NEW VIDEO: YAW TOG - ASO DEN
youtube
He came to London for some shows and filmed the video in Piccadilly Circus and on the underground amongst other locations in the capital.
Breakthrough Ghanaian musician Yaw Tog drops his new single ‘Aso)den’ via EMPIRE. Returning to his widely acclaimed Drill sound, ‘Aso)den’ is an energetic offering inspired byrebellion and a bouncy production courtesy of Khendi Beatz.
Captured by BigBossRG, the vibrant video was shot in a variety of infamous London locations including Piccadilly Circus and the London Underground during his trip to the capital in October.
The title of the single, ‘Aso)den’ - which translates to ‘stubbornness’ in Yawtog’s native language, Twi - reflects his young yet matured mindset which he continues to demonstrate to his fans. ‘Aso)den’ has been highly anticipated since the preview surfaced last month and is due to be part of a wider project out soon. Speaking on the single Yawtog said: “You just can't beat the person who wont give up”

Apple Music’s Latest Africa Rising recipient is Afro-pop Artist Khaid
Tumblr media
Apple Music today announced the latest featured artist in its Africa Rising artist development program, 18-year-old Lagos-born, Afro-pop singer-songwriter and rapper, Khaid (real name Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon). “I want to express my gratitude for choosing me as the African Rising Artist for September,” Khaid says. “I'm genuinely thrilled about this opportunity, as it holds significant meaning for both my team and me. I'm confident that you will all enjoy my upcoming EP Emotions which showcases a diverse range of beautiful music and will be released in Spatial Audio. Sending my love to everyone.” After his viral freestyles on TikTok caught the eye of influencer and comedian Sydney Talker, who immediately signed him to his Lagos-based label, Neville Records, Khaid was selected as Apple Music’s Up Next Artist in Nigeria for June 2022. He then went on to share his debut album, DIVERSITY (2023), released through Neville Records and available to stream on Apple Music, a record that was born out of an 18-month-long artist development scheme, and saw him position himself as an upcoming authority on blending established genres with street influences.  Khaid started 2023 strong with the Afro-fusion ballad “Jolie”, and followed that up with the Afrobeats-infused collaborative single, “Carry Me Go” (2023). He then released “Annabella” (2023), a declaration of adoration that showcases his talent for merging multiple genres, and his upcoming EP Emotions, which will be available to stream in Spatial Audio on Apple Music, will be rooted in his now-staple signature flow.  The latest music from Khaid along with that of Africa’s hottest new artists, is available now on the Apple Music Africa Rising Playlist. Discover Africa Rising here: applemusic.com/africarising Apple Music’s Africa Rising, is an exclusive artist development programme and companion playlist geared towards identifying, showcasing and elevating rising talent and introducing the next generation of African superstars. My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade [Official Music Video]...
When I was a young boy My father took me into the city To see a marching band He said, "Son, when you grow up Would you be the savior of the broken The beaten and the damned?" He said, "Will you defeat them? Your demons, and all the non-believers The plans that they have made?" "Because one day, I'll leave you a phantom To lead you in the summer To join the black parade
"When I was a young boy My father took me into the city To see a marching bandHe said, "Son, when you grow up Would you be the savior of the broken The beaten and the damned?
"Sometimes I get the feelin' She's watchin' over me And other times I feel like I should go And through it all, the rise and fall The bodies in the streets And when you're gone, we want you all to know
We'll carry on, we'll carry on And though you're dead and gone, believe me Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on And in my heart, I can't contain it The anthem won't explain i
tA world that sends you reelin' From decimated dreams Your misery and hate will kill us all So paint it black and take it back Let's shout it loud and clear Defiant to the end, we hear the call
To carry on, we'll carry on And though you're dead and gone, believe me Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on And though you're broken and defeated Your weary widow marches
On and on, we carry through the fears Oh, ah, ha Disappointed faces of your peers Oh, ah, ha Take a look at me, 'cause I could not care at all
Do or die, you'll never make me Because the world will never take my heart Go and try, you'll never break me We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scars Give a cheer for all the broken Listen here, because it's who we are
Just a man, I'm not a hero Just a boy, who had to sing this song Just a man, I'm not a hero I don't care
We'll carry on, we'll carry on And though you're dead and gone, believe me Your memory will carry on
You'll carry on And though you're broken and defeated Your weary widow marches, oh
Do or die, you'll never make me Because the world will never take my heart Go and try, you'll never break me We want it all, we wanna play this part (we'll carry on) Do or die, you'll never make me (we'll carry on) Because the world will never take my heart (we'll carry on) Go and try, you'll never break me (we'll carry on) We want it all, we wanna play this part (we'll carry on!)
