Ugly glass, ugly vestments, ugly architecture, distract one's attention from one's prayers. Lets talk habitat interactions and habitat specific co-evolution and mutualism.
This should be a fun one for all you ento nerds out there.
A story about Cicindelidia rufiventris( eastern red spotted tiger beetle), Callophrys gryneus (juniper hair streak) , Satyrium edwardsii (Edward’s hair streak) , Quercus stellata (post oak), Juniperus virginiana (eastern red juniper), Formica exsectoides (Alleghany mound ant), and tightly associated ecosystem functions.
The barrens of Adam’s county, known for Juniper hairstreaks and Edwards hair streaks, Allegany ants , red bellied tiger beetles and plenty of other unique insects/ bees and wasps... Lets talk about the first four I mentioned though,
Juniper Hairstreaks and Edwards Hairstreaks are significantly less common, habitat restricted species that really only occur in a mixed “oak - juniper” opening habitat; barrens, rocky cliffs, and sandy oak opening locations with both savanna specific oaks and common junipers present. These habitats can be found in many places in the united states but their is one more thing that is restricting these species of hair streaks to a specific range or series of places... and it’s ants.
Specifically Alleghany Mound Building Ants, Formica exsectoides or the other sandier lads in the species F. integra are both notable for a specific coevolutionary connection to the easily prayed upon hairstreaks. Formic acid and a mean bites make these ants pretty good for protection on the oak and juniper feeding caterpillars of these hair streaks. These very same oaks are the ideal habitat for many different predatory and parasitic wasps that would find many a caterpillar perfect for them. Post oak’s are a typical hot spot for taking care of these caterpillars and it is well known that in barrens that have these ant mounds you can probably find one of these two hair streaks larva on either post oaks or juniper trees near by, actually rather easy if you follow the ant trail. Another interesting interaction, rather notable one at that, is that in many cases These ants will protect the caterpillars by moving them to special widened chimneys or byre mounds that access their main mounds at night or late evening to protect them. Older caterpillars and ants can also chemically signal to each other or utilize vibrations to communicate. Eventually the hairstreak in question will pupate, in many cases this may occur in the byre/chimney. After metamorphosis occurs the hairstreak is allowed to leave by the ants. The butteflies will nectar on the barrens Asclepias tuberosa and Liatris spp. commonly enough that you may have a good chance seeing the species.
Now for the ants, these ants actually require the open bare soil for habitat or similar open easily accessed soil in order to survive, they just happened to have formed this coevolutionary mutualism due to the honey dew that is secreted. (you may know about senna, aphids, and ants having similar things occur).
Well what about these Tiger Beetles?
It’s no secret that Tiger Beeltles tend to have habitat preferences, Eastern Red Bellied Tiger Beetle is a fan of loose soils and barren like habitats, we actually see larger populations of these beetles associated with larger ant populations due to cavity and soil aeration caused by these ants. The theory is the tiger beetles tend to actively hunt other ants not affiliated with these mound building ants among other potential predator's to these ants.
The last thing I want to make clear is that these species are mutualistic associating species that formed these behaviors through coevolution in specific habitats; but, are in no way so deeply associated that if one of them goes extinct they all go extinct, Keystone species interaction; instead we would just see an all around population decrease for the closely associated insects.

