I cannot stress enough how 'Do something stupid' was originally a Taskmaster NZ task, how during the filming of it one contestant (Urzila Carlson) broke a bone, and how that was not even the reason the task never made it to air - it wasn't shown because another contestant, Guy Montgomery, fulfilled the task by putting his dick in a toaster

tagged by @leupagus to share some music i’ve been listening to. most of the time with my fixations, there’s one song that i’ll listen to for a few weeks. And then, much like a high schooler with a single cd player, I will make an eclectic playlist of my fixations so they’re all in one place
-Euroleague by Paul Williams (also known for being a comedian and the New Zealand Taskmaster’s Assistant), It’s just on repeat a lot cause Ritika cursed me with this song. It’s a short song which means I hear it a lot
-Home to Me (Live) by Devil and the Deep Blue Sea which is a duo made up of Lizzie No and Patrick Kennedy. Truthfully, I don’t know who the man is but Lizzie No is a great country musician and this is one my favorite earlier songs of hers. There’s a line in it that’s “How dare you love me like you’ve never known fear?” which is, frankly, a lot
-Impossible Dream from the Man of La Mancha. I was rewatching the 2020 (2021?) Tony Award performances and Brian Stokes Mitchell performed this song but I only have the Richard Kiley version. It’s a very fun song to sing especially when you work in a lab by yourself. I joked to the archivist that if you can’t handle me at my worst [singing Man of La Mancha over & over again], you don’t deserve me at my best [which is also singing Man of La Mancha over & over again]
Honorable mention to the tick, tick...BOOM! album from netflix, a production I didn’t expect to like as much as I did and the theme song to Bluey which is a childrens tv show my nephews won’t stop watching but the theme is so fucking catchy

I think Sue and Susan win 'Taskmaster team-up most likely to have gotten married in-between task and studio recording', they are honestly probably the team that has gotten along best in the history of the show

I do respect Kiell for being the first contestant in 15 series to just point-blank refuse to eat any of the disgusting Taskmaster food abominations

honestly the group vibes between the casts of series 15 and 16 could quite literally not be more different

I don't fault the UK version for taking on tasks from the Kiwi version, because they are currently the best TM spin-off at coming up with tasks, but most of the ones they've adapted make me go rewatch the NZ tasks, because usually those versions fully broke one of the contestants

BIG fan of the range Ivo has displayed in a single episode - Joe Thomas level thinking in the price task? sucking up to Greg? cuddling Jenny? role-playing the Ever Given? the curse of politeness? backstabbing Kiell first opportunity he got? incredible work
