For the 30th anniversary of the movie musical Grease, starring Australia’s own Olivia Newton John, and desperate to be adopted by Australia’s John Travolta, Mattel kind of went all out.

Above are 10 Barbies they released for the celebration, and I am not sure that is all of them.

For example; not shown above is the rather spooky looking Danny Barbie.

All of these dolls feature something calls a “musical doll stand”, although the box doesn’t actually say what that means. I’m guessing it plays a clip of a song from the movie once switched on.

In the creation of this line they went with a variety of dolls - not just each of the main characters, but each character in a variety of their iconic outfits. Sandy was released in her first day of school outfit, cheerleader outfit, dance-off outfit and finale outfit, and I’m not sure I’m not missing one.

Naturally of course Frenchie and Rizzo are represented in the line, but I can’t actually find a version of Marty or Jan. Which is a bit disappointing, actually, as Marty is a bit of a long-shot favourite of mine. There are some pictures online of a Marty doll, but one was never officially released as part of the line.

Extra weird to me as they released not one but two dolls of Chacha?

In any case, it wasn’t only the adult dolls who had the fun. There was even a Kelly and Tommy release as part of this line!

Many of the dolls in the collection were released as Pink Label; but some were Silver Label.

Imagine................You invite the ranger gang to your youth group on Friday night to winter warmers night.

"Hot chocolate?" One of the leaders asks.

"Yes please." You say.

"Thanks." The rangers say in unison.

Your boyfriend Javi takes a sip and says,

"Needs marshmallows."

He gets up and goes to the table in the middle of the room and gets some marshmallows. A few minutes later the group plays a game called empires. One of your leaders explained the game,

"Okay so pens and papers are coming around and you have to write something in the category that we chose, the names will only be read out once, you have two guess who is who if the person says no it's there turn to guess, if they person guesses and you say yes then you join there empire, the person with the biggest empire wins. Okay the category is movie characters."

Javi knew who you were gonna put down so when it got to his turn he said

"Y/N are you Sandy Olson from Grease?"

"I hate you but yes I am." You say to him with a small grin on your face.

The two of you were now an empire and you had to do another guess. So you whispered to each other. He gave you a 'are you sure?" look. You nodded.

"Ollie are you Doody from Grease?" Javi asks.

"Why the heck would you-yes." Ollie says. The two of you high-fived and whispered who you were gonna guess next.

"Amelia has to be Frenchy. If Ollie was Doody then Amelia has to be Frenchy because you can't have Frenchy without Doody or Doody without Frenchy." You say to him and he nods and asked,

"Amelia are you Frenchy from Grease?"

"Oh My Gosh how are you guys so good at this? Yes i am." She says to you guys.

In the end Javi had the largest empire, So in conclusion you guys had the best night of your lives.

So umm this was an event in my life I go to a youth group and yeah, we had winter warmers night and we played the game that is in this story, so yeah and I was in one of the leaders empires and she had the largest empire. So yeah that was a great night. If you don't have a youth group just pretend you do. Anyway yeah. Peace out.

Phoenix.- Los enfrentamientos de la postemporada de las Grandes Ligas están definidos, con los duelos por el comodín de la Liga Americana y la Liga Nacional arrancando hoy

Ronald Acuña Jr., Matt Olson y la potente ofensiva de los Bravos de Atlanta se han hecho acreedores de unos días adicionales de descanso y relajación tras el trajín de los 162 juegos de temporada regular en las Grandes Ligas.

Mismo caso para José Altuve, Justin Verlander y los vigentes campeones Astros de Houston –quienes ganaron el banderín de la División Oeste de la Liga Americana en el último día de la temporada– al igual que los Dodgers de Los Angeles y la admirable historia de los Orioles de Baltimore.

En cuanto a los ocho equipos restantes la acción de la postemporada llega de manera apresurada.

Los enfrentamientos de la postemporada de las Grandes Ligas están definidos, con los duelos por el comodín de la Liga Americana y la Liga Nacional arrancando hoy. Es el segundo año con el nuevo formato de octubre, que incluye una primera ronda con series al mejor de tres, con todos los juegos disputándose en casa del mejor clasificado.

En la Americana, los sextos clasificados Azulejos de Toronto visitarán a los terceros Mellizos de Minnesota, y los quintos Rangers de Texas viajarán a casa de los cuartos Rays de Tampa Bay. En la Nacional, figuran los sextos Diamondbacks de Arizona ante los terceros Cerveceros de Milwaukee, y los quintos Marlins de Miami ante los Filis de Filadelfia.

I wonder how the Pink Ladies would have looked in the 70s 80s 90s and early 2000s I love how Grease was set in the late 50s and filmed in 78. I also like that Grease 2 was set in the early 60s and filmed in 1982. I absolutely love John Travolta as Danny Zuko, Olivia Newton John as Sandy Olson, Maxwell Caulfield as Michael Carrington and Michele Pfeiffer as Stephanie Zinoni.

Donald “Don” Dvorak Vinton Donald “Don” Dvorak, 88, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Home in Vinton, Iowa, on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022. A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, from 3 to 6 p.m. and also from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Vinton, Iowa, with Pastor Stephen Preus officiating. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Tranquility. Don was born on April 19, 1934, in Elberon, Iowa. He was the son of the late Frank Jr. and Bessie (Banes) Dvorak. He graduated from Keystone High School in 1952. He attended Iowa State University where he studied Aeronautical Engineering until enlisting in the Navy. On Oct. 28, 1956, Don married the love of his life, Mary Jocille Merchant in Vinton, Iowa. Don was a Navy pilot for many years. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA until his retirement in 1987. He was baptized and confirmed at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa, in 1954, and was active in the Lutheran Church throughout his life. Don enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, hunting, leather working, and woodworking. He was an owner of a hobby farm that produced many apples that he gave to family and friends. In his later years, Don worked for Grant Wood AEA. Those left to cherish Don’s memory are his wife, Mary Jocille Dvorak, of Vinton, Iowa; his children, Kent (Carrie) Dvorak, of Sandy, Utah, and Sherri (Terry) Olson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Crystal (Anthony Mysliwiec) Olson, Jacob (Stacey) Dvorak, Steven (Martha Kopsi) Olson, Christopher (Jessica) Dvorak, and Joseph (Kate) Dvorak; and six great-grandchildren, James, Mason, Noah, Jackson, Grace, and Freddie. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Louise Dvorak, William Dvorak, and Joann Toalson. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Lutheran Home in Vinton and/or to the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Lutheran Home for all the love and care they showed Don, while he was in their care.