Track 10, Album 1: "Old2thaNew"
I’ve had two primary collaborators over the 20-plus years I’ve been writing and performing hip-hop. The first, who most people associate me with, is my cousin and co-frontman for Heroes for Higher, Jim Frazier (aka Skooch Mc). Except for iterations that appeared during the Midnight:30 fallout, Jim has been by my side in every act I have been part of.
My other primary collaborator is Dan Stevens. Dan, likewise, has been part of nearly every group I’ve been in over the years; I believe the only exception is Blue Sky Research. I have literally watched Dan grow up before my eyes — we started making music together when he was a skinny little 16-year-old Billie Joe Armstrong wannabe with a haircut you could surf on. He played guitar on the first song I ever recorded — a tragic prisoner of the moment titled “Hippie-Hop” — and he’s been by my side ever since. While it’s true that Brian Twigg was uniquely influential in my musical development, Dan has literally provided the soundtrack to that development — and for that, I am infinitely grateful.
Not only has Dan been a musical partner, he’s proven to be one of my most faithful friends. At various times over the years when I felt particularly alone or isolated, Dan has always been there, and he’s always been supportive. I count him as one of my best friends to this day.
“Old2thaNew” is an example of Dan and I at our best. Our main method of collaboration is pretty simple: I’ll put on a beat that I’ve been working on, and Dan just riffs over it. Sometimes I’ll have an idea of what I want him to play, but more often, Dan gets a feel for the song and jams to it. There won’t really be any idea or structure to what he’s playing. It will be a random collection of riffs and chords; later, I’ll go back and listen to it and find the best parts, loop them, and cut the rest. It isn’t uncommon for 30 minutes of recording to be whittled down to one or two five-second guitar loops; such is our creative process.
“Old2thaNew” marked the first time we employed this process. Dan came up with the guitar parts and the bassline, however, when he left my basement that day after recording, the song was nowhere near its final version; it was just that random collection of notes. I believe that when we both heard how the song turned out, we were very pleasantly surprised, and realized this partnership had some legs.
The back and forth between Jim and I still works pretty well. I sampled drums from the Counting Crows “Hanginaround”, but this song is completely driven by the guitar. I absolutely love what Dan came up with and the way it’s layered, and that ending outro is so smooth and warm — it’s probably my favorite part to any track I’ve recorded.
Dan has moved far beyond me in the local music scene; at this point, he’s inherited the title of Hardest Working Musician in Allegany County, and it’s not uncommon for him to be booked for three or more shows in a weekend. In addition to his solo career, he’s been in some of the most successful bands in the area — Grill Body 5, The Trend, Heroes for Higher, and Jaded., to name a few. And not for nothing, he’s a pretty decent golfer as well.
Despite his increasingly packed schedule, Dan always finds time to pitch in when my tracks are sorely missing some guitar guidance. I’m lucky to have such a talented friend to lean on, and I’m sure there are plenty more collaborations in our future.

Sunseeker Resort construction remains on hold in Charlotte Harbor
We sued they said we can do what we want. We took it to the town's folk. They balked when they heard it. All this time and they just end it saying we leave it. Why. We asked. No answer. Are bankrupt. Allegany owned by Macs. I said that's not really rightcstill very liquid it's public information. Permit runs out this month..they say we renew. And huge epiteths. Renew to let it sit. So I said this. It's a hazard there are several laws against leaving it that way. Hec said we take it down we agreed that's good. We said this these are all your contemporaries are other Macs have construction businesses know the law front want it sitting there. Is there a reason it's haulted. He said no. Only to threaten. Out loud. Hold ppl in Punta gorda. No. To threaten him not to go there. Does anyways. Fine we take it down. If it's a threat we call the police. He said fine all 3 of them. Then no 300 on your porch in an hour there's too many ppl threatening us we don't need it has right no inspections on the cranes in months.

What Is an Adjuster?
An “adjuster” or “insurance adjuster” is by statutory definition, a person, co-partnership or corporation who undertakes to ascertain and report the actual loss to the subject-matter of insurance due to the hazard insured against. Insurance companies create, by issuing an insurance policy, a contractual obligation to pay its insureds’ valid claim. To do so insurers understand that the person insured is not able to prove the cause and extent of loss without assistance. Therefore, insurers dispatch a person with special knowledge – the adjuster – to separate fact from fiction, to establish cause and origin of the claimed loss, and determine sufficient information to enable the insurance company determine the amounts necessary to indemnify the insured as the policy promised. The adjuster is also present to distinguish the valid claim from a claim for which the insurance company is not liable under its policy.
Some policies specifically state that the claimant must use his own judgment in estimating the amount of loss and that the assistance of an insurance adjuster is a “courtesy only” — the claimant must still send a proof of loss within 60 days after the loss even if the adjuster does not furnish the form or help you complete it. As a general rule, “[w]hen an insurer gives its insured written notice of its desire that proof of loss under a policy of fire insurance be furnished and provides a suitable form for such proof, failure of the insured to file proof of loss within 60 days after receipt of such notice, or within any longer period specified in the notice, is an absolute defense to an action on the policy” [Stopani v. Allegany Co–op Ins. Co., 83 A.D.3d 1446, 920 N.Y.S.2d 559, 2011 N.Y. Slip Op. 2588 (N.Y. App. Div., 2011)]

