Tell me about Autumn? He looks very cute

Aaaahhh I'm so glad!! I've had a lot of fun figuring out his design! As for his character and story there's a lot but gosh where to start...

So uh, I guess to begin w 'Autumn' is the nickname for is me and my friend Arin's (@/scarin-aaarin) Link OC one of them anyways ajdjdk. We just started calling him that cause his color palette is made of warm oranges, yellows and reds (autumn colors!) He's from the downfall timeline and a descendant of the Hero of Legend (on his moms side.) He and his parents live in Kakariko village during an era of peace in Hyrule. Their relation to the previous hero is,, treated as a bit of a close held and dirty secret. Most information about the Hero of Legend has been lost to time, no one knows where he was buried, how he died or even his name. It's just been passed through the family for generations that,, well I guess that they want to distance themselves from the Hero's title or legacy.

Link himself was a pretty quiet and anxious kid. He was born with incredibly strong raw magical ability he has difficulty controlling. He doesn't know it but its from the remnants of fae blood that run through his mom's bloodline. It often manifests in sparks of lighting and becomes,, more uncontrollable when he's upset. Basically his energy, good or bad, has to escape somehow and most often that's through electricity although he might be capable of more than he thinks. When he was younger there were a couple accidents, and he's just,, very afraid to hurt anyone. Because of this he keeps to himself a lot, often spending days up in his room and rarely venturing into town or even outside his parents house. He's just pretty self-isolated and socially awkward.

One day though there's an unnatural storm brewing above the kindom, Link's magic is going haywire and he can almost hear the wind calling his name. When he sees a flash of a blue figure seeming to jump out his window, he makes a split second decision to follow and his adventure begins ^^

Um yee! Rest of the story includes minish, magic, dark reflections and a long lost relative being ripped from the grave to try to give this lad his best chance. He has to learn to accept his family's past and control his power if he wants any chance at destroying an ancient evil instead of himself. It's more than Link bargained for and he's trying to decide whether it's really worth it for him to stick with it to supposedly save a kingdom and world he's never truly known.

(And always gotta ask, if any of this sounds interesting Arins been considering writing out the whole fic. They have so many drabbles saved up (I've read them and there's a lot of really thoughtful and powerful themes of family, community, self reflection and discovery going on that often have me in tears) but like,, they're trying to gauge if there's any interest to share the full story. I can try my best to answer questions n stuff but like Arins the mastermind behind this, I'm just along for the ride w sketches and stuff yknow ajskd All this to say if anyone who's read this far wants to see Autumn's whole story than please go support Arin too on the first couple chapters of their fic, "Family Branches." They've put so much love and effort into building this character and world and like TvT)

1. Favorite piece of clothing you own?

Do I have to pick just one??? Gosh, I really don't know. I really like any and all of my pleated mini skirts even though I don't wear them that often. They're just so cute. I guess my favorite piece of clothing at the moment is this dark gray long-sleeve bodysuit that buttons up the front. It basically just looks like a gray long-sleeve t-shirt but I like that it's a bodysuit because it looks like my shirt is tucked into my jeans, and also the shirt doesn't ride up. Plus it's just very soft and cozy and it keeps me warm!!

2. Your comfort food?

Right now it's macaroni and cheese! Specifically the "Annie's" brand that is shaped like lil bunnies... I only eat fun-shaped pasta. Life is too short!!

3. Favorite time of the year?

SUMMER!

4. Favorite song?

One of my all-time favorite songs is Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve. I never get tired of this song. It hits right every single time. It means so, so much to me.

5. Do you collect anything?

Not really! I save all of my movie tickets, and when I travel to a new country, I like to buy a magnet for my fridge and a sticker for my suitcase, but that's really it.

6. Favorite drink?

Lemonade! Especially strawberry or blueberry lemonade. But right now I'm loving these energy drinks called "Alani". Oh MAN, so refreshing. So good. They don't have that typical energy drink taste, which I actually really like. I've only tried a few flavors so far, but they're soooo good, even though I try not to drink energy drinks too often.

7. Favorite fanfic (if you are comfortable)?

I honestly don't know what prompted me to check out this fic, because I'd never read the pairing before and it's not one that interests me in the slightest. I think, like many fics that I end up clicking on, I was amazed by the amount of kudos/comments it had garnered -- and let me tell you, every single one of them was WELL deserved.

