human-like form he wished, Armok was typically Rhoam's first choice as a scout when traveling. He was able to quickly change guises based on what manner of folk were likely in the former king's path, a convenience that hardly needed stated.
Yet he returned with an interesting report this day. As Rhoam made to return to Lookout Landing, Armok informed the former king of a man in... curious garb. Wealthy garb that did not befit any who existed in this time save for Rhoam himself– as the king's traditional robe and crown had traveled through time with him. Armok reported a man in a long blue robe with gold trimmings, and white boots and gloves with similar effects.
It did not feel to Rhoam as a trap, but he felt it wisest to send someone more knowledgeable with magic; Gateni might have an idea of how such a curiosity could exist, with further inspection and perhaps a conversation. And... it couldn't hurt to send Raven as well. For good measure, and Gateni's protection; it wouldn't do to send her alone to what could very well be an... adversary.
So the fire mage and the king's best walked down the southerly road in the direction of the Great Plateau together. Armok had sighted this individual by its great gates leading downward, after all.

Police probing whether Nagirinya could have murdered by Husband's family
Besides trying to find out whether she (Nagirinya) had ever complained to him of any threat on her life, the investigators also sought to find out “whether he (Gateni) knew Ronald Kitayimbwa, the purported driver who was murdered together with Nagiriya”.
A joint security team has again quizzed the husband of social worker Maria Nagirinya to help them with investigations into her murder.
Edgar Gateni was questioned for the second time sometime last week, according to his brother, Jessy Gateni.
“After the burial, security picked him for questioning, but last week they picked him again for further questioning,” Jessy said.

Gateni looked tired, Wynne kept a cold facade– but Bryn stuck out her tongue defiantly. She had the good sense not to say what she thought, but the gesture alone might have been enough to land her in hot water. "You couldn't even if you tried."

Gateni’s been a knight of Hyrule for a long time… and has seen the horrors of war. She’s seen monsters eat her comrades alive. She’s seen innocent civilians suffer fates they shouldn’t have. Nightmares have terrorized her since her first battle on the front lines as a spellcaster. It wasn’t entirely her brilliant execution of fire magic or tactical mind that earned her post, it was in large part due to a bout of war-weariness that King Rhoam happened to see. She’s lucky, though. And she knows it. She may be tired, but she somehow hasn’t given up hope for the world.

Weakest alcohol tolerance of the royal guard: RAVEN ALLAWAY
This was discovered when they all went drinking one night, and Armok decided to be funny and challenge everyone. Raven was the first and only one to pass out. Gwyn was pissed at both him for falling for such a thing– a drinking contest with a dragon– and Armok for pulling that stunt. Raven doesn’t drink often, as getting shitfaced tends to weaken necessary skills, and he doesn’t like that even off the clock.
In his royal guard verse, however, Shanz has the lowest tolerance. He’s very small and relatively inexperienced with booze.

I mean, dragon. If you don’t count him, then it’s Bryn. She’s built hers up for a little while, being among the older guards.

Rhoam rubbed his eyes as he read a one-page document that Armok had placed on his desk.
It was a petition from the guardsmen, in the name of revelry for the year's end, to have a celebration among the guardsmen that would feature a drinking contest. Rhoam was invited to take part. Each of the guardsmen– even Gateni, who did not drink, and Wynne, who believed in propriety above all, had signed this.
Was he reading this right, or had stress affected his eyes?
He laid the page to the side for the moment, sat back in his chair, and closed his eyes. He let a minute pass, then another; finally, he opened his eyes and reached for the parchment again.
It was still the same, featuring all twelve signatures. The petition itself was written in Raven's hand. So he really wished to hear it from Gwyn when he inevitably lost the contest, hm?
Very well. Rhoam picked up his quill and signed his approval.

Oh yeah for the royal guardsmen's TotK verse, they're almost all romantically available due to their spouses dying over a period of approximated 107 years (I estimate there's 7 years between BotW and TotK). The exceptions are Gateni and Hubert, since their spouses are still alive (Gateni married a dragon, and Hubert married a Shiekah).
So go ahead and romance Vair ;)

LORE DUMP because there is a reason Gateni is a war criminal
Two generations ago, a princess named Enid was set to inherit the throne and a grand, sacred power. She was a spitfire personality who deeply resented the gilded cage she grew up in. Perhaps this was the source of her strength, how she was able to tap into the divine sealing power that was her birthright as a princess of Hyrule.
One day, Enid took a handful of belongings and fled the castle. Her fate is unknown (That’s for another post), but she was never seen again. Her younger sister, Bridget, became heir in her place. After Enid’s disappearance, the leash on Bridget tightened, and she was engaged to the man Enid was previously to marry, a nobleman named Uther. Uther was, by all rights, a terror on the battlefield, and his family was wealthy and powerful. The royal family hoped to regain some of the influence they had lost when Enid ran away by gathering the assets they would gain from Uther’s family.
When Bridget’s father passed, Uther became king, and he began his conquest. By his sword and word, Hyrule was united under one standard– and this imperialistic conquest put many innocents to the sword. Many cultures were lost in the name of making Hyrule into one great land. Some were spared this– the Bhelthirs of Ordorac, the Mulrennans of Madorna, the Liuvigilds of Damel, for they each tended springs frequented by dragon spirits (Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh, respectively). Many Hyruleans were conscripted and sent to their deaths.
Uther’s disappearance was sudden, and to this day has not been explained. Many lives were saved that day when it happened. This is when Rhoam took the throne, husband to Bridget’s daughter Rhiannon and father of Zelda. Some of the royal guardsmen who serve Rhoam remember Uther’s days– Gateni Yaeldrin certainly does, for it was Rhoam who pardoned her after she defied orders and spared civilians a fiery death.
There are those who bear a deep hatred for Hylians after Uther’s deeds, and those who know a people are not defined by a tyrant who rules them. Ki of the Zora, a member of Link Allaway’s squad, owes his reluctance and mistrust of Hylians to this bloody history of Hyrule. But there is hope that the past can be learned from, that crops and be resown and livelihoods rebuilt– even if the lives lost can never be retrieved.

