can you fucking imagine being jake pinkman and you live in a pretty nice house with your parents who give you lots of love and attention and always make sure you’re practicing your instrument and doing your homework and hanging out with the right kids. you feel like maybe they don’t know exactly who you are as a person, but they give you attention and come to every tournament and concert and that has to count for something. you have memories of your older brother playing peekaboo with you on long car rides and letting you ride his two-wheeler even though your parents said you were too young for a two-wheeler. your parents sometimes act like these things didn’t happen, but you remember them and that has to count for something. you don’t see your older brother a lot and you hear your parents whispering about him when they think you’ve gone to bed, furiously arguing about things you aren’t familiar with and have to casually ask your friends about at school the next day. and then one day you see a news story. you see photos of a cage, of a grate and a bucket and a leash. your mom tries to rush you out of the room and your dad is scrambling for the remote control, but you see his picture anyway. a mugshot. if you google your last name + albuquerque, that mugshot is one of the first results, but you don’t see him in that flat, poorly-lit photo. you see his eyes (like mom’s) between his fingers. you see him pulling his sleeve down over a new forbidden tattoo and shushing you with a wink. “is he dead?” you ask because they keep showing that chain, that leash, and it’s so much thicker than the one on their old family dog and you’d rather he be dead than chained up like that. “no” your mom finally says, and it’ll be a few months before any one of you can say his name again but you never picture him in the cage—only popping wheelies on a two-wheeler and cutting the crusts off of sandwiches. and that has to count for something.

BEFORE INTERACTION

this blog is set after the last episode of breaking bad, Felina. jesse is extremely neurodivergent. he suffers from ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, major depression, body dysmorphic disorder, and psychosis. he also suffers from physical disabilities such as chronic pain, frequent headaches, insomnia and post-traumatic arthritis. his face and body are badly scarred. my main verse takes place five years after felina, so that he’s had time to develop coping mechanisms and plant his roots in alaska. jake is a pseudonym that helps jesse cope with his severe self-hatred and survivor’s guilt. he is healing. he wants to help other people heal, too. some days for him are better than others, but he’s made immense progress. neither i nor jesse will allow anyone to destroy this progress. if your muse tries, they will be met with fury (and that always makes for a super interesting plot, so fuck me up with that). just a psa.

HEADCANON BASED.

i’ve created a post-felina jesse pinkman based on many, many of my own headcanons as well as ideas from several fanfictions. namely 187, Water on Mars, and Heliotropes. many of these headcanons involve extremely triggering material, which i always tag as “trigger tw.” more information on triggers below. i also have a canon-compliant jesse pinkman over at methdrip. he’s pretty cool, too.

SELECTIVITY

i always – ALWAYS – read rules/character info pages if they are available. if i am not interested for any reason, i will not interact with you. pretty simple. i am extremely selective with ongoing threads. i do not always have muse for every single thread that i do, and i will often only reply to one or two threads at a time. if this happens, i promise i am not ignoring you. don’t trip. i’ll get around to yours eventually. now, i’m only gonna say this once, so listen very closely: DO NOT PESTER ME FOR REPLIES. please. i am made of stress and anxiety and i will straight up block you if you do this. reminding me once or twice is totally fine. just please be as courteous and patient with me as you can, because i am overwhelmed very easily and this is not my occupation.

HEAVY TRIGGERS

jesse is a trauma and abuse survivor. his trauma is a main aspect of his personality and will be present in nearly every single thread i write here. themes like torture, self harm, abuse, violent and nonviolent psychosis, depression, suicide, and drug use will be written about in-depth and heavily explored. i tag triggers accordingly with “trigger tw” but i would not recommend following me if you’re bothered by one of the aforementioned subjects.

SEXUAL CONTENT

there will not be a whole lot of sexual content on this blog. jesse has an extremely low sex drive as a result of being held captive and tortured for 187 days. his body is badly mutilated and he is not comfortable showing it to others without being extremely comfortable with them. jesse is still sexually active, just much, much less than he used to be, and only with people that he trusts immensely.

Something about the 15th anniversary got me thinking about Jake Pinkman and it drove me to write a 1000+ words speculation turned low key fan fiction🙃 he was in one episode and yet…the thought of his lack of closure with his brother is enough to get the little hamster in my brain running on a wheel 100mph