The pairing in question is John Blake/Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, which, again, I'd never read before and I'm convinced I wouldn't like it if I had to read it from any other author but her, but I swear to you, it is genuinely one of the best fics I have ever read in my life. I cried like a baby. It's like the fics you used to read when you were a kid/teen and you were just discovering fanfiction for the first time. I swear I read all 80k pretty much in one sitting. I devoured this story. It is absolutely harrowing at parts, but so, so gripping. Even if you're reading this now and thinking you don't like M/M pairings, I swear to you... you won't want to skip this one. If you're unconvinced, go check out the review I left (but also, maybe, don't do it until after the fact, because spoilers).

Stiffen the Sinews (Summon Up the Blood) by Whisky.

Please note: there are virtually zero tags listed for this story, but it is brutal, so please mind the author's notes and know that it may contain potentially triggering elements or themes. With that being said, it is, oddly enough, the most uplifting Batman story I've ever read.

So yeah. That's my favorite fic at present!

My other favorite fic is Chrysalis, gifted to me by the incredible NiniJune. So much to say about this one. Literally one of the greatest characterizations of the Joker I've ever seen. It's harrowing and mesmerizing. I cannot get enough. She holds nothing back when it comes to the Joker's POV -- which is exactly how it should be done.

i like to see a lonnie with layers. she likes dressing girly, she's very caring and considerate, but she believes she should be able to do everything the boys can do. not that she wants to be an army general or anything, but she likes to prove that she can do things lmao

yesss i loved how they had her be curious and unafraid of the villain kids. and when she became their friend, she was loyal to them and didn't want her friends to be sent back to the isle.

oh good. after i sent that message, i was worried i was a little too harsh about mal/evie. i don't hate them. i've just gotten pretty tired of the ship and there's so many better evie ships out there imo lmao. yeah, i have gotten a little tired of that other ship too. i don't mind it as much if i see it in a fic, but i don't go out seeking fics where they are the focus.

ooh i hope you get the chance to sketch on christmas break! i don't really get a break for christmas, but i am taking a couple of days off work, which will be nice.

i just got the devastating news the jatp has officially been cancelled. so fandom's ideas for s2 are the only ideas we'll be getting. 😭 i'm definitely going to have to find a good s2 fic to heal my wounded heart. you have the best taste in jatp characters. those are my faves too. i go back and forth on luke because sometimes i just love his energy, other times i just don't care as much. and fandom has ruined reggie for me (and the most popular ship involving him). i'm just gonna stay in my corner enjoying willie/alex lmao

i can't believe we've just got one more week til christmas. i am totally not prepared lmao. what's your favorite christmas-themed tv episode or special (of a show that isn’t christmas-centric)?

oh yeah definitely like layers to characters. i just meant i didn't like the abrupt shit that d2 did for her, you know? i liked her just fine as is in d1, and i wouldn't have minded a legally blonde type of thing with the swords like a "what, like it's hard?" as she showed her skill, but for her to go full on she-warrior type of mode was a little disappointing

but still! i do like lonnie xD she will remain a fun character to play with, and she should probably be used more than she is [i say as if i read fic lmao]

oh no trust, you are completely safe with speaking "unpopular" opinions or whatever with me, mostly because i am the king of that apparently always lol a lot of people find it funny that i wrote and am still writing my trash fic the way i am because i am so very much indifferent to the two main "gay ships" of the fandom as well as carlos, the fandom darling, as a character. but like. it's fine, as i am capable of keeping characters in character lol

well, i say christmas break, but really i only have four days off, but! i will be teleworking from my aunt's house until the 7th, so i'm treating that as a whole break away from my home lol but i'm still hoping to maybe start sketching again

and you've just now given me the news that it's officially cancelled. i wish i could say i'm surprised, but i never trusted netflix after they cancelled dark crystal age of resistance. they simply just don't care how well a show does with either gaining fanbase or awards. so i knew what i was getting into the moment i decided to watch jatp

maybe another network will pick it up, maybe it's just over for good. either way, i still love what we got

and i know!! i still need to make cards lmao AND OH GOSH i think my favorite christmas themed episode has to be comfort and joy from justice league!! i love it sooo much especially j'onn and clark my boys!! got damn i am such a dc girl at heart, and everyone even dc themselves can pry the dcau from my cold dead fingers

oh, also, the episode from hey! arnold as well. i remember crying lmao
