Ewww , ugly uncanny Valley feet .no wonder Sega made a mandate forbidding showing the sonic characters barefoot. Gross.🤢

SEGA/Sonic Team actually do have a canon design for the feet. I used to hate it, but over time (after doing character references for my own OCs, lols) I gained a new appreciation for them, especially since they help with getting shoes on in place easier.

They also fit a lot better than trying to insert paws onto the characters, and the design doesn't take away too much from the simplistic designs. Sometimes, not everything needs to have many details as possible.

I'd actually be interested to know why you think that Maria's death strips Shadow of his nuance. That's the catalyst for his life turning out how it does. I wouldn't think that would take away from him. What do you mean?

I don't disagree with you saying that Maria is a plot device to motivate Shadow, as that is true. But, it's a pretty common method of storytelling. Like how so many protagonists have dead parents that give them a reason to do what they do.

Considering that many people are hyper focusing on the whole 'Maria's death motivated Shadow', when in truth it was Gerald going insane from Maria's death and then tampering with Shadow's memories that caused Shadow to be so eager to use the ARK as an Earth annihilation device in the first place. This is all layed out, front and center, in Sonic Adventure 2.

Maria's 'wish', her last words to Shadow, were tampered with in order for Gerald to have his final revenge against those who betrayed him. The dude literally used Shadow as a post-humorous catalyst to kill everyone on Earth. Yet you don't hear anyone talking about how Maria's death affected Gerald to basically brainwash Shadow to do Gerald's bidding posthumously. By attributing the misery Gerald went through to Shadow, you LOSE nuance as to why Shadow moved on in the first place.

Nobody is getting off to anything. People want to see Maria die because if it does happen, it spells good things for the tone of the movie. The biggest mistake the filmmakers could make is toning down Shadow's story to the point of her not dying. Shadow's backstory is pivotal to his characterization. People are tired of him being treated like a one-note edgehog when he's much more nuanced than that. If they're able to pull off his tragedy we can be rest assured the rest of the movie will be solid.

I see your point about the fact that Maria is attached to a real child now, so it's a bit sticky. But, people are just having fun and no one is REALLY talking about the actual child, just the character she will be playing. It's not that serious, I promise.

As for the games, it's basically the same thing. Shadow has been treated poorly, and people want him to be taken seriously again. If they pull off bringing up his past again, we can be certain his true character will be re-established.

Also people like seeing characters suffer, it's not weird. Life is full of suffering, and seeing characters go through real struggles that change them makes their character arcs more satisfying. The highs mean more when the character has been really low. Think about it, Zuko wouldn't be nearly as popular as he is if he hadn't gone through so much to end up on the Avatar's side.

All I hear from this is 'I will defend people literally wishing death on a white child, even if that child is fictional, because it's okay to do so, despite how insistent it is as well as how many people are using it to pretend like SA2 is going to be adapted bit by bit when considering the last two movies, it's not going to'.

Also Zuko had moments where he wasn't taken seriously as well. You got to balance out the rough with the good. Otherwise, people automatically assume you wanted torture porn.

Eggy tried to kill Tails after acknowledging that he is a child. He even went as far as to say killing him would be his pleasure. He also held Amy at gun point and threatened to blow her brains out.

Also in unleashed he literally split the world apart , which had to have caused some casualties.

On top of trying to mind control Tails in Colours with plans on doing that to the whole planet, nearly draining the world of it's energy in Lost World, and even kidnapping a mother in Advance 2...

Yeah, Eggman's a bastard, through and through...

I never liked the whole "eggman is harmless/a joke" thing going around in fandom. Not only because it Robs eggman of his autonomy and badassery, but also kinda makes Sonic kinda look like a cunt and a bully in retrospect. Trashing a harmless old guys mechs and leaving him for dead all the time...

I know, right? On top of it, Eggman's not innocent as the idiotic fandom likes to make him be. Like, literally the dude fires a missile onto Station Square in Sonic Adventure to level it. The fact it was a dud does not minimize the potential lives he could have destroyed if it actually did go off like planned. He literally did that with the intent to kill and level Station Square. There's no excuse for that behaviour that isn't 'he doesn't care about anything but himself', and the 'fans' need to reevaluate what they like about Sonic if they're so fucking willing to ignore a literal levelling of a city with a missile for their 'Eggman is harmless/a joke' line of reasoning.

innocent ? he admitted to pushing boundaries and now multiple people are saying he has continued to push boundaries even after being told to stop. it’s one thing to want to see someone change for the better, especially if they’ve been an important figure in your life. but he is not innocent and he knows as much. he is a man in his 30s and needs to be held accountable for how many people he has harassed and made uncomfortable, whether it was his intent or not.