Rating Methodology
Health Inspections
Every year, the government assigns inspectors to conduct a formal review of nursing homes for regulatory purposes to meet the mandates outlined for Medicare and Medicaid, this aims to measure and improve the safety of residents across providers. Facilities may also be inspected when complaints are submitted or based on a reported incident. When noncompliance is identified, the facility is served a citation that indicates which regulation that was identified, along with the severity of the incident. Nursing homes are subsequently required to execute a program of resolution in order to meet compliance. Some scenarios require enforcement actions to be applied, such as a civil monetary penalty or withholding of payment(s), to incentivize resolution in a timely manner.
Penalties
Facilities are applied 2 types of penalties due to non-compliance / accumulation of incidents. Civil penalties are monetary fines that may be applied to a facility based on citations / infractions identified during a review. The severity of a penalty is defined primarily by the size and frequency of the infraction.
Quality of Residence Care
There are 3 types of resident care ratings, but for this exercise, we primarily focused on the overall quality measure rating. The quality measures (QMs) include 17 data points that are derived from clinical information reported by the respective nursing home and also from Medicare claims data submitted for payment. Ratings are calculated for the QM domain using the 4 most recent quarters for which data are available. A nursing home receives points contingent on performance on each measure (weighting distribution is not equal).
Staffing
Staffing research is submitted regularly by the facility and is adjusted for the requirement of the facilities residents. For each of registered nurse staff and total staffing, a 1 - 5 rating is applied according to definitions established for each category. These ratings are subsequently combined to assign an overall staffing rating. As an example, to get an overall staffing rating of 5 stars, nursing homes must earn a rating of 5 stars for both registered nurses and total staffing. Nursing homes could also be assigned a 1 star rating should they not have a registered nurse on-site daily, and do not submit staffing data, or which the data cannot be verified.

Peter Frampton Plots Finale — The Farewell Tour Presented By SiriusXM; Music Icon Visiting The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in North Texas on September 22nd
Legendary guitarist Peter Frampton has confirmed Peter Frampton Finale—The Farewell Tour presented by SiriusXM. The primarily U.S. tour, produced by Live Nation, will begin on June 18 in Tulsa, OK and continue throughout the summer and fall. The tour will feature special guest Jason Bonham‘s Led Zeppelin Evening, as well as Julian Frampton on the west coast stops, with additional surprise guests to appear on select dates.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning next Friday, March 1 at 10am local time at LiveNation.com (check local listings for pre-sale information). VIP packages will also be available at www.frampton.com.
Citi is the official pre-sale credit card for the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase pre-sale tickets for the newly announced dates beginning Tuesday, February 26 at 10am local time until Thursday, February 28 at 10pm local time through Citi’s Private Pass program.
Peter Frampton remains one of the most lauded artists in rock history. Most recently, Frampton performed as part of "I Am the Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell" concert as well as receiving the Les Paul Innovation Award at the 2019 NAMM Show’s 34th annual TEC Awards. He also just celebrated the 43rd anniversary of his fifth solo album, Frampton Comes Alive!, one of the top-selling live records of all time, with over 17 million copies sold worldwide.
At age 16, he was lead singer and guitarist for British band The Herd. At 18, he co-founded one of the first super-groups, seminal rock act Humble Pie. His session work includes collaborations with such legendary artists as George Harrison, Harry Nilsson, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, John Entwistle, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam), among many others.
Frampton has appeared as himself on television shows "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy." He also served as technical advisor on Cameron Crowe’s 2000 film Almost Famous as well as appearing in it and writing songs for the soundtrack. In 2007 he won the Grammy Award for "Best Pop Instrumental Album" for Fingerprints and in 2014 he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame.
