A little update to → this ← post!
I've decided to recycle/ upscale a really old plush friend of mine, and turn him into my Tummy-Puppy!! (Or Tuppy for short)
This little fella has been by my side since I was about 6 or 7 years old <3
The former best friend of my big sister gifted him to me, as an apology, because she made me cry when we had a sleepover.
╰→ she told a spookie story and put on a horror movie :(
I forgave her immediately, I've always been obsessed with floppy stuffiest, like this one! And he also has beads in all four of his paws, which make him kinda heavy. So, he's basically weighted!! <3
I've uploaded a YouTube video on how I made him, but if you don't feel like watching that, this post has all the same information and pictures as the video.
So, without further ado..
Here is how I made him my Tummy-Puppy:
Tumblr media
First, I removed the eyes! I always preferred button eyes over those beadie ones.
Tumblr media
Then, I un-did the stitches along the belly, to take out the - very lumped up - filling, re-fluffed it and stuffed him back up.
Tumblr media
Afterwards, I sew in lining, aswell as a zipper. This is where the heating cushion will go!
╰→ I bought → this ← lavender scented one (Amazon Germany).
It can also be used as a cooling aid, by simply putting it in the freezer (minimum of 60 minutes), instead of the microwave (ca. 1-2 minutes).
Here is a video of me showing how the finished Tummy-Puppy turned out!!
Basically showing all angles, taking out the cushion & putting it back in lol..)

This chonker is about:
44cm long (17.32 in)
18cm wide (7.09 in)
10cm thicc (3.94 in)
& weights 803 g (1.77 lbs)
Tumblr media
He can sit on his own, or be all floppy!!
Tumblr media
He smells so nice, like lavender, bc of the lavender scented heating cushion I bought!
Tumblr media
I'll take him with me to the hospital, when I get my top surgery!! <3
.. and probably everywhere else I go, aswell.
If my post inspired you to make your own Tummy-Buddy, I'd love to see them!! <3
Thank you for reading!
Bye bye!!

A quick heads-up for everyone:
Please, please, PLEASE take out the heating cushion, to warm it!!
DO NOT put the whole plushie in the microwave, it will most definitely catch fire!!

Note
Peony, Taffy, and Apricot!
Tumblr media
Thank you 💖💖
Taffy - I actually suck at handling children lmao I never know what to do with them. Little kids scare me
Peony - I'm ambiverted, but I guess I'm leaning towards the introvert side :) am trying to get better at drawing and painting, and I love looking at other people's art (especially yours!) so I can learn from them.
Apricot - I only try to settle things down if it gets really heated, otherwise, I sit back and enjoy the show but I appreciate you think I'm like that lol

Phase: One ✨
Week: Three 🍓
Hi, it’s Froggie, back at it again with your weekly update. I’ve been pretty busy this week (so if this post doesn’t make it until Saturday I’m sorry ( ; ; )). This week’s focus was on finalizing everything for Phase One and continuing work on reupholstery.
With that, let’s dive into the weekly report (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
Determining Building Materials ✨:
This week I visited some local hardware stores in my area to price hardwoods to build a foot rest. I looked for pricing on my ideal hardwood species, cherry, as well as considering another option that was brought up: knotty alder. While this wood species did run at a lesser cost per board foot I still think I might stick with cherry since I won’t really need very much.
My fabric sample still hasn’t come in the mail but I’m fairly confident I’ll be using twill as my upholstery fabric. I might also get a softer fabric for my “bean bag pillow” but that will come up in a future post.
Budgeting 🍓:
By gathering information on prices of wood and fabric I have been able to plan out the funds needed to support my project. The costs are as listed below (note that this is still subject to change as I’m trying to stay flexible in case something goes wrong):
Wood (Cherry): 54-68$
Wood (Knotty Alder): 36$
Wood (Plywood for bases and such): 18$
Fabric (Twill): 64$
Fabric (Rayon/Polyester): 320$
Cushion foam: 70$
Upholstery Nails: 5-10$
Staples: 10-20$
Upholstery Gauze: 5$
Bean Bag Filling (Foam): 45$
Bean Bag Filling (Beads): 20$
Total Cost of Project: 228-556$
Once I actually obtain the materials I’ll give an accurate report on the price (since I didn’t include tax and may mix and match my options) so wish me luck (*'▽'*)
Budgeting (b) ✨:
This week I started work hauling off debris and helping tear out one of the walls I’ve been assigned to work in. (Had a bit of a scare trying to get a screw out of an electrical outlet box but everything’s going well (^∇^)). I will post a few pictures along with my reupholstery work update.
Sewing Patterns 🍓:
As far as sewing patterns go, this week I watched some tutorials on how to sew a bean bag chair and I will post some models of what mine may look like soon. So for this section I’m pretty much done since the chairs provide their own pattern and very little work is required on the foot stool’s front.
Reupholstery ✨:
This week I got a lot done as far as taking apart the first chair. Large bits of the fabric are able to be taken off now and I’m getting to the bulk of the chair’s frame (which is exciting because my fingers are suffering from pulling staples ( ˙-˙ )). Pictures will be posted soon so I can show more than tell.
TL; DR
(Too Long; Didn’t Read)
Hello and welcome to the final Phase One update! I’m Froggie and this week I finished budgeting everything out, learned more about sewing, and continued work on taking apart some chairs (as well as a wall to earn money for the project). I’ll be posting pictures soon of my work so far but that’s all for this week and I’ll see you in Phase Two! ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆, Froggie out 🍓✨
