I’m heartbroken over the loss of Matthew Perry. But I’m seeing so many posts about him in Friends and not enough of his other awesome projects. 4 of his characters are in my list of comfort shows. I’ve been through so much, and watching my comfort shows with him, has been with me through those times.
Here are some other great roles I love him in.
Matt Albie - Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip
My favorite show he’s in by far. If you haven’t seen it you should find it and watch it! It’s only one season, but it’s soooo worth it. I don’t think it’s streaming anywhere without buying it, but if you’re talented enough you can find it elsewhere.
Joe Quincy - The West Wing
Just a fantastic show. Please watch it! It’s on Max.
The Good Wife and The Good Fight - Mike Kresteva
Two great shows!! And Mike is a fun character.
Fools Rush In - Alex Whitman
Romantic comedy. Very good! I’m not sure where/if it streams. I haven’t watched it in a while but it was always a favorite.
Three To Tango - Oscar Novack
Such a good movie! Funny funny and a great cast!
Ally McBeal - Todd Merrick
It’s a short guest spot for him, but he is great! Plus, it’s one of my top 5 shows and simply wonderful and fun.
Matthew Perry - Studio 60
Obviously, these are not all of his roles, but they’re among my favorites. He deserves to be remembered for his roles outside of Friends. I truly hope you check some of these out, because he was so great in everything he did.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS 10-Episode Series Green-Lit for FX
The TV spin-off of Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement’s 2014 vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows has been given a 10-episode half-hour first season by its new home on American network FX.
What We Do in the Shadows, a comedy/mocumentary originally released in 2014 followed the lives of a group of vampires in modern day Wellington, New Zealand and charted their attempts to adapt and survive in the 21st Century whilst having to deal with amongst the usual everyday mundanity, an unruly young vampire, an ex-girlfriend and a group of affirmative-action werewolves. It was directed by and starred Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) and co-written/starred Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Concords).
The series, which has been relocated to the U.S. will see a new trio of vampires struggle to get to grips with 21st Century life in America. Featuring the phenomenally strong comedic coupling of Brits Kayvan Novack (Four Lions) and Matt Berry (Toast of London) , they’ll be joined by Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen, Doug Jones, Beanie Feldstein, Jake McDorman and Mark Proksch. Both Waititi & Clement are on board in executive producer capacities, Waititi having already directed the pilot episode and Clement handling scripting duties. With no current air date scheduled, What We Do in the Shadows is expected to air Spring 2019.
With all that we currently know about the TV spin-off of What We Do in the Shadows, things are looking incredibly promising and stars are seemingly aligning in all the right ways. There is a great selection of comedic talent behinds it’s production and both of the original films creators are onboard to craft their creation into a hopefully, equally appealing, hilarious and entertaining a prospect as the original film was.
