If I LOVE YOU was a name
Tumblr media
Remember the I love you coffin and Mycroft saying it wasn’t a name.
What if it was parts of a name?
There is a name containing the I love you letters in the Mofftiss-verse:
Tumblr media
Captain Sokolov Yuri.
I, Sokolov Yuri.
For this captain (unnamed in Stoker’s Dracula iirc), this ghost driver (found dead with his arms tied to the wheel) they came up with a name that says I love you.
Will this come up in S5 ?

The case of A.G.RA & the black pearl
What are the A.G.RA “memory sticks” really?
We only ever see 2 of them, they are rectangular, steel gray, with information about a person written on it, they are identical except one of them has a ball chain, the person on a mission is not supposed to take it off. Despite what we are told and shown, these aren’t memory sticks, they have to be identification tags, dog tags. Rectangular so not British, more likely American (but not necessarily, most countries have rectangular ones).
Only Ajay is seen wearing it around his neck, in “Tbilisi” (or ever).
Mary looks at these two guys, one looking conveniently very much like Ajay, the other more or less her height, and decides: “we die”, which probably means exchanging their IDs with these people, or only one of them, since Ajay and Mary seem to be using only one set of tags.
Tumblr media
Ajay has the one with the chain, the one that remains with the soldier’s body for identification.
“I got out for a while. Long enough to hide my memory stick.”
Ajay never speaks of a plaster bust, only Sherlock does. He might have placed it on someone else, dead or alive.
Tumblr media
Mary, apparently, kept the one that gets collected from the soldier’s body for notification, the one with a smaller or no chain.
If she and Ajay are actually family, she didn’t even have to be inside the embassy, she could have recoverd it later.
Tumblr media
When he finds the rectangular AGRA, Sherlock is surprised, as he expected it to be circular: “expected a pearl”, ie a British identification tag.
It means that the black pearl of the Borgias could be code for a British ID disk.
On the plane, despite her American accent, Mary’s wearing a big disk, meaning a British ID disk and asking her neighbour about “the sun”, code for another ID disk: “Did somebody hide the sun? Did you lose it in the war?”
We can only see one, is the other missing or hidden because they don’t match?
Tumblr media
After the landing though, her substitute has the complete set of ID disks
Tumblr media
Thoughts:
I don’t know why the A.G.RA tags don’t have a full name on them. Maybe only the capital letters are legible for some reason, maybe in some special units the tags only indicate the initials.
A.G. can be short for Gabriel Ashdown or Garrideb Alex, both non gendered names.
Mary’s AGRA tag couldn’t be destroyed in the fire in His Last Vow, a very high temperature would be required.
Sherlock is working on the impossible case of a person being in two places at the same time. This is an example of how Sherlock makes his deductions by creating a whole story to go through a chain of events, making it complicated to explain his theories before the conclusion of a case.
Series 5  will present a realistic version of these events.

why so many churches?
Since TAB there have been many scenes involving a church and a woman.
TAB: Mary finds an army of women holding meetings in the crypt of a desanctified church
Tumblr media
TST: John is given E’s phone number near a church
Tumblr media
We learn Rosamund Mary’s name in a church and one of AJay’s names in another.
Tumblr media
TST: Ella’s office is now in a desanctified church
Tumblr media
TLD: Sherlock and Fake Faith spent part of their one night together outside a church
Tumblr media
Mary, Ella, Eurus. Are they members of the same sisterhood?
Eurus might be a different kind of sister.
Is this about MI6, also called SIS,  or another kind of secret society (like the Avenging Angels from STUD iirc)? Sherlock has been after a cult since TBB (“Not just a criminal organisation; it’s a cult”). Could be both: a secret society inside SIS?

The mirrored kneeling archer
The archers from the Chinese Terracotta Army kneel with right leg and squat with left leg. Oddly, the one on the mantelpiece of 221B is reversed, kneeling on his left leg.
Could it be a sign of early extended mind palace?
Tumblr media
Kneeling archer from a museum:
Tumblr media
The escape room recently posted a picture of their kneeling archer and he is like the real ones, not like the one on the show.
Tumblr media
Bonus: John doing the kneeling archer pose in ASIP, kneeling on the same knee as the one on their mantelpiece.