Again, my point stands - it was handled privately. The guy was already addressing it after he had a conversation with Lady Emily. He's already been held accountable by people around him. Shaming him online does nothing but make him want to be online less. HOLDING HIM 'ACCOUNTABLE' ONLINE BY DOZENS OF STRANGERS JUST MAKES IT HARDER FOR HIM TO MOVE ON.

All you're doing is being an asshole by constantly not allowing yourself to let him move on. Let him go.

the reason sally got so much like is bc ben hurst actually cared for her and loved her as a character, unlike amy who was started off as a joke character and wasn't that deep no matter how much her inexperienced-with-romance fanbase pretends it is. u can tell just by reading archie vs sega's abyssmal treatment of amy over the years that sally was treated as an actual member of the cast and respected, unlike amy who was constantly sidelined and given poor characterization outside of a tired gag. st/soj are mediocre writers who rely on fans and even soa to clean up their mistakes

Last I checked, Amy was given a full story in SA1 where she got to save a little bird and find their family without Sonic's assistance, and both that game and SA2 showed that she does have the ability to make people change their minds and free them from being brainwashed. On top of this, Amy also led her own team to help Cream and Big find Chocola and Froggy respectfully, actually committed to her idea of becoming someone Sonic would look to for help, helped lead the Resistance along with Knuckles in Forces, and has generally lent herself to being the heart of the whole Sonic cast. All this was done by SoJ, without plans by SoA involved.

Link isn't seeming to work right, but it's basically a side-by-side comparison of Lanolin the Sheep (Or really, Sally Sheeples) next to edits of Sally, showcasing the two are practically the same character.

And it's like... Yeah, this just proves how much Flynn still wants Sally to come back, no matter how much he says in PR that Sonic Team won't bring them back because they're irrelevant.

Like, it just makes things clearer that Sally Sheeples story was supposed to be Sally's down the line.

I dunno how people can like this comic and pretend it's good sometimes.

what's the problem with miles tails wachowski?

It's not Tails name in the movie. It's 'Miles 'Tails' Prower', the same as the games.

It's enforcing the Found Family trope to make Tails a literal goo-goo gaa-gaa baby who needs his nappies changed by Sonic, and not actually considering Tails the self-sufficient character who can live on his own and has taken care of himself before Sonic.

Last I checked, only Sonic was adopted by the Wachoskis, not Tails or Knuckles.

Tails has his own home in the movie. So, unless you want to add 'kidnapping a child' onto the Wachowski's list of crimes in both Sonic Movies, I suggest leaving Tails' name as 'Miles 'Tails' Prower' instead of acting like the Wachowskis kidnapped him wholesomely.

Even though I'm still not really a fan of some design choices, both art, story and gameplay-wise, I still have a soft spot for skylanders.

I really wish I collected them - mostly for the dragons, but still. Some of their designs were amazing. And some, like Whirlwind's...

You can NOT tell me that THIS is supposed to be a unicorn/dragon mix, and then ONLY have the unicorn traits show up with the tail, horn, and ears. Give her more of a horse face! Make her back legs have hooves! Don't leave her more draconic!

It's why whenever I tackle Whirlwind's design, I usually make her more horse like - to invoke that sense of her being left out more by her appearance.

But besides Whirlwind, you can TELL that there was a lot of love put into Skylanders for people who had come before. It's a bit sad that some of the choices that made it the way it was alienated a lot of people from touching it like myself. But you got to admit that, without Skylanders around, not a lot of kids today would know who Spyro was.

I am not surprised that the people who despise Japanese things would dislike a show that not only had a lot of Japanese stock imagery, but also was a neat adaptation of a Japanese show for Western audiences.

At least they didn't try dubbing it like they did with the silly Car Safety Super Sentai show.

yes amy was decent in SA1, ok in SA2, then they just made her a gag character after that until frontiers and forces if im not mistaken

Yet Amy Rose had:

Helped Cream and Big find Chocola and Froggy in Sonic Heroes.

Trained herself to be better in Battle, nearly at the cost of her own life.

Went off to find Cream admist an alien invasion in Shadow the Hedgehog.

Helped Princess Elise escape once in 06, and stopped Silver from killing Sonic once in the same game.

Helped out Professor Pickle in Unleashed.

Helped lead the Resistance in Forces.

Raced with Sonic and the gang in Riders and Zero Gravity, as well as Free Riders.

Is playable in the Advance Trilogy, thus she helped Stop Eggman's schemes there.

Do any of these look like 'gag' moments, dear anon?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Internet callout culture is just bullying, stalking and harassment taken to the max. It also stifles growth. Saying one off-color statement is enough for the internet mobs to hound a person forever and dub them a Complete Monster forever, even after they apologize and become a better person.

I've seen people dig up 15 year old tweets (often made when the person was a minor) to "prove" that a person is bad/racist/homophobic .

I've also seen people wrongfully lose jobs because of these jackals.
