I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but literally done with JC stans. They are rude and aggressive and make stuff up constantly and God forbid you call them out on it bc their word is canon. Apparently YanLi is a hostage with the Jin "a woman who got married would belong to the husband’s family so it’s quite an unequal relationship cuz Yanli had no power. Also, even worse is that she was basically a ‘hostage’ there as in Jin Guangshan had JC on a leash. Want your sister to be happy and her son to be safe here with us? Yeah Yanli is a hostage. Madam Jin is going to let her husband abuse her and Jin Zixuan is just going to stand by as his father hurts his wife and their baby so JC has to do anything they tell him to bc he's on a leash. They'll take one fact and then twist it and make up all the rest. Let's just makeup whatever we want.

Jiang Cheng had the high road in all of this as he had all the information needed to have prevented Wei Wuxian from becoming a social pariah. He chose not to and decided to exasperate it, regardless, as he could have easily agreed with MianMian and Lan Wangji as they tried to speak up, as a sect leader he had the clout for the other 3 sect leaders to investigate The Wen situation as well as confirm the Wen Siblings having aided them during the Lotus Pier fall (which is totally separate from the Golden Core transfer and I will say here it's very TELLING Wei Wuxian never uses it as a reason to help Wen Qing once it was done forever as fits his personality). He did not want to as he considered Wei Wuxian a problem he did not want to deal with.

Notice how not once, Jiang Cheng bothers to bring up Jiang Yanli as a reason to be protected from anything? It is always constrained to how Wei Wuxian effects Yunmeng Jiang Jiang Cheng. Just the same as his mother's rants about Wei Wuxian bringing ruin to her personally and getting in her way of how things are done. Jiang Cheng has never liked to stray from the social bounds of the sects and always chose to continue that uninterrupted since he does not like extra burdens.

Jiang Yanli wasn't even a blip to Jin Guangshan just as Jin Zixuan wasn't because he had kids in the wings to hand off the title of sect heir and he was still alive. He and Jiang Cheng were the two biggest leads against Wei Wuxian because he barely had to convince Jiang Cheng to do anything because all he cared about was getting the Yin Hu Fu and Jiang Cheng could think he would get his rightful revenge since he was convinced Wei Wuxian was always ruining his life.

There is no conspiracy against Jiang Cheng, the conspiracy was against Wei Wuxian and Wei Wuxian only and Jiang Yanli was obviously not on a tight leash given she was allowed to have an oblivious life with Jin Zixuan (because Jin Guangshan and Jin Guangyao suck and did that all on purpose and are very much the ones to blame the most for that mess of those two being naive and out of the loop). If JC was sooo horribly abused by Jin Guangshan he would not have had been able to build up Yunmeng Jiang the way he did in thirteen years as richly as he did. He was not a threat and was a tool for Jin Guangshan to use and was just fine with that if it meant Jiang Cheng could get what he thought was righteous revenge on Wei Wuxian who always ruined his life.