The ghost in the therapist’s office
There always seems to be a third presence beside the therapist and her patient. It takes the form of a dancer’s bust,
Tumblr media
a hallucination in a mirror (this one is a bit different as it’s not the therapist’s office, but Henry saw something/someone in the mirror),
Tumblr media
 a ghost against the wall.
Tumblr media
We are meant to believe it represents the person on the patient’s mind. Seeing Mycroft’s notebook in ASIP, the incomplete walls in TST, Eurus’ sessions recorded in TFP, I think there’s actually someone watching and listening on the other side (as in an interrogation room or a proctor station in a medical school), and I think John is aware of it in TLD.
Tumblr media
She notices and that might have endangered him.

Is Dracula about Sherlock?
The wheel turns, nothing is new.
The names and places were changed, but what happens in Dracula has already happened in Sherlock.
-Jon and El.
Jonathan is sent to a fortress (the tower?) on business, reads an SOS written upside down by a woman named Elena. She seems to belong to an international organisation (the friends, the circle?) but is unhappy about what she gains from it.
John reads Ella’s writing upside down.
One has to wonder what other businesses there are in Ella’s building (embassy/international organisation/medical research facility?); if her office is a façade; if is she in danger or dangerous and who sent John there.
-The fall.
Jonathan falls from a roof terrace. We are given another solution to the fall: a fishnet under the water, and Johnny is both dead and not dead.
We don’t know if the guy who reappears in the fishnet is the same who fell, seeing as he has no memories of the fall or things from before (such as his fiancée’s face).
The villain on the rooftop is in pain but doesn’t die. What does it tell us about Moriarty?
-hostage situation: St Mary’s convent // the Tbilisi embassy
Saint Mary’s convent, Budapest: St Georges crosses, wolves, a workshop, a cross and chain half hidden in a book. The convent is under attack. Mother Superior is killed, everyone dies but 2. Mina is able to leave, Agatha is kept prisoner, maybe because she offers information (”take me and learn something”).
The safest place is Agatha’s workshop. Only safe for a while, long enough for Agatha to hide something in there, apparently a cross and chain (who she works for), in a book.
Tumblr media
The Tbilisi embassy: St Georges crosses, lions, a workshop, a medal and chain half hidden in a bust.
A hostage situation goes awfully wrong, Madam Ambassador is killed, only 2 survivors: one escapes, the other is kept prisoner, after hiding a chain and memory stick (who he is, who he works for) in a workshop.

Blood Vessel: the Demeter = the Gloria Scott?
Welcome aboard the Demeter. Or is it the Gloria Scott?
BBC Dracula Episode 2 Blood Vessel is based on Judge Trevor’s confession in the Gloria Scott at least as much as the Captain’s log found on the Demeter.
Quick comparison:
Bram Stoker’s Demeter:
-people on board: “Crew, five hands . . . two mates, cook, and myself (captain)”
-cargo: “ silver sand and boxes of earth”
-fate: reached England with a ghost driver (dead captain with his hands tied to the wheel) and  a mysterious dog
The Gloria Scott:
-people on board: “besides her thirty-eight jail-birds, she carried twenty-six of a crew, eighteen soldiers, a captain, three mates, a doctor, a chaplain, and four warders”
-cargo: 100 powder-barrels
-fate: foundered, blown up by the first mate; 10 survivors, 3 known by name
BBC Demeter:
-people on board: captain, at least two mates (Valentin and an unseen romanian second mate), cook, deckhand, other crew members, 7 passengers
-cargo: salpeter, children’s dolls, sulfur, 50 boxes of soil, charcoal
-fate: foundered, blown up by the Captain; 3 survivors, apparently
The prisoners on the Gloria Scott took over the ship.
Then arose a dispute over what to do with the five loyal crewmen still left alive. Armitage (Trevor) and others would not stand for coldblooded murder.
Tumblr media
They asked to  take a small boat and go.”
Tumblr media
Shortly after leaving in their small boat, the Gloria Scott was blown up, probably by the first mate who had found refuge beside an open powder-barrel.
Tumblr media
The men in the small boat hurried back to the site and rescued one survivor.
They were later picked up by another ship and changed their names.