Bryn: Powerful mercenary commander in Daein during the Mad King's War, defects to Crimea after seeing Petrine order the floodgates of Talrega open.
Delphine: Isekai sent to Crimea a few years ago. Part of Greil's mercenary band, skilled thunder mage.
Erdan: Raven laguz who fled Kilvas with his husband before the blood contract took effect. Lives in Crimea, flees Melior when he sees the Daein invasion beginning the Mad King's War.
Gateni: Former commander of Daein, with a conscience, who turned on her superior and fled afterwards. Living on the run until after the Mad King's War, then seeks asylum in Crimea.
Gwyn: Former Crimean spy, long since left the court. Married to Raven. Still picks up information now and then.
Halcyon: wolf FOX laguz of Hatari, comes with Queen Nailah, Volug, and Rafiel to Tellius, but splits off at the sight of treasure.
Hubert: Knight of Crimea, fights alongside Lucia, Geoffrey, and Bastian to free Crimea of Daein during the Mad King's War. Unrelated to Delphine in this verse.
Isaac: Soldier of Crimea, gains some respect and renown for his abilities during the Mad King's War. Encountered in Canteus Castle along with Nephenee, Kieran, and Brom.
Lambda: Heron laguz branded like Micaiah, but not nearly as much legend is tied to her. She's a light mage as well and very skilled in healing, though she requires a staff.
Leonard: Knight of Crimea, fights alongside Lucia, Geoffrey, and Bastian to free Crimea of Daein during the Mad King's War.
Lita: Red dragon laguz. Left Goldoa because fuck their stance.
Thorn: Branded. Knight of Crimea, fights alongside Lucia, Geoffrey, and Bastian to free Crimea of Daein during the Mad King's War. His father was a knight of Daein who fled to Crimea after falling in love with a cat laguz.
Raithyon: Black dragon branded, runs a band of thieves who steal from the wealthy wherever they go, typically in Beorc countries (Begnion, Daein, Crimea). Daughters are Lambda (Adopted) and Reownha (blood). Occasionally stay in that one desert in Begnion for safety.
Raven: High-ranking knight of Crimea. Married to Gwyn. Managed to elude capture by the Daeins in the Mad King's War, fights alongside Lucia, Geoffrey, and Bastian.
Reownha: Black dragon branded like her father, Raithyon. Adores her slightly older adoptive sister Lambda.
Rhoam: Lion laguz of Gallia. Almost as old as Caineghis, but not related to the lion king. Might be termed a knight of Gallia, to translate to Beorc ideas.
Sandalio: Knight of Crimea, fights alongside Lucia, Geoffrey, and Bastian to free Crimea of Daein during the Mad King's War.
Shanz: Isekai sent to Crimea. Meets Greil during the Mad King's War. Turned into a red dragon laguz in the crossing of worlds.
Taunch: White dragon laguz. Leaves Goldoa during the war between the Laguz Alliance and Begnion, seeking to aid the Laguz Alliance after Deghinsea grudgingly allows them passage through Goldoa.
Vair: Red dragon laguz. Was part of the platoon sent to find Princess Almedha, eluded capture by the Daeins by pretending to be a Beorc for years. Was captured shortly before the Crimean army arrived in Daein Keep and was going to be sent to Crimea to be turned into a Feral One, but he was liberated just in time.
Wulf: White dragon laguz. Left Goldoa because he always follows his sister.

Personal History:
Sareni was born to Gateni Yaeldrin of the Hyrulean royal guard and Saryfel, a sky dragon with a lair somewhere between Gerudo and western Hyrule. Gateni and Saryfel agreed it was best if she stayed with Saryfel in his lair, that she would be safe from the enemies Gateni might have in greater Hyrule. However, in the name of safety, Saryfel rarely took Sareni out to socialize, and though Sareni has read a number of books thanks to growing up with her father’s hoard, she became quite sheltered, and remains so to this day, even a hundred years after the calamity.

Taunch Kimbatuul – Born to frost dragon father Madrash Kimbatuul and Hylian mother Caomh (needsmaidenname), the latter of whom died of illness despite Taunch's best efforts to find healthcare for her.
Vair Bhelthir – Born to Gildas Bhelthir and Lavena Glynn, who were both killed by a flame dragon that destroyed their holdings. Notably, Vair has a younger sister, Cara, who lives.
Wulf Arcuna – Born to Reim Arcuna and Gazenir (needslastname), as Lita's younger brother. Tragically, his parents and older brother died shortly after his birth.
Wynne Mulrennan – Born to Diarmuid Mulrennan and Riona (needsmaidenname). Has a younger full sister, Aine Mulrennan, and a number of bastard half-siblings, courtesy of Diarmuid's indiscretions.
