I just rewached peaky blinders, and i think the idea of grace was a way to try to understand tommys mind, grace is described as the part of the world that relies on being "refined" and "stabel", one that tommy never got.

And the way that the realtionship ended just underlined that she was simply a to diferent and that she was tommys "fantasy" , more like a doll than a person who actually challenges and calls him out for some behaviours.

Honestly, i think that he is just a bad man, and this relationship is what he uses as a excuse to submite to his selfish needs

Overall, a very weird dynamic, but very good to the show

Yeah they had an odd dynamic.

Season 2 felt like he was just doing it to torture Campbell, s.3 felt like she was a trophy he displayed.

Yeah, Tommy is a terrible person ,but we are given hints as to why we should root for him and even when the writing fails, Cillian Murphy picks up the slack through his acting.

With Grace... its like SK didn't even know what to do with her. while the visual stuff was there to make you understand she is the love interest...she just feels like a placeholder for the real one and then we never get the Real Grace ©️.

We get cop!Grace, we get rich bitch!Grace, we get trophy wife!Grace and even Ghost!Grace, but never anything other than, her dad was Campbell's bff, she is classist, she is anti-irish despite being Irish herself and totally fine with trampling others to get to her goal no matter how awful that goal is.

And unfortunately, her actress is either terrible at playing anything other than this:

or far too subtle in her acting to make up for the lousy writing she suffers worst of all in the series