It might be fake, but it’s also real.
As much as I agree with the coma/trance/extended mind palace theory, it’s not the kind of coma with the character’s awakening erasing what came before, not even series 4, but the awakening can shed a different light on past events.
It can’t be a passive coma, Sherlock is working, he won’t wake up empty-handed, he’ll wake up with a series of deductions, a plan based on these past cases he’s studying. Even if some (all?) episodes are fake, it doesn’t mean they are useless, there’s truth in them. Some events, aspects of reality are transformed, either because “the average human memory on visual matters is only sixty-two percent accurate”, so even Sherlock’s is not 100 per cent, or because it’s just how he manages his mind palace.
We can guess what elements might remain, the recurring ones:
it’s always cold, so he’s probably in a cold place (or in shock?), probably in a rounded room (control tower?),
There’s a gunshot, murder by remote control,
there’s humming, flowing water (a drowning or an IV drip?)
there’s a secret message hidden in plain sight (involving dots),
a chip (microchip, not fries),
twin objects or a good copy (of a phone, a murder weapon, of Sherlock?),
a phone someone can’t use because they haven’t figured out the code yet.
There’s CPR.
Someone was misgendered or is genderfluid or trans.
A video saves them.
Even if Eurus doesn’t stay as such, some elements she brought will remain: the contact lens, the list of names, the phone number.

The lens hiding in plain sight.
Whenever Sherlock loses consciousness, there’s a round object nearby.
ASIB: the round pattern on the ceiling. (Also, while collapsing on the bed he tries to speak: is it “I...I” or “eye...eye”?)
Tumblr media
TSOT: a clear glass plate
Tumblr media
HLV: he imagines a cell shaped like an eye, +  Magnussen’s glasses fall on the floor.
Tumblr media
TAB: a small basket next to Sherlock (and on the table, a transparent lens of the same size)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TLD: the round transparent object (the same as in TSOT) sits before the iris-shaped wallpaper.
Tumblr media
TFP: Redbeard’s bowl under the table on which he wakes up.
Tumblr media
It’s an enlarged contact lens.
Whose contact lens is it really? Where and when did Sherlock notice it?
Is it on Sherlock? Is it part of a disguise? Is it poisoned?
In TAB (the position of the basket + the transition from 1895 to the present) it seems to be on Sherlock’s eye.
Tumblr media
In TFP he seems to find it on the floor.
Is it about a suspect hiding their real eye colour? to hide a genetic connection with another character? (It’s sort of what therapist Eurus did).
I wonder about Molly’s badge for Barts: she wears glasses on the picture, yet we never saw her with glasses. Does she wear contact lenses? Has she had laser surgery?
Is it the portable Appledore? If it wasn’t in the glasses, it could still be a lens. I don’t believe in Magnussen’s mind palace. Retinal implants exist, yet they are not totally invisible and I don’t think they can record images. Still, I wonder if the blind woman in TGG had one.
Anyway it’s everywhere, it must be a major clue in his investigation.

Are you attempting to make a point?
Throughout the show, points appear at key moments or when a major breakthrough is made. They are also very noticeable in the dialogues, present in major scenes: swimming pool, rooftop, Magnussen’s pressure points.
When it’s pointless, nothing happens:
Tumblr media
Then Sherlock happens, making yellow points on the wall.
Tumblr media
TGG. The font of the Hickman gallery logo has dots on certain letters (M, C) and Ms Wenceslas’s necklace is just a giant dot. Bright dots on a painting saved a child.
Tumblr media
“I knew you would get there eventually.”
“His body would have gone on for ages if the train hadn’t met a stretch of track that curved.”
“And points.”
Without the points, the body might not have been found, at least not so fast. Sherlock looks quite pleased with John getting there.
Tumblr media
THOB. Without the dots the word was useless.
Tumblr media
HLV. The appearance of A.G.RA. The only important letters and real initials are probably the only ones followed by a dot: A.G. (as in Ashdown Gabrielle? Alex Garrideb?)
Tumblr media
The word is said multiple times in every episode.
ASIP:
“Impossible suicides? Four of them? There’s no point sitting at home when there’s finally something fun going on!”
“What am I doing here? -Helping me make a point.”
“ Any point in asking where I’m going?”
“Just passing the time. And proving a point.” “What point?”
“What’s the point of being clever if you can’t prove it?”
TFP
JOHN: But that is sort of the point... Isn’t it?
EURUS : If they’re not always the same thing, what’s the point in beauty?
MYCROFT: That is entirely beside the point! You had your orders and failed to act on them.
MYCROFT : Is this an occasion for banter? SHERLOCK : Mm, case in point.
MR HOLMES: When can we see her? MYCROFT: There’s no point.
More about points in part 2 about TLD: the whole point of Faith.

