“It’s been 60 years since my last visit… and I must say, it’s been quite a while, “Master Gracey”. Your eyes, they’re such a beautiful sky blue, with fair skin and lovely freckles. And your hair, such a long, soft purple with white streaks. It would look so beautiful in my hatbox. I’ll take good care of it, fufufu~ Sadly, there simply is no time to catch up, for he is coming. And that devil... he is quite unpleasant, I'm afraid so.”
If you would like to participate in this essence, don’t be shy! This essence is a part two to the Barriere Hotel packages! Because of this, you can find everything to do with this essence underneath the [hotel] tag, and therefore, please use [hotel] in your ask! Also, while some of the titles use gendered terms like "men", they can be any gender! However, some characters here have established genders, like Leona [who is a girl] while some are masculine/feminine PRESENTING but technically genderless [like Collecting and "Ba'al"] so just keep that in mind ^^ if you're unsure, just ask :]

An oddball. Collecting the heads of different spirits and sealing them inside his hatbox, something about them seems... wrong. He doesn't seem to have ever been human... almost like he's pure spiritual energy.

A descendant of the Gracey family. She ended up on the Barriere Hotel's grounds due to a mysterious letter simply addressed to one "Master Gracey".
The Hitchhiking Ghosts
A pair of three hitchhiking ghosts. It's said they were taken before their time, and aren't ready to depart from the living just yet... and they follow no master.
The Head Chef | ???
A hot-tempered ghoulish chef who follows the orders of the Hatbox Master. They harbor a particular hatred towards the "Host", becoming an explosive ghost at the mere mention.
The Searcher | ???
A lost soul, torn in half by the "Host" and left to permanently wander the ghost realm, sobbing in sorrow. They follow no one, too confused to realize there is a path to be desired.
The 5th Dimension | "Ba'al"
One of the few sentient locals of the 5th Dimension. The title sounds familiar... but you can't put your finger on why?
A Sanguine Gaze | "Sanguine"
A follower of the Hatbox, "Sanguine" is loyal to the master who rescued her from an eternity of blind suffering.

The dearest friend of Sophia, and a dear friend who recently went missing...

The ancestor of Lucien Aliceson and a medium bridging the ghost realm with our own. She was granted with the power of visions.

A quintet of traveling ghost musicians... with powerful, hypnotic ghosts. They are followers of the "Host"... and are quite a tricky gang too.

A melancholy soul who died in a bad accident, orchestrated by the "Phantom of the Manor"... She is trapped within the depths of the manor and has placed her trust in the Hatbox.

A humble, shy gentleman, yet... a bit pathetic, and clumsy. He does not like people, asides from his little sister, his only ally in this cruel world.
The Stretching Portrait: The Three Quicksand Men The ??? Siblings
A trio of three siblings, illegitimate children to the Misfortune Family. They were condemned to the quicksand pit by their father to keep the "pristine" nature of the Misfortune Family... and have been forgotten by nearly all of history. Naturally, they follow the Hatbox, for the "Host" is but a cruel gleam of a life they were robbed of.

The wife of Mister Misfortune, who murdered her husband after the effective slaughter of the quicksand men. Those boys may not be her true sons... but a mother's fury always has a price to be paid. She sides with no one, only doing what's in the best interest of her boys. All four of them.

15: favorite book you’ve read as a school assignment?
A List of Cages by robin roe was during the summer before my freshman year of high school, a while back, and I remember annotating it, loving the plot, enjoying the assignment which was to take notes and annotate the pages if the book was our personal one and then we…didn’t do anything with it except a handout that said “did you do the reading?” with checkboxes labeled yes and no. I was so disappointed but I remember loving that book. There’s also Brain On Fire by Susannah Cahalan, which is just an amazing true story (the movie is ok but the book is just *chefs kiss*. I’m actually using it in my final project in my psychology course this year!!

57: the three biggest struggles you’ve overcome?
Coming out to myself. I actually came out to my friends before myself, which sounds weird but hold on. I knew i was queer so i told them, the ones i was comfortable with, about my sexuality. But i wasn’t in full terms with it. I grew up very religious and the way my church and family spoke about homosexuality just made me feel like an outcast. Thankfully, I’m proud of who i am today and while I’m terrified of the day I come out to my family, i know i can make it through the tough times if they come
My belief in god isn’t a struggle per se but i much prefer my relationship with them today than my past relationship with them. In the past i was a nightmare, just a total bitch and even though ik today it was because of how i was raised and what i absorbed and all the internalized homophobia, i still know it’s not an excuse to unlearn all my taught hatred so I’m pretty proud to say that i am a much, much better person today ✨character growth✨
My fear of death. While i haven’t completely overcome this, ive come to better terms with the fact that one day i will die and the only thing i can do is live life to the fullest and just live, not to force myself into a box of what i have to do but just enjoy being alive while i am. My new fear however is the ocean, just being alone in the middle of the sea, no boat just me…my heart beat very fast as I typed that

Percy Jackson. I have neither ADHD or dyslexia but i do wear my sarcasm and humor as my shield. Also, i just feel like he would be such a good friend and compliment to my personality
Tony stark. I do have anxiety and depression but i am not a billionaire or genius. I just get him, ya know? I can easily put myself in his place and see his thought process.

Allowing the Inspector, Susannah, Irma and Bart to defeat the Blorgons in ‘The Blorgons’ simply by pulling a plug on their bunker was really a cop-out.
Beyond which, why didn’t everyone get electrocuted crossing the metal flooring inside the bunker?

Not sure what to make of it that Rachelle D. Tavies posted the question ‘Where did she go?’ in relation to Susannah Overseer.
But, given that Honor Blackman passed away in 2020, someone would have to be cast to replace her if her character were to return.

Did you know that ...?
Leslie French pitched a story idea in which the Inspector and his Associates would come face-to-face with the Inspector’s former supervisor at the Infinity Knight Academy, turned time-travelling criminal. The events of the story could have had desperate consequences for Susannah Overseer, who would have had to choose between the Inspector, Exo-Pol, and the love of her life.
