Outer Battery (New York) is a label probably most known for releasing work from J Mascis' side project Heavy Blanket. Now, they're releasing the first in what is supposed to be several 7"s from The Foreign Correspondents. I'm pretty excited about this release

Inauguration d’Espace Diffusion

Nous étions plusieurs invités sourires aux lèvres, hier soir à participer à l’inauguration d’Espace Diffusion et au dévoilement de sa programmation 2022/2023. Jadis le Théâtre Tournesol à Cowansville créé en 2002 est maintenant Espace Diffusion.

Il est dit, qu’il manque de relève! De jeunes entrepreneurs se sont mobilisées pour redonner une nouvelle vie au Théâtre des Tournesols. Ainsi, Espace Diffusion est maintenant sous la direction, pas d’un, ni de deux, mais de cinq jeunes entrepreneurs sachant bien user des forces de chacun, afin de remettre un nouveau souffle à cet établissement à faire rayonner les arts et de la culture dans la belle région de Brome-Missisquoi. Espace Diffusion est maintenant sous la bonne et jeune gouvernance de Mme Josiane Noiseux, M. Philippe Mercier, M. Adam Pearson, Édouard Lagacé et Marc Danis. Le Théâtre Tournesol, que dis-je, Espace Diffusion a eu une cure de rajeunissement. Des revitalisations ont été faites avec des nouvelles loges en arrière-scène ayant une entrée spécialement faite pour les artistes. Un nouveau hall d’entrée saura bien accueillir les invités et la section bar lounge est conviviale pour les rencontres avant spectacles et entractes. Nous pouvons palper l’effervescence des nouveaux propriétaires. Ils ont plusieurs initiatives en tête, afin de donner à la région de Brome-Missisquoi une salle de spectacle multifonction sachant répondre aux demandes du milieu et à tous les âges. Comme le mentionnais Mme Josiane Noiseux co-propriétaire d’Espace Diffusion, « Nous voulons débuter de façon sobre et s’ajuster au lieu d’avancer trop rapidement. » Cela dit comme vous pourrez le constater par la programmation ici-bas, les spectacles sont de marque et débuterons le 16 septembre 2022. SpotEv tentera d’avoir l’ensemble des spectacles, afin de vous informer des ajouts d’artistes et l’achat des billets directement. Maurizio Landini a Londra: “In battaglia per rimettere al centro le persone”

Fra i tanti temi emersi, un filo conduttore: rimettere i lavoratori al centro delle politiche. “La battaglia che dev’essere fatta è una battaglia che rimetta al centro le persone, il lavoro e la sua qualità, e la sostenibilità e ambientale delle scelte politiche ed economiche”. Sono queste le parole che Maurizio Landini, segretario generale della CGIL, ha detto lo scorso 18 settembre all`evento che lo ha visto protagonista alla Crypt on the Green di Clerkenwell a Londra. Al centro della conferenza, nel corso della quale sono intervenuti diversi ospiti prima di un estensivo commento di Landini, le problematiche comuni che molti italiani all’estero si trovano a dover affrontare. Sono proprio questi ostacoli contro i quali si scaglia la “battaglia” di Landini: Brexit, tutela dei lavoratori, pensioni, università e diritti rappresentano i temi emersi più volte, che a detta del segretario generale della CGIL nascono da un ecosistema nel quale le istituzioni non sono riuscite a mettere i cittadini al centro delle proprie politiche. Particolarmente rilevante è stato l’intervento in apertura di Michele Pagliaro, presidente del Patronato Inca CGIL, organizzatore dell’evento. Pagliaro ha sollevato diversi argomenti, che si sono concentrati sul fenomeno della migrazione italiana in Regno Unito, che pure durante il lockdown dovuto alla pandemia non si è mai fermato. “Da noi il lavoro si perde,” ha commentato, “ed infatti pure in lockdown sono centodiecimila le persone che hanno lasciato l’Italia per andare all’estero”. La parola è poi passata a chi ha vissuto proprio questo fenomeno. Dal musicista Stefano Barone, rappresentante di ANPI Londra, ai rappresentanti del Comites Dimitri Scarlato e Germana Canzi, tutti gli interventi hanno evidenziato parallelismi e differenze fra il Regno Unito e l’Italia in materia di tutela dei diritti, di lavoro, di università e ricerca, di benefit e di clima. Dopo gli interventi dei rappresentanti della comunità italiana in UK, è stata la volta di Landini, che ha tratto numerosi spunti da quanto sentito.
