Not sure if Manaphy figured out heart swap before this point, but I think it'd be really funny if Manaphy was visiting Ark and Twig when they use it for the first time on them, on accident. So now shenanigans ensue as Manaphy tries to figure out how to use the move again. Ark deals with feeling chronic coldness and legs, and Twig dealing with trying to float without smashing her head into the ceiling. Older Opal may be there, worried and trying to help, but very clearly stifling her laughter.

Okay, I know this is stupid but it’s for giggles so bear with me:

Imagine Ark and Twig come home one day to find an egg on their doorstep. They both agree they’re probably not qualified to take care of a baby, so they gotta find someone else to take care of it — and suddenly the egg hatches. It’s a baby Darkrai. A literal newborn tiny Darkrai. No thoughts just baby mind.

And suddenly, Ark and Twig are the ONLY people qualified to raise this child. Panic ensues.

This was way too fun to make.

What was it like the first time Twig or Ark referred to each other as Mother/Dad when talking to Opal? Was it awkward or were they comfortable enough that it was natural?

It was completely comfortable, at least at first, because they initially only referred to each other that way when they were alone with Opal and the other was away. They both had a small heart attack after Opal started talking and finally connected the dots as to who Mother and Dad were akin to how she realized Dusknoir was Grandpa.

Neither of them noticed that Opal had referred to them by a parental term because they were too panicked by Opal blabbing their secret in front of their crush.

Does Ark ever use his legs?

Honestly, he uses them more like landing gear than actual legs— he’ll extend them to steady himself if he gets knocked back in a fight, or to keep himself in place in extremely windy conditions, but other than that, no, not really.

Unless it’s in this comic I’ve had sitting on the back burner for over a month and he has the perfect opportunity to tease Twig.