Cherchez le chien
Here’s how Redbeard can be a dog and a person, why pets matter to Sherlock; why finding Redbeard in his mind palace comforts him; why Faith finds the chips amazing; why Sherlock has to know if a woman leaves London without putting her dog into kennels (TEH); why people are regularly equated with pets, especially John.
Sherlock uses gps chips usually used on pets to find people.
That’s how he found John in TEH.
John’s chip beeps. It’s linked to Zoe, the little girl in red and a dog/child. Zoe’s location is written on her hat: Pl. for Place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is an intermediary and it’s coded. Maybe it’s part of Mycroft’s surveillance grade 3, and Sherlock merely hacked into it with the help of Craig the hacker.
When “Mary” and “Rosie” come out of Craig’s house, Rosie’s clothes have animal attributes: ears and paws. I suspect she just acquired a microchip.
Redbeard is the most important one. It will allow John or Sherlock to find one another.
But we can deduce from the Eurus-Moriarty meeting in TFP that there's more than one Redbeard.
They can’t afford to pick the wrong one.
They’ll get the right one by checking the dog owners medical files: if there’s a history of dog allergy, you can deduce that the chip is currently not on a pet but on a human being.

The Great Game vs Cinderella
The Great Game shares some similarities with Grimm’s tale number 21, Cinderella.
Distinctive shoes have lost their owner.
There are princes: Kenny and Connie Prince.
Birds that grant wishes: Connie Prince, makeover queen, is a fairy godmother who “ takes girls who looked like the back end of Routemasters and turns them into princesses”. Janus Cars transforms people too.
Sibling rivalry: Kenny and Connie, Sherlock and Mycroft, Cinderella and the stepmother’s daughters.
The pink phone’s puzzles are like Cinderella’s tasks.
Cinderella: the step-mother said, "I have strewed a dish-full of lentils in the ashes, and if you can pick them all up again in two hours you may go with us”.
Tumblr media
Cinderella: A splendid dress, slippers made of gold.
Sherlock:
Tumblr media
At midnight Jim from IT turns back into Moriarty.
A blind woman in Sherlock/the two sisters get their eyes picked out at the end of Grimm’s Cinderella.
Cinderella knows ash.
Cinderella is about people not being what they seem; having two identities; looking for someone special, based on one clue.
Are we after the third ball yet? We still don’t know who Moriarty really is, or who his fairy godmother is.
And why are the special shoes shown covering John’s feet ?

If Mary was real...
If Mary was real...
In TST, since AJ is supposed to be after Mary, the laser point would be on her head, not John’s.
Tumblr media
Sherlock would have texted her an address, not this sentence he said to himself in TGG.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In His Last Vow, when they come back from Leinster Gardens, she wouldn’t just stand there, oddly silent, all the information we get coming from Sherlock’s mouth. She would have at least had a small reaction when John kicked a table, maybe not like Mrs Hudson, but even Sherlock jumped a little. She didn’t blink!
Tumblr media
In TST she wouldn’t copy Sherlock’s near death from HLV.
In TLD she wouldn’t imitate Sherlock’s deductions.
“There are no ghosts in this world...save those we make for ourselves”, Sherlock says in TAB. Mary has to be one of those ghosts he created for some purpose. Is she the alias he created for himself to come back after the fall ? Or was it John? In HLV they say it’s his fault.

