im turning this into a meme when i was in the middle doing another music meme so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

meme: pick 5 songs that you would love to turn into an amv for a ship of your choice, including at least 1 song lyric and a 1 sentence explanation for why that song would fit them

these would be for the ship akechi goro/kurusu akira from persona 5 & may also have some slight persona 5 royal spoilers below

i) Killer - Valerie Broussard (’looking sweet, but boy i know you sneaky’) the song’s fun and has a bit of a kick, good for the rivals mood with flirty ominous banter over chessboards and billiards and coffee counters! also great for dramatic red/black transition scenes and dramatic masks/silhouette scenes.

ii) Bloodsport - Sneaker Pimps (’my mother, my mother, my mother never told me’ / ‘love is just a bloodsport’) an old classic, but likely fitting for an amv primarily in akechi’s pov, and the techno-ish beat is great for battle attacks/that moment when their eyes meet; a funnier thing too would be to add a sorta ironic slant to the amv by playing it as akechi going ‘i don’t care about akira kurusu at all’ followed by a montage of scenes of them sitting closer together & smiling at each other in all their hangout places, against the chorus of ‘love is just a bloodsport’

iii) The Crow - Dessa ( ‘Crow took me by the shoulder’ / ‘and he told me honey, don't let go’) (’Death and romance, the riddles of our lifetimes’ / ‘Tryna get a slow dance, middle of a knife fight’) (’i can’t ask you to show love’ / ‘but would it kill you if you did?’) i screamed when i saw the title of the song and then there was more Yelling once i saw the lyrics!! (excuse me, the slow dance/knife fight contrast!!!!!). this song might be akechi-centric, but also works extremely well for an amv from akira’s pov with Extra Pining. there’s a lot of high heights/falling imagery too, which is excellent for joker’s phantom thief moves, as well as slow scenes where akira stares meaningfully at akechi but doesn’t say what he wants to say to just really heavily imply that falling in love connotation.

iv) This Game - Bitter:Sweet (’never want this game we play to be over’ / ‘never want anyone to say this is over’)

melancholy jazz mood?? yes. this amv would just be like, 3+ minutes montage of the two of them sitting at a jazz club and at leblanc tbh, perhaps in the nightime when akechi’s glances linger a little too long after akira laughs at a joke that akechi made. sprinkle in some detective/thief film noir montage effects on top for more sad ust.

v) Cut - Tender have you seen these lyrics????? (’when I turn to walk away’ / ‘you stab me in the back’) ( ‘you can cut me deep, but’ / ‘hold me as I slip through the cracks’)

this song would be an amv for that One Night in February, if akira had done a wrist-grabbing scene when akechi was trying to leave leblanc after arguing about how goro’s life wasn’t a small thing to him; then it would possibly just develop into a makeout song based on the general vibe (i mean there is another innuendo about death bUt anyways); the two lyrics would fit both goro & akira’s perspectives, in a painful parallel of how akechi did try attempting an assassination on akira, while akira now is showing hesitation and trying to keep akechi with him while akechi hissed to his face ‘your indecisiveness is essentially a betrayal’ [of our promise] etc etc
