Actualmente en Lima estamos lidiando con las consecuencias de un desastre ambiental completamente prevenible: un derrame de petróleo en la refinería La Pampilla, que ha descargado 6000 barriles al mar🛢🌊 Esto trae consecuencias nocivas para el ambiente marino y todas las especies que habitan en él, así como las personas que limpien el desastre. Quienes deben hacerse cargo de limpiar esto son quienes lo causaron: @repsolperu . No existen excusas, por algo existen los planes de prevención y mitigación, que claramente no pusieron en efecto. After the crisis, the peruvian population took over social media like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to express their concern and upset with this matter.

A lot of peruvian artists with different ages, styles, material and approaches but all of them addressed this matter in their own particular way. Using the hashtag #repsolhaztecargo which translates as #repsol.take.responsability.

Their art inspires me in various ways, aesthetically but also emotionally because of the strong imagery and the amount of people that are so invested in this matter.

Relating it to my theme,

I like making art with powerful meaning, making it out of controversial and socio/political situations.

For me movement was color, freedom, LIFE; but now that this crisis happened i know how unrealistic that is. I want to address this project as the stop of that "natural movement". and how most of the time we are the reason for that. Addressing this problem I feel like I'm not only spreading what is going on in Peru but also it is a way to feel more connected with my country and it's issues because even if I'm far from home it still matters to me.

🚨 PLANTÓN CONTRA EL ECOCIDIO EN PERÚ 🚨 #RepsolHazteCargo

El derrame de 6 mil barriles de petróleo a cargo de la empresa #Repsol alcanza una contaminación de 1.800 kilómetros cuadrados de franja de playa y 7.139 kilómetros cuadrados de mar en Lima y sus regiones limítrofes. Los gremios de pescadores y asociaciones de comerciantes calculan que 3.000 personas han perdido su trabajo.

Repsol registra 32 infracciones ambientales en Perú. Y no podemos permitir que se sigan cometiendo más abusos en contra de nuestro ecosistema. Por eso, desde la Colectiva Kunturcanqui, convocamos a la comunidad peruana con extensión a la comunidad latina para exigir SANCIÓN Y RENEGOCIACIÓN con la empresa. Venid de negro para enrostrar a REPSOL del mismo color que hoy tienen miles de familias peruanas y su entorno ambiental.