Real, not real, really in figures.
The word real is used 26 times by a character to question or deny the reality of what or who is before them.
JOHN: Is that your real name?
JOHN: In real life. There are no arch-enemies in real life. Doesn’t happen.
SHERLOCK: What do real people have, then, in their ‘real lives’.
SHERLOCK: I know a real gun when I see one.
BERWICK: She was always gettin’ at me, sayin’ I weren’t a real man. SHERLOCK: Wasn’t a real man.
MISS WENCESLAS: Well, there was never any real contact; just messages … whispers.
Guy with a funeral urn: She’s not my real aunt. She’s been replaced – I know she has. I know human ash. ASIB
IRENE: Everything I said: it’s not real. I was just playing the game.
JOHN: Oh, his mind palace. It’s a memory technique – a sort of mental map. You plot a map with a location – it doesn’t have to be a real place – and then you deposit memories there.
MORIARTY: Did you almost start to wonder if I was real? Did I nearly get you?
MYCROFT: If you seem slow to me, Sherlock, can you imagine what real people are like? I’m living in a world of goldfish.
SHERLOCK: Well, you’re hardly gonna need me around now that you’ve got a real baby on the way.
MAGNUSSEN: If it works here …I’ll try it in a real country.
MAGNUSSEN: They’re not real. They never have been.
SHERLOCK: Unlike the nicely embellished fictions on your blog, John, real life is rarely so neat.
MORIARTY: It’s not real.
MORIARTY: Is this silly enough for you yet? Gothic enough? Mad enough, even for you? It doesn’t make sense, Sherlock, because it’s not real. None of it.
MARY: Please, for your own sake and for Rosie’s. This isn’t real. I’m dead.
SMITH: I think you need to, er, tell your faithful little friend how you’re wasting his time because you’re too high to know what’s real any more.
SHERLOCK: Still a bit troubled by the daughter. Did seem very real, and she gave me information I couldn’t have acquired elsewhere.
MYCROFT: They weren’t real. The dates were all wrong.
SHERLOCK: Walls don’t contract after you’ve painted them. Not real ones.
SHERLOCK: I think it’s time you told me your real name.
Real is used 15 times in affirmative sentences or to question something’s unreality.
MRS HUDSON: It was a real shame. I liked her. She taught you how to do your colours.
SHERLOCK: Jewish folk story. A gigantic man made of clay. It’s also the name of an assassin – real name Oskar Dzundza – one of the deadliest assassins in the world.
PRESENTER: Dartmoor. It’s always been a place of myth and legend, but is there something else lurking out here – something very real? (…) But the real question is: are all of them still inside?
JOHN: No, I know you’re for real.
MR SZIKORA’s magazine cover: British Birds. We’re a real handful
HOLMES: Meanwhile the real Mrs Ricoletti slips away.
HOLMES: All that remained was to substitute the real Mrs Ricoletti for the corpse in the morgue.
JOHN: Moriarty’s back. We have a case! We have a real-life problem right now.
SHERLOCK: No need for that now. Got the real thing. I have work to do.
SHERLOCK: Her real name is Greta Bengtsdotter.
JOHN: So this is real? You’ve really lost it. You’re actually out of control.
JOHN: Yeah, well, they’re real enough, I suppose.
SHERLOCK: She was real.
JOHN: You’ll find the real Landers on the north shore, tied up with two others.
There’s an increased use of really in the latest episodes.
Really is said 22 times in TSOT, 23 times in T6T, 18 times in TLD, 23 times in TFP.
The first and last occurrences of the word real are about a name:
JOHN to Anthea in ASIP: Is that your real name?
SHERLOCK to Eurus in TFP: I think it’s time you told me your real name.

“You got that from a book.”
There’s evidence of a message hidden in a book, in TLD and before.
Which book or books could carry secret messages?
There are close-ups of several books throughout the show.
The A to Z of course.
Grimm’s Fairy Tales.
Tumblr media
Unforgettable.
Tumblr media
Mummy’s book:
Tumblr media
Some  come in pairs: In TBB the red book borrowed by the journalist (Politics of Modern South Asia) has several volumes, at the library Sherlock opened another one, we still don’t know if he found anything of interest in it.
The Power to change ( advertised in HLV)  had a part 1 How to help yourself. Eurus might have read this one: “Helping someone is the best way you can help yourself.” (TFP)
Tumblr media
Culverton Smith wrote two similar books, mirrored by the two Faiths: a blue one called How to make a killing and a red one called Business Killer. The secret message would be in the latter: red and with a name in one word -Business is what he wants to kill.
Tumblr media
Other possible books:
Edgar Poe’s Purloined Letter? (as there’s a portrait of E. A. Poe in Sherlock bedroom)
A comic book about Sherlock’s adventures? (by John and the Geek Interpreter)
A book we haven’t seen yet? Does John own the James Bond collection?
Tales of Pirates and Blue Water (12 short stories by AC Doyle)?
The cursed play? They have Macbeth on a shelf in 221b.
Henry V? (”the game is afoot”)
The Importance of Being Ernest?
Mycroft’s small notebook (seen in ASIP and TAB)?
Books Mycroft and his team would overlook:
Fairy tales, children’s books, certain magazines:
“What happens next” is used in TV guides.
Tumblr media
In TFP is young Sherlock reading a book by Brenda Scames (the name on the gravestone)? A similar name was briefly seen in a newspaper in TSOT:
