Prompt: shio giving shui a saltwater bath

Reaching a wide clearing in the trees, Shio stretches before grabbing the rough-bristled brush from her bag. Next to her, Shui nudges her affectionately, and the Kojin laughs.

"Yes, Shui. You're going to get a bath now."

As her ray floats into the sunlight in the middle of the dappled clearing, Shio concentrates. The theory of how to modify this spell wasn't hard. Just-

"Ah!" she exclaims, as her Aether coalesces from her fingertips into a thin stream of water, the familiar smell of salt reaching her nose.

Chambering atop the striped body of her longest companion, the short woman makes sure to use the water and brush both to scrub every bit of his skin, ensuring that there is no dry skin or irritated spots from spending so long away from the sea.

Finishing with his back, she slides off and watches him turn over, exposing his pale underside to her. Cooing gently at her mount and friend, Shio carefully washes off his belly too, making sure to avoid irritating his gills with the brush.

Letting the spell end, shaking any last droplets from her fingertips, she climbs up on Shui's back once more after he turns over, laying back comfortably and gently stroking his damp skin with her fingertips.

"We're such a long way from home. I wonder when we're gonna see the Ruby Sea again?"

Floating gently into the shade, as she likes it, Shio grins.

"But I never feel far from home with you. You'll always be there. After all, nobody else will give you baths. The Conjurers didn't seem to understand why I wanted to know how to create _salt_ water. And they call themselves environmentally aware."

Slowly, she lets her eyes drift close, satisfied to nap in the shade with her ray.

Blue Devil #6

Noooooo, Dan's not an actor who's used to occasionally going out in public in costume, not at aaaaaaallllll...

I also love how Eddie was the one that picked up the phone. He's happily so tangled up in things that if Marla let him he'd probably try to screen all the calls to her from the Warner-knockoff exec. (And considering it's Eddie we're talking about, that'd probably come with a fair amount of cheerfully polite _salt_. Thankfully Marla does not let him do that.)
