#I have a lovely 20 gallon tank in my room #it has kuhli loaches and shrimp and otocinclus #a clown poach I never see named Marvin #and two peacock gudgeons #one of which I got recently #one that I should have quarantined but didn’t because I’m lazy and didn’t think I’d need to #because I’ve never had issues with not quarantining fish before #but I got this fish from work and we’ve been dealing with ich #and I realized the day after I got her that the tank she came from had mollys that were infected 🙃 #a couple days later she has it too #for those that don’t know #ich is a VERY contagious parasite in fish #and it will eventually kill your fish if left untreated #I’ve never dealt with it before so I’m stressed tf out and just spent almost the last of my money for a top recommended medication #to tray and treat it #I could have gotten a cheaper brand but #I don’t want to risk killing any of my more sensitive fish and my shrimp because I will cry if that happens #I could treat it by turning up the temperature in my tank to like 86 degrees f #but that could ALSO potentially kill my fish/shrimp #so expensive medication was the best option #I’ve been thinking about just taking this tank down tbh #I feel like there’s always something going wrong with it from this to filters breaking to a snail infestation #but I’m not giving up yet #unless something dies #then I’ll be giving up on it 🥲 #tag rant #personal #fish keeping #I meant clown loach* not poach
