Ok so the saga with my old PC continues and is only fueling my desire to get back into fanfiction lol because I found all of the files from my attempt at making a legend of spyro fan-game! I honestly thought they were lost, I'm so excited to see all this stuff again! This was the "logo" for the game (I know its nearly unreadable lol, so it says "The Legend of Cynder, Shadows of The Past". 14/15 year old me didn't seem to care much for readability, I think I'd just discovered photoshop's layer effects lol)

Here's a bunch of random stuff I found.

I'm defiantly going to do a redraw of that last one at some point. That was like, THE thing I remember being super proud of when I first did it. I think it was going to be part of the trailer my now-partner was putting together for the game lol.

Actually, a lot of these were actually just frames from animations, but either the files are either just corrupted, or high school me didn't know how to set fps and resolution properly in the output so I got a headache trying to watch them lol. It's probably the second one honestly. Also I remember my old laptop wasn't able to play back the animation because it would lag so much, so I just had to kind of...guess at timing, and that went about as well as you'd expect. It didn't help that blender used to have this bug where your audio would move around your timeline so it really was just random guessing. I'm amazed anything got done at all, let alone how far we actually got (that is to say, not far at all but we had something playable at least).

I also found the demo files and footage of the "game" running (running at 12fps but running)! I'm curious if they still work, I'll have to download an older version of blender to test them out!

There's actually a lot more but actually finding it is proving to be quite a challenge since this laptop seems to be the digital equivalent of an ADHD "doom box" - meaning nothing is sorted into folders that make even a remote lick of sense to me, it's all just kind of thrown in together lmao.

I wanted to post these though because even though I don't really do 3D stuff anymore, It still made me really happy to see how much progress I've made over the years and how far I've come. Also a few folks who worked on this project with me back on Deviantart have started finding me lol, so in case there's anyone else out there, hello! I'm not dead, I'm still around, I'm just a lot more (openly) queer now lmao.

Some more weird dreams yay

The night of Nov. 23rd, I dreamed I was at a comic convention cosplaying Hinata and I was super self conscious. There was some sort of cosplay parade thing outside with like motorcades and everything and this group of Naruto cosplayers came up to me and basically pulled me into their group, like their Sakura came bounding up to hug me from behind, and had me join them in the parade. I remember being super self conscious and panicking about forgetting whether I had put my byakugan contacts in or not, and I have a distinct memory of walking with everyone and watching my shadow against the street. And then I got to sit in one of the motorcades with the Naruto cosplayer who just readily accepted me into their little cosplay family and was even holding my hand and honestly??? So many warm and fuzzy feelings at just the mere thought of being accepted like that into an anime cosplay community.

That same night, there was also vignettes of dreams about the little TV area in the Grand Floridian at Disney World where kids can sit on tiny couches and watch old Disney cartoons, and something related to building in TS4?

The night of Nov. 24th, I had honestly the weirdest, most vivid dream. I was at what was intended to be my grandmother’s house, though it only vaguely looked like her shore house from when I was super young. In the dream, she had recently died (which in retrospect makes me super duper uncomfortable to think about) and so I was wandering around her house and the entire place was just so fucking weird. There was an absolutely empty bathroom (empty in the sense of only the bare essentials, you know, like a toilet and a shower tub and a sink and large mirror--it was basically her current bathroom but totally stripped down) with super sparkly white stucco walls that shimmered like that one filter people use on videos of fancy princess dresses, like it was completely unavoidable in pictures especially. There was another room full of 1980′s women’s clothing like a department store with vintage wallpaper that had drawings of women like on old sewing patterns (and this was the room that came to me most vividly and the image I really can’t shake for some reason). There was a room full of men’s underwear displays. There was a super messy kitchen that looked almost exactly like the shore house, and there was clutter everywhere, the most vivid of which was a box of crackers on the floor by the brand name “fin” written in super skinny white sans serif font on a square background divided into four quadrants in red, blue, green, etc. that I swear is a real logo design for something but I can’t for the life of me figure it out, like a part of me is almost convinced it is, in fact, the real logo design for a cracker company but I haven’t had the chance to actually Google it yet but fuck, I’m definitely going to because this is bothering me). There was also a messy bedroom in a kind of Key West style (maybe inspired by the interior design of The Golden Girls? Though I know that was obviously Miami, but I can’t remember right off the bat exactly what this room in my dream looked like now in retrospect), with tons of renditions of the Heart of the Ocean from Titanic laying around in various places--I pocketed two of them. And at this point it wasn’t even really my grandmother’s house anymore but someone else like Hemingway or some shit though it didn’t actually look like any houses I’ve seen in real life. Just overall super strange and kind of antiquated in a way? In terms of like very 1980′s, I guess, I don’t know.

Then the night of Nov. 25th, I had two dream vignettes. The one was that I was in Photoshop editing Halle Bailey as the animated Ariel (like redrawing the original animated Ariel into Halle Bailey, which I lowkey wanna do now). The second one was just about a dessert. It was this chocolate dessert that had this surprise chocolate covered strawberry at the very bottom, and I just remember sitting there staring at this little creme brulee bowl or some shit in first person with a fork in my hand finding this chocolate covered strawberry after having eaten all the gooey chocolatey stuff that was on top of it.
